Luminous Bouquet ~ Power Poppy

Hello, hello, hello creative peeps!!  It's FRIDAY!!!!  And that means I get to share my latest Power Poppy creation with you!  I had a super fun time playing with Power Poppy's Digital set called Luminous Bouquet.  It has a stunning Japanese Poppy as its centerpiece and is beautifully enhanced by clusters of Hydrangea petals, Clemanits and Oxalis leaves.

I started by opening a blank page in Photoshop and added the image to the three corners.  But, when I wanted to add the sentiment, it didn't fit right.  So, I thought, why not manipulate it.  It's really easy and if you're interested in knowing how I did it, check out the Power Poppy Blog Sept. 4 for a tutorial.

I've included a closeup below so you can see the sparkle (that I added using a Quickie Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds (SU!) glitter), and the distressed background.  I achieved that by laying the Speckles stencil (Tim Holtz) over the colored portion, and, with a cotton ball, I dabbed Colorless Blending Solution over it. I colored the flowers AFTER distressing my background.

That sums up my project for now.  For some more inspiration, check out the following Bloom Brigade Blogs:

For my card today, I used a new Power Poppy Digital image called Vintage Easter Egg.  I went quite literal, and colored the image with a vintage color palette in mind using muted colors.  I also ink distressed around the circle, using Antique Linen (Ranger Distress Ink) to age it up a bit.

A few diecuts were used too.  The background panel was cut using Avery Elle's Double Pierced Rectangle Die.  The Stitched circle is from Couture Cuts, and the Scalloped Die is from Spellbinders.  I added some seam binding ribbon and some sweet sequins by Pretty Pink Posh too, as well as a felt heart that I diecut using Primitive Hearts by Sizzix.  The decorative paper is from Pion Design.
Copics:   Egg ~ E43, E42, E41, E40 Bow ~ V99, V95, V93, V91 Flower and Frame ~ RV99, RV95, RV93, RV91 Leaves ~ G29, G46, G24, G43, G40 Small Flowers ~ YR27, YR24, Y19 Background ~ W5, W3, W1, W0

That sums up my card for today.

In Praise of Sunflowers ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products /in-praise-of-sunflowers/
Hello again friends!!  I'm back again with another Power Poppy card to share today featuring the clear stamp set In Praise of Sunflowers.  Isn't that a great name for a set?  I ADORE sunflowers.  They are one of my absolute favorite flowers, and this set has two fabulous sunflower images that were originally released as digital.  Now, you can get both images along with some unique building sentiments.

I stamped the sunflower four times, colored them, and cut them out in layers for a 3-D effect.  I also burnished the backs of the center and leaves for some additional texture.  I colored this baby awhile back, and forgot to record the Copics I used, so I'm sorry that I can't provide the list.  But here's a close up angled view so you can see the dimension a bit better.

Now, for some more fabulous inspiration, check out the following Bloom Brigader Blogs:
That's it for today.  Stop by tomorrow for a preview of another fabulous Power Poppy set!

Sunshine and Sweet Simple Things ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/sunshine-of-my-life
Hello, hello, HELLO!!!  This is quite the inspiration filled Friday, let me tell ya!!  The Instant Gardeners, as well as some of Bloom Brigade members, are sharing a gorgeous new Power Poppy Digital image called Sunshine of my life!!  And it's a beauty!! I also have a second card to share with you using the Power Poppy Digital image Sweet Simple Things.  There's a lot of color flowing today.

First, for my Sunshine card, I made the image 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" with only part of the image showing with a sentiment (included with this digital set) I added using Photoshop.  If I'm honest, I wish I had moved the sentiment down and to the right a little bit, but until I diecut it, it looked great.  I didn't diecut it until after I'd finished coloring, and with the plethora of Copics that I used, I wasn't about to start over.  *grin*

I took an easy way out with this card a bit.  Jennifer Dove has fabulous "Color of the Day" tags, and since I knew I wanted to use a variety of colors on the vase and flowers, I thought I'd use her already designed combinations.  The Vase uses Split Pea Soup, Gopher, Chartreuse, Patina, then Split Pea Soup and Gopher again.  The Patina was used on the next stripe too, but it got mostly cut off.   I used Transition Red for the two bottom sunflowers and my own color combination for the other three.  I also used her Dragon combination for the leaves and stems.

CopicsBottom Sunflower Petals ~ R59, YR18, YR15, Y02 Bottom Sunflower Centers ~  E79, E57, E35, E33, E31 Top Sunflower Petals ~ Y38, Y19, Y15 Top Sunflower Centers ~ E89, E87, E84, E81, Leaves ~ YG67, YG63, YG03 Vase ~ YG95, YG93, YR23, E79, E57, E35, E33, E31, YG95, YG93, YG21, BG49, BG15, BG13, BG11

That's it for my first card.  For my second, I colored the Digital Image Sweet Simple Things.  I adore Bee Skeps and have quite a collection, so of course I had to color this baby up as soon as I had the chance.

Didn't Marcy design the most charming image?  Seriously!!  I LOVE this, and had a delightful time coloring it.  I wanted the Bee Skep to have as much dimension as I could achieve, so I colored each individual layer.  The sentiment is from one of the new Clear Stamp sets called Everything's Even Rosier.  I love how Marcy scripted the word "hello".

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2016/07/time-to-b-happy.html
Now, this card also fits this month's creative Power and Spark Challenge designed by our dear, sweet, talented Aussie, Kathy!!  She's challenging everyone to "B" Happy and include as many "B" things on your card that you want.  On this card I have Bees, a Bee Skep, a Bench, a Banner, Burlap String, and Black dots.  I think that about covers it.  ;)

CopicsBee Skep ~ E59, E37, E34, T10, T7, T2 Bench ~ W8, W6, W4, W2 Foxglove ~ YR09, YR04, YR00, RV23 Daisies ~ BV31, Y18, Y08 Leaves and Grass ~ YG99, YG17, YG13, YG11 Background ~ E43, E41, E40

Reel Deal ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/leaping-trout
Hello my creative friends!!  Power Poppy is releasing 3...yep 3 digital sets today, and they are perfect for the guys in your lives.  Reel Deal, Leaping Trout and Fly Guy.  I decided to use the Leaping Trout with sentiments from the set Reel Deal.  The image is colored with Copics with some Clear Wink of Stella added to it.  Because if you've ever seen fish scales in the sunlight, they are beautiful and sparkly.  I lightened the sentiment "You're the Reel Deal" in Photoshop, and ink distressed using
http://powerpoppy.com/products/reel-deal
Antique Linen and Forrest Moss (Ranger Distress Ink)

Below is a close-up of the image so you can see the sparkle.  If you click on it, it's a bit easier to see, however Wink of Stella is hard to see in photos.

That sums up my card for today.  Nothing too detailed, because my husband is a simple kind of guy.  He totally misses all the extras I usually add.  ;)

Copics:   Fish ~ BG99BG96, BG93, BG90, YG00, C1, C0, C00, R00 Water ~ B26, B24, B21, B000
