Floral Elgance and blog candy...

I love flowers!! Love them!! Basically I just love nature...birds, flowers, clouds (as you probably noticed a couple of posts ago), sunsets, waterfalls...yep, nature. So when I saw this new Inkadinkado set Beauty Stems from Here, I had to have it! You can get it too from Michelle's store Stamper's Dream. She has oodles of new stamps from a variety of companies, along with papers, ribbon, and new fun embellishments too.

For this card, I stamped the image twice onto Neenah Solar White with Tuxedo Black (memento), and colored it with copics. I then cut out the flowers and leaves and popped them up with dimensional tape. I thought the Ivory Crocheted Ribbon along with the irridescent ribbon would make a good combination with a buckle slider, so I added that above the scalloped border created with a Martha Stewart punch.

The gorgeous sentiment is from the Wonderful Wishes set by Verve. They have the most fabulous sentiments in the most wonderful variety of fonts.

Supplies:
Stamps - Beauty Stems from Here (Inkadinkado), Wonderful Wishes (Verve)
Paper - French Flea Market (BellaBella - My Mind's Eye), Sage Medium and White (Prismatic), Neenah Solar White, Vellum (SU)
Ink - Tuxedo Black (Memento), Cloudy Blue (Adirondack Dye Ink)
Accessories - Labels I Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Copics, Crocheted Ribbon and Iridescent Ribbon (May Arts), Buckle (JoAnn Scrap essentials), Scalloped Border and Butterfly Punches (Martha Stewart), Corner Rounder punch, Rhinestone stickers (Kaisercraft), Fancy Decorative Corners (Simply Swank), Ultrafine Glitter, Quickie Glue Pen, Sewing Machine, Dimensional Tape

Oh.....you probably are wondering about the BLOG CANDY mentioned in the title...*grin*
Okay. Well, I recently hit 100,000 views and wanted to thank you all for stopping by. Especially those who have been so supportive and have left comments. So, I have some fun goodies that I'll give away Friday before noon. All you have to do is leave a comment about what your favorite flower is, and I'll use random.org to pick a winner. Simple as that.
Mine is the Sunflower. I love it's texture, size, and actually the different colors it can be!!
Did you know there's actually a sunflower called a Teddy Bear Sunflower? They are so fluffy and soft!! Love them.
Okay....
Here's a photo of the blog candy:
Included: Click on any of the items listed below for a closer view. They're all new items available at Stamper's Dream.

My favorite flowers are spray roses. I have always loved all roses, but spray roses especially because there are a bunch of them on one stem, they are smaller, usually have a more curly petal edge and don't generally open up. Cool question, thanks.

As for my favorite flower, it would have to be Lily of the Valley. Today would have been my Mom's 79th birthday. I recently framed a painting that she had done in the 60's that is of Lily of the Valley. It is small, only 4x8 but I am so glad I found it--and YOU!! thanks!

Congratultions! 100,000 is huge :)

My favorite flower seems to change. Love Lilacs (we used to have a lilac bush in the back yard of the first house hubby and I first lived in). And love jasmine... something so yummy about the fragrance. And honeysuckle. We had some in our yard when I was growing up. Such a delicate scent.
I don't live where there is snow any more but I remember LOVING when the Hyacinths would color our walk and border our yard. It meant spring was definitely here!
ok, yeah, i have a few favs. LOL

Congrats again on the milestone. Isn't it funny how you think "no one will ever come see my creations" when you first start a blog and then *blink* you're hitting 100,000!!

My favorite is the sunflower too, I would like to grow some of the minature ones I have seen in fields but I always seem to plant the real tall ones, then in the fall I harvest the seeds and put them out for the birds during the winter months.

As always, your card is beautiful. As I was raised up north my favorite flower was the peony because they come in the most spectacular colors. Now that I live in the south and peonies don't grow here, I guess I would have to say my favorite for the climate is hibiscus because of the varieties of blooms and colors available.

Sabrina aka okimom2girlz said...

Wow, what a milestone!!!! Congratulations, Tosh!!!For my favorite flower, well, that would be a tough one, since I like flowers in general, but while we were stationed in Okinawa,Japan I had a closer look at Orchids (they love the moist tropical climate there ;P)and they are like a piece of art. They may look alike but are so very different in their own way. So, I guess Orchids it is. Tosh, also, may GOD bless you for being such a great friend to Laurie!!!

First of all, this is one beautiful card. The background looks like marble or ceramic. You really do a good job of coloring with the copics, Tosh. My very favorite flower is the Gerbera Daisy. I truly love all flowers, with the exception of Iris for some reason, but no other flower has such vibrant & strong colors and I love the perfectly flat flower heads. And I love the centers. Guess I'll have to stop myself because I'm going & going on.........!!

I think my favorite flower is the lilac's but I love roses and sunflowers.

Hi Tosh -

I love that card, the flowers are so pretty and delicate. My favorite flowers are Johnny-Jump-ups (tiny pansies). I just love their little faces. My other favorites are lilacs and lavender (guess you can tell I have a thing for anything in the shade of purple)! But I do adore the scent you get from Lilacs and lavender, clean and slightly old-fashioned.
I wanted to also say that I think you are very special. To take the time away from your busy schedule and your family, to spend time with a friend in need (like you did for Laurie), makes you a hero in my book! Everybody should have a friend like you.
