Precious Baby ~ Power Poppy

Hello my awesome creative friends!!  I hope you have had a wonderful week and are looking forward to a nice weekend.  I know I am!

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2018/06/june-challenge-lets-go-round-round.html
Since today is the first of the month, we have a new Power and Spark Challenge hosted by our very own sweet Bloom Brigader, Stacy!  She is challenging us to go "Round and Round".  She wants us to add some round corners, edges, or a complete round (circle).  I have scallops "around" my frame...hopefully that counts? ;)

Anyway, I have a fun shaker card to share with you today using Power Poppy's new Precious Baby clear stamp set.  Isn't that lamb planter just precious?!?!?!  I thought it would be charming and fun to make it a shaker.  I created a background, to ground the image, with a bead board wall, and gray distressed counter.  I used my score board for the wall, and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide (Ranger) for the base.  I masked off my stamped image before sponging the Distress Oxide.  The image itself, was colored with Copics.

For the frame, I diecut 6 layers using Pretty Pink Posh's Scallop frames.  I glued them all together with a layer of acetate between the top and second layer.

That sums up my project for today.  Be sure to check out what the following uber talented Bloom Brigaders have to share with you:

Christine Okken
Julie Koerber
Katie Sims
Stacy Morgan
Tosha Leyendekker
---you are here

Thanks for visiting!!  Have a fabulous weekend!!
  Happy Stamping!

Tree of Life ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/tree-of-life/
It's day 3 of the Power Poppy previews, and people, this set is STUNNING!!!  It's called Tree of Life.  Marcy has designed an exquisite tree just chock full of delicious details.  And she didn't stop there!  She added the sweetest little extras too: like a darling little squirrel, leaves, another gorgeous bird, and fantastic sentiments.

The tree is so beautifully detailed that I thought it would be fun to "Minc" it in gold.  It would work beautifully for Christmas too.

No coloring was done for this card.  I just stamped the image onto copy paper, photo copied it, added my Minc foil and ran it through my Minc machine.  I then diecut it using Spellbinders' Venise Lace die and layered it on some Teresa Collins Fabrications paper.  Lastly, I added some sequins and a crinkled ribbon that I made using organdy ribbon that I heat carefully using my heat tool.  (If you get it too hot it melts.)  I make my bow, and then hold it with a tweezers and gently heat the bows, then the tails.

Finally, I stamped one of the gorgeous sentiments with Onyx Black Versafine.

Here are the links to the other Bloomies that have some inspiration to share:

That's it for me today.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow though.  I am so excited to share the next preview because it's my favorite so far.  Well...if one can really pick a Power Poppy favorite.  Mine change from day to day.

  Happy Stamping!!

For my card today, I used a new Power Poppy Digital image called Vintage Easter Egg.  I went quite literal, and colored the image with a vintage color palette in mind using muted colors.  I also ink distressed around the circle, using Antique Linen (Ranger Distress Ink) to age it up a bit.

A few diecuts were used too.  The background panel was cut using Avery Elle's Double Pierced Rectangle Die.  The Stitched circle is from Couture Cuts, and the Scalloped Die is from Spellbinders.  I added some seam binding ribbon and some sweet sequins by Pretty Pink Posh too, as well as a felt heart that I diecut using Primitive Hearts by Sizzix.  The decorative paper is from Pion Design.

Pink Lemonade ~ Power Poppy

Hello friends!!  It's Friday!!  Already!!  Oh my goodness how this day can sneak up on a person.  I'm not complaining though, because I am so ready for the weekend!!  And how!!

It's been a bit hot here lately, so I thought this darling little pitcher of refreshment, with an accompanied mason jar, was the perfect image to work with this week!!  It's from the charming Power Poppy Clear Stamp set called Tea in the Garden.

I decided it was going to be pink lemonade for today, and colored it accordingly with some Copics, diecut it with the Stitched Rounded Rectangle die (Die-namics), added some sequins (Pretty Pink Posh), and a charming little daisy that I made using some embroidery thread and a Clover Mini-loom.

This was quite the CAS card for me...which at times can be harder for me than a really involved card.  But this one came together sweetly...especially once I found the paper I wanted to use with it.

Dynamic Duos: Foxglove and Ranunculus ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/foxglove-and-ranunculusHello once again!!  I hope y'all have been enjoying the Power Poppy previews these past couple of days!!  Well, I have another to share with you.  It's an image that was originally digital, but for those of you who like to work with stamps, this Foxglove image will now be available as a clear stamp.  The set will include two favorite floral images and is called Dynamic Duos: Foxglove and Ranunculus.

Once again, I colored the image with Copics, and diecut it using an oval frame called Oval Majesty (Spellbinders).  I also added a topper using just the top piece of a diecut square called Floral Assortment (Spellbinders).  Lastly, I added some sequins...no surprise there.  ;)

Hello Gorgeous ~ Power Poppy

I'm baaaaaaack!!  Finally!  It's been awhile since I've posted.  Shoot, it's been awhile since I've colored.  I kind of got in my own head, and just couldn't get started.  I'm sure y'all know how that is.  Well, I finally just told myself to just start, and here's the result.

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
My dear friend Cindy has issued this month's Power and Spark Challenge.  And true to form, it's a thoughtful one!  Cindy has a heart of gold and this challenge speaks to that.  Here are the guidelines:

The Happy Mail Challenge! How many times have you created a card only to have it sit in a basket waiting for that perfect occasion? This time, let’s flip that around and create a card with someone in mind and then, slap a stamp on that baby and put it in the mail! Keep in mind, we want this to be a card “just because.” Sure special occasions are important, but we want this one to be about simply sharing the love – not for birthdays or graduations or anniversaries—a “just because you care” kind of card for someone you’ve had on your mind. The challenge runs through June 30th at 8PM EST for a chance at a Power Poppy stamp set of choice.

Isn't that so cool?!?!?!
So, for today's card, I used an image from Power Poppy's Best Day Ever set.  I thought the hat and sunglasses just fit for this time of year...considering we're sporting the 100's this week for temps.  I don't think I'll be reading outside anytime soon though.

I colored everything with Copics, however, it was a bit bright for the Modern/Vintage (Is that even a thing?  Probably not, but that's how this feels to me...vintage with a twist...*grin*...I'm making up my own rules.), so I went over the entire image with E30, and it toned it down just enough.

CopicsHat ~ BG0000, BG07, BG05, BG01 Ribbon/Sunglasses ~ R29, R08, R05 Flower ~ C6, C4, C3, C1 Book ~ C3, C1, E41 Scarf ~ YG17, YG07, YG05, YG11 Background ~ E43, E42, E41 Overall ~ E30

Stretch Yourself with a Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge!!

Hello everyone!!  Today I'm sharing my first project of the New Year, and it's for the Power and Spark Challenge over on the Power Poppy Blog.  I have the honor of hosting it this month, and I inadvertently pushed myself right out of my box.

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
First of all, let me tell you about the challenge.  The New Year is a time to start fresh, and often we challenge ourselves with resolutions.  Those can be tall orders for some of us depending on the goals we set.  So, for today's Power and Spark Challenge, I'd like you to Stretch yourself and create a "Tall" card, while using something "new-to-you" on it.  It could be a technique, a stamp, some paper, or dies...whatever you can come up with.

Awhile back I found a watercolor video tutorial by Jennifer McGuire using the Gansai Tambi Watercolor set.  Now, I've never colored with watercolors before,  (I've used Tombow markers, but never actual watercolors.) and Jennifer explains her technique so well.  These watercolors are pure creamy goodness and so easy to work with, especially the way Jennifer explains it.

I started by stamping Power Poppy's Potted Primroses, with Versamark, onto Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock like Jennifer suggests.   I then heat embossed them with Super Fine Detail Black Embossing Powder (Ranger).  After watercoloring them, I fussy-cut them out and diecut them using the Stitched Rounded Rectangle (Die-Namics) so they would fit perfectly on another piece of watercolor paper that I diecut with the same die.  I also colored a couple of "lone" primroses and adhered them along with some vellum cut Feathers (Spellbinders).

I thought the sentiments from the Good Thinking Renewal (Power Poppy) set fit perfectly for the start of a New Year, so I added one to the top, and one to a tag.  I also added some flags using the Stitched Fishtail Flag die (Die-Namics), and a cut-out panel using Stitched Basic Edges (Die-Namics).  Everything listed, as well as the paper (Wish Seasons by Fancy Pants) is new to me, and was fun to put all together.

That's it for my project.  For some more inspiration, check out my fellow Bloom Brigaders.  These gals have some serious skilz!!!
Thank you so very much for stopping by!  I hope you'll find time to play along with our Power and Spark Challenge this month.

Happy Stamping!

Waltzingmouse Pajama Party

http://waltzingmouse.blogspot.com/
We're having a Waltzingmouse Pajama Party, and there are 4 fantastic inspirational challenges to get your creative juices flowing!  Check out the Waltzingmouse Blog for all the details on how you can participate.

I think today's card fits under two challenge categories:  Shower with Gifts and Gift Card it.
I put my tag on the card instead of leaving it separate, and used a variety of stamp sets along with the Stitched Tag die (Waltzingmouse): Little Darlings Images, Little Darlings Sentiments, Pinstripe and Zig Zag Backgrounders

I added the sweet little sentiment along the top to finish it off.  It's a horizontal sentiment from the Little Darlings Images set.  I just used some Ink Isolation (Tutorial) to put the words on top of each other.

I made my second card for the Bedtime Story sketch challenge and Old Pajamas using the nestie Very Vintage Labels No. 25.  I included images from two other WMS sets too:  You're Lovely and Big Day Additions for the sentiment.

Everything was stamped with Silvery Shimmer Delicata and embossed with Silver ep (Ranger).  The banner was made with tassels that I diecut using Banner Basics 2 (Spellbinders).

That about sums up today's projects.  Thank you so much for stopping by.

   Happy Stamping!

Power Poppy Preview ~ Merry Littles

http://powerpoppy.com/products/merry-littles

Hello stamping friends!!  We are featuring the cutest set of "Little" images and they are so much fun to work with.  I needed two little gift bags for a couple of friends of mine, and thought it would be fun to make little "tag pockets" on the front instead of hanging tags from the handles.  And this set:  Merry Littles, has the perfect images for such pockets and tags.

For my first pocket, I colored the "Little" poinsettia with Copics and popped up the center of it to give it dimension.  I stamped the sentiment, "be Merry" with Smokey Gray Versafine.

For the tag inside, I inked up the pinecone branch with Pistachio, Olive Grove and Rich Cocoa Memento Inks.  "Peace on Earth" is from the set "Oh Holy Night" and was stamped with Smokey Gray Versafine.

For my second gift bag, I only used stamps on the inside tag.  All the rest was made with decorative papers.

I stamped the sentiment "Good Cheer" with Gray Flannel Memento Ink and colored the berries and holly leaf with Copics.  The tree was stamped with Old Olive, Rich Cocoa and Toffee Crunch Memento Inks.

That's it for my projects today.  Be sure to stop by the following Bloom Brigade Blogs for some more Inspiration:
Copics:  R37, R35, R32, Y04

Thank you so much for dropping by today.  Stop in again tomorrow.  I have a detailed sparkly project to share.

   Happy Stamping!
