Amaryllis Bliss ~ Happiest Holiday 2018 Power Poppy Release Day

Power Poppy Release Day is finally here!!!  The entire Happiest Holiday 2018 collection is available as well as some coordinating dies!!  Woo-Hoo!!!  For our last little preview, we are sharing this gorgeous Amaryllis Bliss set.

http://powerpoppy.com/products/amaryllis-bliss/
I stamped the image with Versamark onto watercolor paper and embossed it with white.  I then masked it off and added a few more stamped images.  I then colored it all with my Zig Clean Color Markers and added a few splatters.  I added some Glitter Gloss (Nuvo) to all the petals to sparkle it up a bit.  It's a nice subtle shine irl.  I'm hoping you can see it better if you click on the photos.

The sentiment was stamped onto black cardstock with Whisper White pigmented ink (SU!), and embossed with white ep.  I also sponged some of the Whisper White along the edges to soften it up a bit.

Grandma's Snowflakes ~ Happiest Holiday 2018 Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/grandmas-snowflakes/Hello everyone!!!  Oh my goodness did I ever have THE...BEST...TIME working with the new Power Poppy set Grandma's snowflakes!!!  They are just super charming and they remind me of crocheted doilies.  I love anything vintage, so these babies are right up my alley!!

This card is super easy, and came together in an hour.  I know right?  That is unheard of in my world.  3-4 hours/card is usually the standard for my card making skills.  But this one, designing, trial-and-errors and all...1 hour.  Woot-Woot!!

I started with a standard A2 size piece of kraft cardstock.  I stamped all the snowflakes onto it with Versamark, and heat embossed them with Super Fine Detailed White Embossing Powder (Ranger).  I then masked off a 3/4" border on each side and sponged Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink onto the cardstock.  After it dried a bit, I sprinkled water on it, let it dry and removed the mask.  Lastly, I used a Sakura Gelly Roll 10 pen to add some white flecks to the background, and fussy cut the individual words from the sentiment that I heat embossed in white on black cardstock.

That's it folks.  It's almost a one layer card, but I really struggle with leaving cards without a frame.  I tried...I really did.  *sigh*

Now, be sure to check out what the following Bloom Brigade members have to share with this set.  I know you'll be inspired!!

Snuggle Down Through the Woods ~ Happiest Holiday 2018 Power Poppy Preview

https://powerpoppy.com/collections/happiest-holiday-2018

http://powerpoppy.com/products/snuggle-down/Happy Friday!!!  Have you been enjoying the Power Poppy previews the last couple of days?  Well, I hope you enjoy these next ones just as much.  Today, the Bloom Brigade is featuring two warm and cozy sets, and they are just super adorable and charming!!  I used mainly the stripes in the Snuggle Down set to make my plaid background, and I have 4 cards to share.  Each one has the same plaid design with entirely different looks and feel.
I got out my Minc machine for these babies which made the plaid
http://powerpoppy.com/products/through-the-woods/
super easy to replicate in different colors.  I used 5 different cardstocks, three different foils, and one plaid design in which I used all the stripes Marcy included in this set.  I also used the ribbon and bells set from Through the Woods.  I went a bit modern with my first one.  The background is dry embossed to give it a knitted sweater feel with the cool turquoise/white plaid.  I just photocopied my design onto turquoise cardstock and Minc'ed it with white foil.  Minc'ing is great for getting fine details in images.  I heat emboss too, but I can get stray flecks, and sometimes embossing powder can get overly thick.  That's why, when I have very fine details like the silver bells and ribbon, and the fine plaid stripes, I go straight for my Minc machine.

The red/black plaid feels like a cozy blanket to me, so I used black foil on red cardstock and diecut the background with Spellbinders' Square Swatches die.

I made a frame with the third color.  I thought it felt a bit more rustic and masculine.  The sentiments are from two new Power Poppy sets:  Through the Woods and Let Your Heart Be Light

Last, but not least, I have an elegant, shiny plaid to share with you, that I combined with the ribbon and bow image from the Through the Woods stamps set.  All are Minc'ed with silver foil.  The bells are on matted silver cardstock, and the plaid is on a dark gray cardstock.  The sentiment is also from the Through the Woods set.

Whew....that's finally it for me today.  Check out what the other gals have to share:

Let Your Heart Be Light ~ Power Poppy Happiest Holidays 2018 Previews

Hello everyone!!  It's day two of Power Poppy's Happiest Holiday 2018 previews and we are featuring a gorgeous new set called Let Your Heart Be Light.  It includes two gorgeous holly and poinsettia images that have coordinating light beams,  along with 6 sentiments.

I thought it would be fun to use a unique fold for opening this card, so I made my folds and stamped one of the images on both ends and trimmed around the base of them.  I then stamped the sentiment in the center using the Misti.

Everything is colored with Copics, and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU!)

That's it for my project today.  If you haven't already, stop by the following Bloom Brigaders to see what they have to share:

Christmas Corgis ~ Power Poppy Happiest Holiday 2018 Preview

https://powerpoppy.com/collections/happiest-holiday-2018
Are you ready for some previews? We're getting ready for Power Poppy's Happiest Holiday 2018 release, and today we're featuring the super adorable and creative Christmas Corgis.  I know you know where Marcy's inspiration came from.  ;)

I love this little guy getting into mischief with a bow from a package.  I can totally see my Shih poo doing this very thing, as I'm sure many of you can relate with your little "fur-babies".

http://powerpoppy.com/products/christmas-corgis/I colored him first with Copics and then added some fur highlights with Polychromo pencils. The package was all paper pieced with papers from Simple Stories' paper pack Winter Wonderland, and the sentiment was "rock-n-rolled" with two Distress Inks:  Barn Door and Aged Mahogany.  I also stamped a few little paw prints in the background and colored them in with Copics.

That's it for my project today, but you must check out with the following Bloom Brigaders have to share:

Painting Pumpkins ~ Power Poppy

Hello everyone!!  I hope your Friday is off to a great start.  I have a super fun new digital image, from Power Poppy, to share with you today.  It's called Painting Pumpkins, and true to Marcy, it's so creative.  It's my Daughter-in-law's birthday tomorrow, and her favorite color is purple.  So when I saw this new digital image I immediately decided I was going to "paint" one of the pumpkins purple.  Why not?  It took me awhile to get the color combo the way I wanted it.  The tall skinny pumpkin?  Well...it started out aqua, then I tried a pale orange, and ended up with it being rose colored.  It's always a process for me.

My card is pretty straight forward today.  So I'm going to just give you the links to the other gals who have projects to share with you this weekend.

But before I do, I just want to let you know that we're starting previews of Power Poppy's new Christmas stamp sets on the 24th, and continuing through to the release day on the 29th.  So be sure to stop by those days to see what Marcella has come up with for this Holiday season.  You won't want to miss it.  As usual, Marcy has some really unique, out-of-the-box sets, as well as those that make you feel all cozy.

Fortunes of Fall Pumpkins ~ Power Poppy

Hello everyone!!!  Happy Friday!!!  I am currently hanging out in Atlanta with my fellow Bloomie Katie Sims, who is someone I am greatly thankful for.  She is a gem through and through.  Tomorrow, we are flying up to New Hampshire to meet up with another fellow Bloomie, Cindy Lawrence, to spend a few days.  Am I blessed or what.  She is another true blue person.  Actually, the entire crew of Power Poppy is some of the most delightful, kindhearted, genuine women I know, and I am beyond thankful to be a part of the PP team with all of them.

So, with that little intro, let me tell you about this month's Power and Spark challenge over on the Power Poppy blog.  I am hosting it, and calling it "It's your birthday!"  I'm challenging you to be inspired by the month you were born in.  There could be a holiday that occurs in your month, a specific season, an event that you enjoy, your birthstone color, your wedding, a birth, whatever you can think of that is inspired by your birth month.

I was born Nov. 20, so my birthday can fall pretty close to Thanksgiving.  It never lands on the day, but can get within 2 days.  I also LOVE...(maybe a bit obsessively) pumpkins.  I have felt pumpkins, velvet pumpkins, metal pumpkins, glass pumpkins, ceramic ones, itty bitty ones, LARGE ones (I actually have a turquoise/gold glass one that is 16"W x 10"H. yep...).  So, of course, this image, from the Fortunes of Fall set, appealed to me greatly!!

I embossed the image, with silver ep, onto watercolor paper, and colored the pumpkins like some of my velvet ones, using Zig Clean Color Real Brushes.  They are deep and rich in color, and are some of my favorites.  The sentiment was also embossed with silver ep.

That's it for my project.  Be sure to stop by the Power Poppy blog for all the details on how you can participate and win a $50 shopping spree!!  You'll also be able to get the links to the other Bloom Brigade members who have projects to share with you today.

Thanks for visiting!!  I hope your weekend is filled with many happy, delightful moments.  I'm hoping to see some Fall foliage on the East coast.  Fingers crossed!!!

  Happy Stamping!!
