Magnolia Sunshine and a challenge with Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/
Happy Friday my creative friends!!!  I'm excited to share a couple of Power Poppy cards with you today.

Power Poppy is buzzing this week!!!  First off, Marcella is introducing a new digital image called Magnolia Sunshine

This bouquet is filled with some of Marcy's mother's favorite flowers, and is a delightful burst of Spring!!  I made mine a bit large and diecut a portion of it.  It's colored with Copics and sprinkled with a touch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU!).  I used the A2 Divine Eloquence die, as well as Labels 28 (Spellbinders) to frame the image and added some Shabby White Embossing Enamel (Stampendous) to it, as well as some Sequins (Pretty Pink Posh).  Stop by the Power Poppy Blog to see what the Instant Gardeners have to share, as well as my fellow Bloomie, Christine!!

Since this is the first Friday of the month, Power Poppy is introducing a new Power and Spark challenge by Ally.  She's challenging us to "Switch up our Shades".  That means, she wants us to use a different coloring medium than we usually do.  Since I tend to go straight for my Copics, I decided to use my Distress Markers for my next card.

I started by stamping the backpack image, from the Well Played set (Power Poppy), with Versamark, onto some watercolor paper.  I then embossed it with some Black ep (Ranger) and colored it with my Distress Markers and a water pen.  That's it.  I went totally monochromatic!

Power Poppy October Release!!

Hello Power Poppy fans!!  You can now head on over to Power Poppy to purchase the new Christmas sets we've been enticing you with these past few days.  I'm so excited!!  Marcy pulled out all the stops on these sets.  They're gorgeous and charming all at the same time!!  Check out all the details HERE.

I saved one of my favorite cards for last.  This stocking can be found in the Poinsettia set and is just charming with it's gorgeous poinsettia adorning the top, and all the yummy filling inside.  I stamped it, with Onyx Black Versafine, onto water color paper and embossed it using Black Embossing Powder (Ranger).  I then colored it using Distress Markers and a Water Pen. (I'll list the markers I used at the end of this post.)

I just recently purchased a Fabric Weave embossing folder from Spellbinders, and thought it would go beautifully with this image and the rustic look I was going for.  I just inked up the inside with Whisper White pigment ink (SU!), and ran it through my Cuttlebug.  I love the effect I got with that.  I embossed a piece of Smokey Shadow (PTI) cardstock for the left panel, and added some gorgeous new Prima burlap trim along with some burlap string, and there you have it.

Now, I'm always the caboose on these hops (Since my name starts with a letter near the end of the alphabet..;) but if you missed a stop along the way, here's a list of our sweet and talented Bloom Brigade and our fearless leader, artist extraordinaire, and just plain genuine soul, Marcella Hawley!!  Yes, she's just that awesome!!

Distress Markers:  Fired Brick, Faded Jeans, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, Pumice Stone, Gathered Twigs, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Black Soot

I hope you've been inspired!  I've so enjoyed sharing my ideas with ya'll!!

     Happy Stamping!

Sending Sunshine

Wow!!  Do you feel like this Summer is flying by?  We're already half way through July!!  Crazy!
Well, since it's Friday, I have a Power Poppy inspiration to share with you.

I have a dear, dear friend who is going a round with cancer for the 3rd time and my heart is just breaking for her and her family.  They live 2000 miles away, so there is little I can do to help.  So, I thought I'd send her a "Box of Sunshine".  You may have seen this idea floating around Pinterest.  I have a variety of yellow gifts I'm going to send her, so of course I had to make a card with a yellow theme to send with them.

Marcy's Peonies, from the Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips set, are just so lovely and soothing to me.  So I decided I wanted them to be my focal point.   I stamped them with Versamark onto Water color paper, embossed them with White ep, and colored them with Distress Markers.  There are beautiful sentiments included in this set too.  I just couldn't fit them on the front of my card.

The background dp is, appropriately called "On the Sunny Side".  I also added some Corrugated Tape and some Seam Binding that I tied using the Bow-it-All.

Now, for more details on how you can be the Power Poppy Peep of the week, click HERE, or on the graphic.
