Spice It Up ~ Power Poppy October Release

Welcome back!!  It's Day 2 of our Power Poppy Release preview, and we're sharing a charming set called Spice It Up!  It has a variety of Pomander images, and I chose to use the small one to make a tag for a candle.

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
Now, we're farmers, and when our local town added a Tractor Supply store, my husband was ecstatic to say the least.  Little did I know that store would have items that appealed to me too.  Last time I was there (picking up food and treats for our dog), I saw the cutest variety of cast iron shapes with candles in them.  I thought the star shape would be a grand idea for a sweet little Christmas gift and the pomander image and sentiment would fit perfectly.  Thus the inspiration for the tag.  I colored it with Copics, added a few dew drops and of course some twine.  It is "country" after all.  ;)

Below is a close up of the tag.

That's it for me today.  Check out what the rest of the Bloom Brigade has to share:
CopicsPomander ~ E35, E34, E31, W6, W4, W0 Ribbon ~ BG49, BG45, BG10 Berries ~ R29, R24, R21 Leaves ~ G28, G24, YG03

Thanks so much for dropping by.  Be sure to stop by again tomorrow for another preview of Marcella's beautiful images!!

  Happy Stamping!

Catch up over coffee...

Hello creative friends!  I have a Waltzingmouse Stamps card to share with you today.  Claire recently released a few new stamp sets, along with coordinating and accessory dies that are just beyond fabulous!    I actually used a few for today's card.  First of all, I started by stamping two of the sweet little mugs from the new Coffee Set, and diecutting them using WMS's new Coffee Set Dies.  The tag was diecut using the largest tag from the Stitched Tag Die set.

The borders edging the striped paper were made using one of the dies from the new Brogues Die set.  Doesn't the bottom look like a sweet little strip of lace?  For the top, I just carefully cut right under the stitching portion eliminating the bottom, holey part.

Lastly, I added some sequins , ribbon, and a fun little glittered heart.

That about sums it all up.  Thank you for dropping by.  Be sure to check out all the new goodies at Waltzingmouse Stamps.  Claire has a beautiful new website that's fun to look around.

  Happy Stamping!

Waltzingmouse Pajama Party

For my Power Poppy post, click HERE.

It's the 14th, and that means it's time for another Pajama Party over at Waltzingmouse Stamps.  For all the party details, or to enter your project, click HERE.

I made two projects today.  The first is for the "Wrap it up warm" challenge.  I made a box out of Kraft cardstock, scored at 1/4' intervals, and ink distressed it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink (Ranger).  I made a bow out of burlap ribbon, and some fancy trim, and added a stamped tag, because a gift is not complete without a tag right?  I used three WMS sets on this tag:  Festive Foliage, Warm Fuzzies, and Elf Made.  The tag was made with a WMS die called Stitched Tags.  My flakes are a little goopy, but I liked them that way.  They stamp clear and beautiful if you use Versamark ink and embossing powder.  I used a thick white, wet pigment ink, and was stamping them while the paper was still in the die.  That made the lines less defined because of the pressure required to stamp over the die.

The "Helicopter pods" (that's what we called them as kids.  I have no idea what their technical name is.) were "Rock-n-Rolled with Olive Grove and Rich Cocoa Memento Inks.  The berries were colored with Copics.

My next project is for the "Old Pajamas" challenge to use Candy Jar Christmas sets.  I tell ya, Mrs. Claus can be a difficult lady.  I couldn't get the framing right.  Ovals, embossing powders, white on black, or black on white.  We finally both agreed this was good.  I thought she looked very authoritative in this silhouette, so the Candy Jar sentiment "Been Good?" seemed appropriate.  :)

That's it for today's projects.  I hope you have entered some projects for the challenges.  The more you enter, the better chance you have of winning some Waltzingmouse Store credit!

Thanks for visiting!!

  Happy Stamping!

Power Poppy Preview ~ Merry Littles

http://powerpoppy.com/products/merry-littles

Hello stamping friends!!  We are featuring the cutest set of "Little" images and they are so much fun to work with.  I needed two little gift bags for a couple of friends of mine, and thought it would be fun to make little "tag pockets" on the front instead of hanging tags from the handles.  And this set:  Merry Littles, has the perfect images for such pockets and tags.

For my first pocket, I colored the "Little" poinsettia with Copics and popped up the center of it to give it dimension.  I stamped the sentiment, "be Merry" with Smokey Gray Versafine.

For the tag inside, I inked up the pinecone branch with Pistachio, Olive Grove and Rich Cocoa Memento Inks.  "Peace on Earth" is from the set "Oh Holy Night" and was stamped with Smokey Gray Versafine.

For my second gift bag, I only used stamps on the inside tag.  All the rest was made with decorative papers.

I stamped the sentiment "Good Cheer" with Gray Flannel Memento Ink and colored the berries and holly leaf with Copics.  The tree was stamped with Old Olive, Rich Cocoa and Toffee Crunch Memento Inks.

That's it for my projects today.  Be sure to stop by the following Bloom Brigade Blogs for some more Inspiration:
Copics:  R37, R35, R32, Y04

Thank you so much for dropping by today.  Stop in again tomorrow.  I have a detailed sparkly project to share.

   Happy Stamping!

Waltzingmouse May Release Hop

Hello Waltzingmouse Fans! It's Saturday, and that means we've finally arrived to Release Day!! And...you have a chance to win some awesome Waltzingmouse goodies too!! All you have to do is leave comments on each post along the hop, and you will be eligible to win a gift certificate that is equal to the amount of a large Waltzingmouse Stamp set.   You have until midnight on Monday to do so.  Claire will announce the winner on Tues., May 6.   So, don't forget to spread the love!!

If you've arrived here from Teresa's blog, you are on the right track. If not, you might want to visit the Waltzingmouse Makes Blog so you don't miss a stop.

I have a niece getting married this month, and I thought it would be a perfect time to make a card for her using one of the tags from the Folding Tag die set.  I diecut the tag and then embossed the "Mr. and Mrs." sentiment, from the My Heart set, onto it.  After that, I dry embossed each end of the tag using a horizontal embossing folder, and scored above and beneath the sentiment.  I attached it to my card along with some feathers that I die cut using the WMS Fine Feathers die set.  I had stamped the Fine Feathers with Versamark onto Vellum before die cutting.  Lastly, I added an intricate die cut to the background, some Shabby Chic Flowers I made using ribbon and felt, some sheer flowers, rhinestones, and a beaded pick.

Here's a close-up of the tag so you can see the embossing detail.

I absolutely LOVE the feathers from the Fine Feathers set.  They are so intricately detailed, and emboss beautifully!  I also love how close the die cutting is.  It really helps make the feathers stand out.

That's it for me today.  Next up on the hop, is the super sweet and uber talented Kelly!!

     Happy Stamping my friends!!

Waltzingmouse Stamps May Release Preview ~ Day 3

It's day 3 of the Waltzingmouse Release Previews and I have a little 4th of July Favor to share with you.  I thought it would be fun to make a box to put sparklers in and include a "book" of matches on a charming little tag that I made using Waltzingmouse's newest dies called the Folding Tag.

Here's a close-up of the tag closed with the "book" on top of it.  I made the book just by wrapping a mini box of matches with Live by the Sea dp by Maja Designs.  The sentiment on the book cover is from the WMS set USA 1776 set, as well as the Happy 4th of July sentiment I stamped on the top.

When you open up the tag, I included the "enjoy" sentiment from the new stamp set Tag Collection 1.

Here you can see the matches inside the book.

That's it for today's project.  The new release will be available tomorrow!!  Woo-Hoo!!  I'm looking forward to sharing tomorrow's project with you.  I included yet one more tag.  LOVE tags.  They're such a sweet addition to any project.

Here's a list of those hopping today:

Waltzingmouse Stamps May Release Preview ~ Day 2

For my Power Poppy card, click HERE.

It's day two for our Waltzingmouse previews, and today we're showcasing a sweet little Stitched Tag die set.  I decided to make a 4th of July patriotic card, using the largest tag in this set. I tucked it in a little pocket I made on the card base using Spellbinders' A2 Curved Borders One die set.  I then added some sweet little pinwheels to the tag using the WMS set Playful Pinwheels, and the sentiments on the card and tag are from the set USA 1776.

That's it for my project today, but be sure to check out what the other DT members have to share.  We've all made projects featuring different holidays.

Be sure to stop by tomorrow.  We have more dies to share.  ;)
           Happy Stamping!

Waltzingmouse Stamps May Release Preview ~ Day 1

For my Power Poppy post, click HERE.

Hello Waltzingmouse friends!!  I have some super fun themed goodies to share with you the next few days and I can't wait for you to see what Claire has up her sleeve for this month.  We have new stamps and dies to show you and, being a die-aholic, this is a dream release for me.  Today we're just sharing the new stamp set though, called Tag Collection 1.  And it has the perfect sentiments for whatever gift or tag you need it to attach to.

I made a sweet little bag using my We R Memory Keepers Gift Bag Punch Board, and attached this darling little sentiment using the Spellbinders die Medallion 2.   The sentiment was colored with Copics, cut out and mounted onto the tag with dimensional tape.  See the little hearts where the handle is attached to?  Just a sneak peek of one little part of the dies being previewed in the next couple of days.  I finished the little tag off with a charming tassel, and voila...a perfect little gift for Mother's Day, or any friend you have an occasion to share with.

My next two cards use two sentiments from the Tags Collection 1 set.  I decided to make a clean and simple card using some primary colors and dry embossing to give it a masculine look.  But I wanted to try a monochromatic or Ombre style too.  Thus, this next card.

Here's a list of the gals hopping along today with inspirational samples you just have to see:

That's it from me today.

Heads up:  Stop by the Waltzingmouse Team Talk Blog.  I shared some sweet little CAS tags there a few hours ago.  I made them for a Breast Cancer Research Fund Raiser.   Don't forget to stop by tomorrow.  I have a fun Holiday card to share with you.
Happy Stamping my friends!
