Butterfly Beauty

I made this card a couple of days ago and just haven't gotten around to uploading it. We've been busy with graduations and buying our youngest her first vehicle. It's a truck (father wants her to have as big a vehicle as she can handle. He's a firm believer that the bigger the vehicle, the more protection. She is his baby girl after all. *grin*). They're picking it up as I'm writing this post. It's not the color she wants, but she's happy. She actually wanted red!!! Are you kidding me? That's like a ticket waiting to happen. She insisted that she would never drive fast enough to even be considered for a ticket, but sheesh...blending in is much better. LOL

Anyway...sorry for rambling. Back to the card. I stamped the images God's Beauty (Stampin' UP!), with White Craft Ink (SU) onto kraft (SU), and embossed them with White Detailed ep (SU). I added a bit of glitter to the butterfly, and colored the leaves with SU's watercolor crayons using my aquabrush. The vellum leaves were punched with a Martha Stewart Punch, as is the tiny butterfly on the sentiment. Oh, the sentiment was stamped with Vintage Sepia (Versafine), and the Ribbon tag was made with a Spellbinders diecut, as are the Scalloped and Curved Rectangles. All the edges were ink distressed with Vintage Photo (Ranger Distress Ink).

The sketch is SCS's sketch that was posted this past Wed. Love that sketch.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.
Happy Stamping!
Tosh

Tosha, I absolutely love your card. The vellum leaves are sheer genius! The white craft ink works beautifully with Emerson's quote as does your gentle distressing.

Holy Schmokes, this is beautiful! I love this stamp set, too. I remember when Jess got his first vehicle (also a truck) and how nervous we were to have him driving on his own.

What a beautiful and sweet card!

And congrats to your DD! Mine got a red car.....LOL
But it's not fire engine red, so we are hoping the *Ruby Red* blends in better!

pretty design, papers, love the stamping on the kraft and great vellum leaves, I will have to try that I didn't think it would punch through vellum!
