Power Poppy Hop ~ The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge

http://www.thedailymarker.com/2018/06/day-1-the-daily-marker-30-day-coloring-challenge/

Hello, hello, hello!!!  I am hopping along with some super creative and fun Power Poppy Design Team members today to encourage participation in Kathy's Racoosin's 30 day Coloring Challenge.  This challenge is designed to encourage you to color something (anything), with whatever type medium you choose, for 10 minutes each day for the next 30 days. I color most every day, but I always forget, or am too shy, to share my progress.  It's something I am working on.

I actually totally forgot to take some progressive shots of the progress of this card, and I'm sorry I did.  It was quite the process for how it got here.  I will show you, however, the original finished card at the end of this post.  I kept looking at it, and looking at it, and something felt off.  I asked my trustworthy daughter (she is ALWAYS honest if I ask her what she thinks about a project), and she didn't like that the heart matched the background.

Before I get more into the story, let me explain this card first.  I started by creating the background with Power Poppy's Big Sexy Leaves background stamp.  I inked it up randomly with 3 different Distress Oxide inks:  Forest Moss, Gathered Twigs, and Fired Brick.  I then liberally spritzed it with water and stamped it onto watercolor paper using my Misti.  The Misti was a handy tool because after I heat set the wet image, with my heat tool, I was able to stamp perfectly over the watercolored image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink giving it the look you see here.

Next, I colored up a variety of flowers, from the new Power Poppy set called Abundant Petals, and arranged them in a bouquet.  I had colored the open tulip 3 different ways, but none of them made it to the bouquet because I just didn't think the colors worked together.

After arranging the flowers the way I wanted them, I adhered them to the card and added a sweet little sentiment flag using a sentiment from the Abundant Petals set.

Oh, and I should add...I used Copics for all the coloring, and added E31 to all the flowers and leaves to tone down the colors so they would flow better with the muted background.

Here's a look at the card before I changed the heart:

So, that sums up my coloring project for today.  I hope you are inspired to get coloring!!

Before I include the links to the Power Poppy designers participating in today's hop, I have one more thing I want to share with you.

I thought you might like to know that Marcella is offering a special on the Burst of Kindness Stamp set and the digital Spring Meadow Bouquet.  It's a sweet deal!!

Rosé All Day ~ Power Poppy Digital

Happy Monday!!!  I usually only post on Friday, but Marcella has a new, incredible digital floral collage image, and the Bloom Brigade was invited to participate today.  How could I resist this?  She's calling it Rosé All Day, and it's available for purchase right now!!!

Power Poppy is starting something new this year.  Each month, we're going to feature a "color story".  It could be monochromatic, or a certain color family.  And this month, we're focusing on flowers that are naturally red, pink or white.  Don't worry though...you are not limited to these colors.  You are welcome to let your imagination soar.  This is just an inspiration; a starting point.  I chose to keep most of my colors in the red/pink family.  I added some neutrals (browns and grays) to the brushes, and of course, the bees are yellow.  ;)  I also added some sparkle to the bee wings with the Clear Wink of Stella pen.  It's subtle, but if you click on the picture below, you should be able to see it better.

Also...we have some really exciting news to share.  Kathy Racoosin will be featuring Rosé All Day on the first day of her January 15th - Feb 15th  30-Day Coloring Challenge.

For my card today, I used a new Power Poppy Digital image called Vintage Easter Egg.  I went quite literal, and colored the image with a vintage color palette in mind using muted colors.  I also ink distressed around the circle, using Antique Linen (Ranger Distress Ink) to age it up a bit.

A few diecuts were used too.  The background panel was cut using Avery Elle's Double Pierced Rectangle Die.  The Stitched circle is from Couture Cuts, and the Scalloped Die is from Spellbinders.  I added some seam binding ribbon and some sweet sequins by Pretty Pink Posh too, as well as a felt heart that I diecut using Primitive Hearts by Sizzix.  The decorative paper is from Pion Design.
Copics:   Egg ~ E43, E42, E41, E40 Bow ~ V99, V95, V93, V91 Flower and Frame ~ RV99, RV95, RV93, RV91 Leaves ~ G29, G46, G24, G43, G40 Small Flowers ~ YR27, YR24, Y19 Background ~ W5, W3, W1, W0

Magnolia Sunshine and a challenge with Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/
Happy Friday my creative friends!!!  I'm excited to share a couple of Power Poppy cards with you today.

Power Poppy is buzzing this week!!!  First off, Marcella is introducing a new digital image called Magnolia Sunshine

This bouquet is filled with some of Marcy's mother's favorite flowers, and is a delightful burst of Spring!!  I made mine a bit large and diecut a portion of it.  It's colored with Copics and sprinkled with a touch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU!).  I used the A2 Divine Eloquence die, as well as Labels 28 (Spellbinders) to frame the image and added some Shabby White Embossing Enamel (Stampendous) to it, as well as some Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh).  Stop by the Power Poppy Blog to see what the Instant Gardeners have to share, as well as my fellow Bloomie, Christine!!

Since this is the first Friday of the month, Power Poppy is introducing a new Power and Spark challenge by Ally.  She's challenging us to "Switch up our Shades".  That means, she wants us to use a different coloring medium than we usually do.  Since I tend to go straight for my Copics, I decided to use my Distress Markers for my next card.

I started by stamping the backpack image, from the Well Played set (Power Poppy), with Versamark, onto some watercolor paper.  I then embossed it with some Black ep (Ranger) and colored it with my Distress Markers and a water pen.  That's it.  I went totally monochromatic!

Check out the following Bloom Brigaders for some more creative inspiration:

So, I've mentioned two new things, but there is one more....

Power Poppy is being featured on the Daily Marker Blog as a team that is playing along in Kathy Racoosin’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge!  Be sure to stop by and check it all out!!

You Take Awesomeness to a whole new level...

Do you like to color?  I love it!  In fact, I haven't stopped coloring since I was a little kid.  Although, I now use other mediums than crayons and Crayola Markers.  Actually, I have been using Copics a lot lately, but I also enjoy watercoloring.  So...Why did I ask you about coloring?

http://www.thedailymarker.com/

Well, Power Poppy is joining Kathy Racoosin, over at The Daily Marker, for her 30 Day coloring challenge today, and the Bloom Brigade has colored up a variety of Power Poppy images to share with you.  And guess what...there are prizes to be won too!  So, be sure to head on over to the Power Poppy Blog for all the details on how you can join in on all the fun!!

For my card today, I used 3 different Power Poppy Clear Stamp Sets.  And I'm going to go out on a limb and say this card fits in the Power and Spark Challenge: Bits and Pieces because I took a succulent from the Sassy Succulents set, and used it to replace the tulips in this Short Stack image, so I could make it fit a bit more in the Fall season, and the sentiment is from the
Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips set...thus, Bits and Pieces from different sets.  ;)

Everything was colored with Copics.  Actually a little out of my box where colors are concerned, but I hope you like it.

Now, for some more inspiration, make sure you visit the following Bloom Brigade Blogs:
CopicsRed Package ~ R39, R37, R35, R32 RV95, RV93, RV91 Bottom Package ~ E95, E93, E01, E31, YG95, YG93, YG91, YG97, T3, T1, T0 Succulent ~ YG95, YG93, YG91, YG97, V12, V06,
Cupcake ~ RV95, RV91, E95, E93, E01, E31

That's it for me today.  Be sure to stop by the Power Poppy Blog for details on how you can win a Power Poppy Stamp set, as well as other goodies!

   Happy Stamping!
