Spritzed Cone.....A Ways to use it Challenge

I was sooooo excited when I saw the ways to use it challenge on Splitcoaststampers today!! Julia is encouraging everyone to just *spray it* since April is fast approaching!! Well, I LOVE spritzing my stamps with water after coloring and thumping.

Here's what I did for this card....First I inked up my Paper Inspirations Brushed cone flower stamp. I don't think they're normally red, but I was in a *red* mood today. I'm really happy with the colors!! Actually irl the cone is a much richer chocolate and the reds are deeper, but I'm not a pro at photography!! Anyway, back to the details. I inked up the whole image in Cranberry Crisp, and colored over the cone with my Choc. Chip SU marker, and the leaves with my SU Always Artichoke.

The thumping I referred to is just randomly dropping the marker in strategic places on the image. I usually drop it in the middle a couple of times, and around a few edges. It gives the image more depth. (I used my SU Choc. Chip marker this time) I then spritzed the image three times with a fine mist spray bottle (it's very important to use a fine mist spray, otherwise the colors will bleed into each other too much and you'll get mud. Believe me....this was my second attempt with this image. My spray bottle decided to have an attitude the first time I tried!! My first resulted in mud!! LOL) and stamped it on watercolor paper. I also Ink distressed the edges of each layer a tad with Ranger Walnut Distress Ink.

The butterfly image is a Hero Arts stamp from their clear design Thinking of you set, as is the sentiment. I colored it with copics and it's stamens are just the edging of black SU grossgrain ribbon. I liked the richness of the SU choc. chip wide satin ribbon as the backdrop for the Rusty Pickle Twine ribbon!! I loved the contrast of the two. That's why I added the Robin's Nest Pebbles too. Elegant with rustic!! The papers are Memory Box Flirt!! LOVE them...I have them all!! The Frame is from a Memory Boutique Hardware Kit.

If you haven't checked out Michelle's new store home....you need to!! It's gorgeous!!! Organized!! and best of all........it has TONS of GOODIES!! Just click on the pretty Stamper's Dream button on the right!

Supplies:
Stamps - Paper Inspirations Brushed Coneflower, Hero Arts Thinking of you messages
Paper - SU Choc. Chip, Creamy Caramel, Memory Box Flirt, Watercolor
Ink - SU Choc. Chip, Cranberry Crisp, Always Artichoke, Ranger Walnut Distress Ink
Accessories - Nestabilities petite ovals, SU satin ribbon, Rusty Pickle ribbon, Robin's Nest Pebbles, brads, fine mist spray bottle, scotch dimensional tape

Vellum Challenged!!!

Hey Ya'll!! I know...it's been forever since I've posted. So sorry! It's been crazy trying to get all my Design Team projects done for Splitcoast. But now that that's done, it's time for Monday's challenge that I do with a small group of SCS friends. This week we were to use vellum. Now I'm extremely vellum challenged. Extremely!!! So this was very hard for me. And ya wanna know the craziest part of this challenge? I'm the one who came up with it!! Yeah!! I know....I have a few loose!! I needed the push to get past my phobia!! Sorry for the dark photo. I took this at night and had a hard time even editing it. *groan* I'm exhausted and am ready to go to bed, so this is it!

The vellum is covering the back panel of dp and I stamped the sentiment with black stazon onto a narrow strip of vellum. The flower was inked up with Going gray and edged and thumped with a black marker. I spritzed it about two times and stamped it on SU shimmering white. That's about the gist of it. The Heartfelt sentiment stamp can be found at Stamper's Dream. The set has a variety of sentiments for just about any occassion, and the fonts are sooo fun. It even has some flowers, hearts, a butterfly and leaves!! I LOVE this set!!

Supplies:
Stamps - Penny Black Brush Hydrangea, Hero Arts Clear Design Heartfelt Messages
Paper - Crate Paper: Crate Avenue Collection, River Rock, Shimmering White, Black
Ink - Going Gray, Black, Black Stazon

I'm so excited!! I have the first clue for you today!! I love the Rubbernecker frogs!! I love their expressive eyes and all the unique places they find themselves in!! So, go find that treasure ya'll!! Happy hunting!!

Now for the deets for this card. All I did was stamp the frog image on Papertrey White CS, color it with copics and coat him with 3D crystal lacquer. I decided to give this guy a toad look. Doncha think he may be trying to get this flower for a princess in hopes that he'll get a kiss? I know...corny, huh? I still liked the idea of coloring him brown for a change. For the flower I used the Sakura Quickie Glue pen to attach ultrafine crystal glitter. The teeny rhinestone stickers are from Amuse. And the DP is Deja Views Little Ones Collections. I used the SU key tag punch to cut out the sentiment and the double circle punch to attach the ribbon.

Supplies:
Stamps - Frog Hanging from Flower,
Hang in there
Paper - Papertrey White, Deja Views, SU Certainly Celery
Ink - Ranger Black Soot Distress Ink
Accessories - 3D Crystal lacquer, Sakura Quickie Glue Pen, Ultrafine Crystal Glitter, SU key tag punch, SU double circle punch, Offray Ribbon, Copics

A web in springtime

It's time for another challenge that I do every Monday with a few of my goofy SCS friends. And this was a goofy challenge. Once a month we pick an unusual name from SCS and make a card fitting their name and then we send it to them. Well, this month Cindy picked the name mwebb (Mary)...that means we had to make a card with a web on it, and it's not even close to halloween. Talk about a challenge. Well, this is my only web and spider stamp, so here is my mwebb card. This actually is perfect timing because it is Mary's birthday today!! Happy Birthday Mary.

If you'd like to see what the others did for this challenge, click HERE.

I did a bit of masking on this card, and colored it with my Prisma watercolor pencils and my SU blending pen. On the inside I stamped *Just dropped by to say hi* by Rubbernecker Stamp Company.

Supplies:
Stamps - SU Feathered Hope, Penny Black Halloween Night, Art Impressions (girl and fence)
Paper - SU Kraft, Cranberry Crisp, watercolor
Ink - Versafine black onyx, Ranger Tea Dye and Walnut Distress Ink
Accessories - Prisma watercolor pencils, Quickie glue pen, ultrafine glitter, SU cranberry crisp stitched ribbon, sponge

Blush Feature

I love doing the Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoast when I have an opportunity. This week parisotremba is featured! She has a gallery filled with adorable creations. I chose to case this one: papertrey flowers

Before I clicked on her card, the dp appeared to me to have brads running up the sides. It didn't, but it gave me the idea to add the brads to mine.

Changes: Colors, dp, Stamp image, added brads, sentiment charm instead of vellum, added piercing and ink distressing

This gorgeous stamp by Penny Black, and and paper by Memory Box, can be found at Stamper's Dream!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Penny black Blush
Paper: Memory Box Homespun, Bazzill, SU vanilla
Ink: Cameo Coral, Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Choc. chip, Ranger Frayed Burlap Distress Ink
Accessories: Blue Moon Heart and Soul Charm (found in jewelry section at Michaels), Mat Pack, piercing tool, sponge, Making Memories cord, scotch dimensional tape

Create!!

It's Wednesday, and that means a sketch challenge on SCS. I love doing their sketches when I have the time. This week, I had the colors picked out...no problem. Knew the stamps I wanted to use....no problem. Embellishing....now that was a problem. I had the hardest time putting this all together. When I finally got my flowers to look right, I messed it up with the butterflies. They're adorable and easy to stamp with since they're clear, I was just in too big of a hurry to get this card done. They come with the Hero Arts Heartfelt Messages set. Grrr. Couldn't figure out what primas, if any to use in the corner....and it definitely needed something there. The bg peach piece...still not happy with it, but I just stopped. Didn't know what else to do. Anyway...I stamped the Penny Black flowers in Cameo Coral, and *thumped* them with Rose Red. The stems are Always Artichoke. I then spritzed them about 4 times and stamped them on Bazzill. All the paper is Bazzill btw, except the brown...it's SU Choc. Chip. I stamped the sentiment with SU Choc. Chip too. The flourish is Cameo Coral, stamped off. The flowers, flourish and butterflies all have Sakura Stardust on them, but it doesn't show up in the pictures. I found the charm at michaels in the jewelry section. It's by Bluemoon Beads, Heart and Soul. It comes with 4 other birds too. The corner piece was embossed with the new cuttlebug embossing folder Diamonds in the Rough. I think it looks like it was weaved. I loved the effect. All the panels were ink distressed with Ranger Old Paper and Walnut Distress inks. Thanks for stopping by!!!!!

Supplies:
Stamps - Hero Arts Clear Design Treasure the Moments , Hero Arts Clear Design Heartfelt Messages, Penny Black Ascent
Paper - Bazzill, SU Choc. Chip
Ink - SU Cameo Coral, Rose Red, Choc. Chip, Ranger Walnut and Old Paper Distress Ink
Accessories - Primas, brads, Sakura Clear Stardust pen, Cuttlebug Diamonds in the Rough Embossing folder, SU corner ticket punch, SU slot punch, Bluemoon Charm, Organdy Ribbon, Sponge

Now for a card. I first coated SU choc. Chip cs with a good thick layer of Frayed Burlap Crackle paint. After it dried, at stamped the RN beehive on it with Timber Stazon and colored it with copics. I think the copics gave it a more realistic look. I then cutout the hive and framed it with black. The bg is just two pieces of Always Artichoke that I randomly cut with scissors and embossed with one of the new Cuttlebug embossing folders birds and swirls...I'm always forgetting the names. The tan bg was stamped with the swirly bg from RN, and the *sweet* sentiment was taken from the larger *hive sweet hive* sign. I ink distressed the card with Ranger Walnut distress ink.

Supplies:
Stamps - Rubbernecker Grand Bee Skep, Petite and Grand Hive Sweet Hive, Swirly bg
Paper - Black, River Rock, Choc. Chip, Always Artichoke
Ink - Ranger Walnut Distress ink, Adirondack Latte, Timber Stazon
Accessories - Frayed burlap crackle paint, brads, copics, sponge, SU oval punches, twill ribbon, Tim Holtz Retractable Craft Pick, Scotch Dimensional Tape

Shaving Cream?

Each Monday a small group of 8 of us SCSers do a challenge that was assigned a month before. This week we were to use the Shaving cream technique. I used SU's Rose Red and Choc. Chip reinkers, on Papertrey white cs, to get the effect of the scallop and my photo corner. The pink is Bazzill and the brown is SU's Choc. Chip. I ink distressed the edges with Ranger Walnut Distress Ink, paper pierced with Tim's Holtz's retractable craft pick, added pink Adornit jewel droplets that I got from Eclectic Paperie, and colored my Elzybell image with copics. Isn't this image sweet? I'm a huge Elzybell's fan!! Huge I tell ya!! Love them.

I made the dots with Souffle Pens and I put coffee ice stickles on the back of the button and glued it on with hot glue. (The button was a gift from Cammie - I used another button....thanks for the inspiration Cam) I also used a corner rounder on the bottom corner.

Supplies:
Stamps - Elzybell's: Daisy Bunch, Daisy Trio, Happy Birthday
Paper - Bazzill, SU Choc. Chip, Papertrey White
Ink - Ranger Black Soot and Walnut Distress Ink
Accessories - Nestabilities, Retractable Craft Pick, Souffle pens (white, pink), Adornit jewels, SU clear button, ribbon, SU mat pack, sponge, Scotch Dimensional tape, Coffee Ice and Grape Ice stickles
