For my card today, I used a new Power Poppy Digital image called Vintage Easter Egg.  I went quite literal, and colored the image with a vintage color palette in mind using muted colors.  I also ink distressed around the circle, using Antique Linen (Ranger Distress Ink) to age it up a bit.

A few diecuts were used too.  The background panel was cut using Avery Elle's Double Pierced Rectangle Die.  The Stitched circle is from Couture Cuts, and the Scalloped Die is from Spellbinders.  I added some seam binding ribbon and some sweet sequins by Pretty Pink Posh too, as well as a felt heart that I diecut using Primitive Hearts by Sizzix.  The decorative paper is from Pion Design.
Copics:   Egg ~ E43, E42, E41, E40 Bow ~ V99, V95, V93, V91 Flower and Frame ~ RV99, RV95, RV93, RV91 Leaves ~ G29, G46, G24, G43, G40 Small Flowers ~ YR27, YR24, Y19 Background ~ W5, W3, W1, W0

That sums up my card for today.

Waltzingmouse Easter Card and Camping photos

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile.  We took a small vacation and went camping for a few days.  I have a few pictures to share after my Easter card.
Waltzingmouse has a fabulously versatile set called A Good Egg.  It's handy for Easter, but not limited to it.  In fact, I have a project that I will be sharing April 1 using this set in a different way.  But for today, it's all about Easter.

First of all, I stamped the eggs and their decorations with the following VersaMagic inks:  Pink Petunia, Spring Pansy, Thatched Straw and Aspen Mist.

I diecut the oval shape (Floral Ovals and Standard Ovals dies ~ Spellbinders), and layered it over an embossed panel using one of the new Spellbinders M-Bossabilities called Basket Weave.  I first inked it with Latte pigment ink (amuse), and ran it through my embossing machine.

Lastly, I used an Ice White Pearl Pen and glitter to add some sparkly pearls to the Oval border, as well as to the Resplendent Rectangle diecut background pieces, and a Sparkly diecut Exotic Small Butterfly (Cheery Lynn Designs).

Oh, I also added a small little grassy border inside the oval frame using a Fiskars Grass Border Punch.

That's it for my Easter card, now let me share a few fun photos.

This is Lake Lopez in Arroyo Grande California.  It's a beautiful campground filled with an abundant array of wildlife:  Woodpeckers, Deer, Wild Turkey, Quail, Racoons, Egrets, Herons, and an occasional skunk.

The woodpeckers make holes in the surrounding trees and stuff acorns in them for the winter.  They're quite entertaining to watch.

There is also an abundance of wildflowers in the spring.  Here's a picture of a Southern Shooting Star.  I have to apologize for the lack of clarity.  I didn't have my tripod with me, and my hands aren't as steady as they used to be.  But you can see the beauty and uniqueness of this elegant flower.

We visited a local Ostrich and Emu feeding farm too.  They're all characters and fun to watch.  They all have quite the large attitudes and are actually hard to photograph because they're always moving and walking in front of each other.  The first picture is of a male ostrich.

Here's a headshot of an Emu.  He doesn't look very trustworthy to me... (grin).
I had a bunch of full shots, but like I mentioned, they were all jockeying for positions, so I wasn't happy with the photos.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you've enjoyed my Easter card, as well as a few of my favorite camping photos.

Happy Stamping!

Waltzingmouse March Release Previews ~ Day 1

Welcome to the first day of the Waltzingmouse March Blog Hop!  I'm so excited to share these new sets with you!  Today we're featuring a charming set called A Good Egg.  And Claire has designed the images so that they can be used for Easter and year round.  I made my first card an Easter one by using the Rocking and Rolling technique with two inks for the sunburst styled egg and framed it using Claire's Opera Tag images and die.  Of course I had to include a chocolate bunny.

I went a little silly for my second card.  I was making bacon and eggs for my husband and remembered one of the sentiments for this set:  "Keep your sunnyside up", and thought why not make and egg?  I just free-handed the egg white and punched out a yellow piece of cardstock and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I know pretty corny...but I just couldn't resist.

That's it for me today.  Your last stop is Claire's blog.
Here's the hop list in case you might have missed a stop along the way.

Thank you so much for dropping by.  I hope you've been enjoying hopping along.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow for some more peeks and inspiration!
Happy Stamping!

Hoppy Easter Verve Release Hop

Verve's releasing a sweet little set just in time for Easter. It's called Hoppy Easter, and it has the sweetest little bunny, flower and sentiments. One lucky commenter will win this darling set too. All you have to do is leave a comment on the blogs before Sun. April 1, at 8:00 pm Eastern time, and you will be entered to win. You don't have to comment on every blog, but it does increase your chances. ;)

eta: I used this week's Viva la Verve sketch as my inspiration

I stamped the flower 9x, colored it with copics, added rhinestones and glitter, then layered it with dimensional tape. I planted the flowers in a diecut Flower Pot (Spellbinders), along with some Sizzix diecut leaves and stems.

I stamped the "Easter Wishes" sentiment, with Smokey Gray Versafine, onto the larger Charming Banner dies, folded it a bit, and added a couple of pearls.

And lastly, I paper pieced the darling bunny with dp from MME's "Be Happy" Follow Your Heart" line.

That's it for my card.

Be sure to visit the other girls' blogs to see how they can inspire with this sweet set. Here are the links:

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter my friends!! Hallelujah!! He has Risen!!
We will be celebrating Easter with my DH's family today and I hope you all have a day filled with Blessings. I, for one, count myself blessed beyond words as I reflect on the significance of Christ's resurrection

I know this card is secular, but Easter eggs are a fun memory of mine: decorating, hiding, finding. Although we like to focus on Christ's resurrection, we also have fun playing games, such as finding eggs. So this card is a celebration of youth. I used a variety of Verve images and dies. The little chick and basket come from the set Chicks Rule, and the eggs and sentiment are from the set Egg-stra Special. The sentiment is framed with A Cut Above Charming Oval Die.

The basket is on a Labels 18 (Spellbinders) base, and is hanging from an Elegant Post (Spellbinders). The doily underneath was made by cutting a Parisian Motif (Spellbinders) diecut piece in half.

That's it from me today. I hope you have a Blessed Easter!!
Happy stamping my friends!!

Viva la Verve Inspired

Amber has some wonderful sketches and inspirations over at the Viva la Verve forum found HERE. I used this past Friday's as a starting point for this card, and the third photo as the inspiration. I LOVE the cross from Verve's set Everlasting Life. It's so beautiful pieced.

This card is pretty straight forward. No special techniques. I just followed the sketch, did a bit of sewing and added some glitter and buttons. Woila...easy.

Thank you so very much for stopping by. I hope your week is off to a fabulous start!
Happy Stamping my friends!!

Bunnies 4 Sale

I made this card for SCS's Inspiration challenge!! I loved the blue and white scene!! I just had to play. Now that I see these images together, I realize mine looks green. I had a hard time with the stickles and the lacquer, thus the dark bg. I assure you it's blue. I stamped the image on Papertrey White cs and colored it with copics. Crystal Ice Stickles were added to the filler and the bunnies bows. 3-D crystal lacquer coats the heart. The frame was cut with nestabilities by Spellbinders, and the scallops at the bottom were done with a scallop scissors by fiskars. The lattice is a diecut by Cuttlebug. I used a white Sakura souffle pen for the doodles.

Supplies:
Stamp - Rubbernecker - Bunnies for Sale
Paper - Bazzill Basics Poolside collection Trio of Trios, Papertrey White
Ink - Ranger Black Soot Distress Ink
Accessories - Copics, Crystal Ice Stickles, 3-D Crystal Lacquer, nestabilities, Cuttlebug diecut, Sakura white Souffle pen

Hi There Chickee!!

Isn't this chick just adorable?!?! I love that you can piece the egg or color it...the possibilities are endless!!! You can find this guy at Rubbernecker. I decided to piece it with Basicgrey Two Scoops Paper. The very bg piece that is embossed with the new cuttlebug Rough Diamond folder, is also from the Two Scoops pack. The flower piece is Autumn Leaves Paperbilities paper that I got at Walmart yesterday. It worked perfect with the Basicgrey. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Thinking of you Messages. The sentiment can be found at Stamper's Dream.

I gave it a little sparkle with my Quickie Glue Pen and Ultra fine glitter, and added the Adorn it jewels around the edges and in the flower. The jewels can be found at Papertrey.

Oh, and I made this card according to the Sketch challenge at SCS. Check it out if you haven't already. That about sums it all up.

Supplies:
Stamps - Rubbernecker - Chip
Stamper's Dream - Thinking of you Messages
Paper - Basicgrey Two Scoops, Autumn Leaves Paperbilities, SU Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery, Papertrey White
Ink - Certainly Celery, Cameo Coral
Accessories - Adornit jewel stickers, SU oval punch, Cuttlebug Rough Diamond folder, scallop scissors, copics
