Blue/Silver Wedding Cake ~ Power Poppy

Happy Friday!!!  I don't know about you, but I've really been enjoying this month's Power and Spark Challenge to use the new Card Maps sketches by Page Maps!  I had a nephew get married right after Christmas and their colors were navy blue and silver.  I added a pop of red because...shoot...it was only a couple of days after Christmas.  I just had to.  ;)

http://www.pagemaps.com/cardmaps
Anyway, I used one of the Card Maps sketches, Power Poppy's Dream Wedding Clear stamp set, some beautiful Kaisercraft dp and my Copics to make this sweet wedding card.  I also added a bit of sparkle...I mean, it is for a celebration, so of course sparkle is a necessity.

Copics:  C7, C5, C3, C1, C00, B97, B95, B93, B91, BG75, BG72, BG70, R39, R37, R35

That's it for my project today, for some more inspiration, check out the following blogs:

So glad you dropped by.  Hope you were inspired to try one of the Card Map Sketches.  If you do, link your creation up HERE . If you play along, you'll be in the running to win a $50 Shopping Spree to the Power Poppy Shop!  The Pagemaps contest closes January 22nd, so hop on over soon! We can't wait to see what you create.

Happy Stamping!

Winter Wonderland Portion Control ~ Power Poppy

Happy Friday!!  Shoot...Happy November!!  This is my favorite month because this is when we get our Fall colors in Central California, and when the weather finally starts to get cooler!!  The 60's are projected for this whole next week, with a few showers thrown in the mix.  That is HUGE!!  We need rain so badly!

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
So, since it's a new month, that means it's time for a new Power Poppy Power and Spark challenge and the super talented Cindy has come up with a fun one.  We are to practice portion control.  That means, use only portions of an image on your project.  We'd love to have you join us too.  You could win a $50 shopping spree if you do!!  Now, how can you pass up that opportunity!!

I decided it would be fun to make a Double Gatefold card with a belly band.  I haven't done that in many years!!!  If you'd like a tutorial, a good one can be found HERE on Splitcoaststampers.  I used the new Winter Wonderland image that I diecut using Gold Labels Four (Spellbinders).  I cut it in half, and added it to the front of my double fold along with a belly band to hold it closed.

The sentiment on the inside is from the new Flowering Santa set.  I love mixing and matching sets.  It gives you so many more options.

Here's a close up of the closed card and it's belly band.  The sentiment is from the new Glitter House Village set.  If you haven't seen the new Happiest Holiday 2017 collection yet, be sure to visit the Power Poppy store and check it out.  These sets are all quite incredible!!

Peony Muse ~ Power Poppy

Hello, Hello, Hello!!!  I am so excited to be posting again.  I am just in love with the newly released set Peony Muse!!!  Seriously...IN...LOVE!!!  These blooms are just a delight to color and they are so full of dimension!  I also love that each one is separate with a variety of leaf groupings and berries!  The floral collages one can create are just endless!!

I wanted a bunch of vintagey layers, so I used a variety of dies, each individual bloom and a bunch of leaves and berries!!  I colored each one up with Copics, cut them out and burnished each one to give it some extra dimension!  I also added some Nuvo Mother of Pearl Embellishment Mousse to all the diecut pieces to give it a touch of vintage elegance.

Here's a bit of a profile pic so you can see the shimmer a bit.  If you click on the image, it shows it even more.

That's about it folks.  But there is some more inspiration for ya!!  If you haven't stopped by the following Bloom Brigade blogs...you really should.  These gals have serious creative skills!!

Loving Tulips ~ Power Poppy Release Previews

Hello creative friends!  Have you been enjoying all the Power Poppy Previews?  Isn't Marcy incredibly talented?  I swear, she knows just what 's needed to add to our ever (delightfully) growing stamp collections!!  Today Power Poppy is once again featuring two new stamp sets:  Loving Tulips and Sweet Memories

I fell in love with this dotted "hello" the minute I saw it!  I have another fun idea I'll be sharing next week with it too.  So many ideas!!  I started by stamping the "hello" sentiment onto vellum cardstock (PTI) with Black Onyx Versafine.  I like that ink because it stamps really clean onto all surfaces.  However, you HAVE TO WAIT until it dries!!  And it takes awhile on the vellum because it can't soak into the paper.

I backed the circle with the same dp that I framed it with and diecut it using the Scallop Circle die by Pretty Pink Posh.  The sweet little Scallop Border was also diecut using a Pretty Pink Posh die.

Lastly, I added the darling sentiment and a charming little punched daisy to finish it off.

No coloring today peeps.  Just stamps and ink.

For some more inspiration, check out the blogs of my fellow Bloomies.  These gals have some serious creative skills!!

Once again, I have another preview to share with you tomorrow.  It's quite the unique set and is just lovely!!  So I hope you'll drop by again.

  Happy Stamping!

Sweet Pea Show ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
Hello, hello, hello!!!  Friday has arrived!!!  And that means it's time to share some fabulous Power Poppy creations.  And today...be still my heart!!  Marcella has designed an absolutely delightful Sweet Pea image that has stolen my heart!!  I needed four cards for four very special ladies this weekend, so I decided to print this new digital Power Poppy image, called Sweet Pea Show, four times in two different sizes and diecut different pieces of it.

Now, my color combination has no rhyme or reason to it, and I'm sorry for that.  I decided to color the images, and then I chose the papers that best coordinated with my coloring.  So, they aren't cohesive.  The sentiments were all embossed and are from two different Power Poppy Clear sets:  Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips and Simply Camellias.

I punched a butterfly for this one and colored it with the same Copics as the flowers.  The center of the butterfly was made using Ebony Black Gloss Crystal drops with a bit of black glitter sprinkled over it while wet.

I added different Nuvo Crystal drops in various patterns and colors to each card.

For the "You're Simply Sweet" card, I also clear embossed the entire diecut piece to coordinate with the embossed dp I used from Kaisercraft.

Copics: Sweet Peas Plum ~ BV08, BV04, BV02, BV01 Magenta ~ V17, V15, V12, V01 Tape ~ T6, T4, T2, T0 Fuschia ~ RV34, RV32, RV10 Turquoise ~ B04, B02, B00 Leaves/Stems ~ G29, G46, G24, G20, YG01

Dynamic Duos: Foxglove and Ranunculus ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/foxglove-and-ranunculusHello once again!!  I hope y'all have been enjoying the Power Poppy previews these past couple of days!!  Well, I have another to share with you.  It's an image that was originally digital, but for those of you who like to work with stamps, this Foxglove image will now be available as a clear stamp.  The set will include two favorite floral images and is called Dynamic Duos: Foxglove and Ranunculus.

Once again, I colored the image with Copics, and diecut it using an oval frame called Oval Majesty (Spellbinders).  I also added a topper using just the top piece of a diecut square called Floral Assortment (Spellbinders).  Lastly, I added some sequins...no surprise there.  ;)

Maize for Days ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/collections/digital-stamps/products/maize-for-days
Heeeellllllloooo friends!!!  I am so excited to share today's Power Poppy card with you.  Fall is my absolute favorite season, and Marcy has designed an absolutely fantastic new digi set that I just adore!!  It's called Maize For Days and the main image is a bunch of Indian Corn.  I LOVE Indian Corn.  I even have some displayed in my kitchen right now along with one of my favorite things to collect...pumpkins.
And isn't this corn grouping just fabulous?  Seriously!!  And Marcy got "puny" this time too with 3 charming sentiments to go along with it.

I used so many different Copics on this image, I won't even begin to list them, but it was super fun to color, and it really didn't take much time at all.
http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/Since it's the beginning of a new month, we have a new Power and Spark challenge hosted by the sweet Bloomie Kathy.  We are to "embellish" to our heart's content.  I used sequins, some gold fiber, and a gold enamel dot.  I also used a border punch as well as a couple of dies.

That's it for my project today.  Be sure to stop by the following Bloom Brigade Blogs if you haven't already.  These gals have got some serious skilz!!!

Thank you so much for dropping by!!  I hope you have a beautiful weekend!!

Happy Birthday Old Bean

Hello friends!  Happy 4th of July!!  I hope you all have a safe holiday today.  I'm so grateful for all the freedoms I get to appreciate here in America, and for the soldiers who fight to keep it that way.

I don't have a patriotic card to share today, and am sorry.  I needed a masculine card.  I love the sentiment "Happy Birthday Old Bean" from the new Waltzingmouse set Coffee Time.  And it has the cutest little bean grinder and beans.  So I inked up the grinder with Celestial Copper Delicata ink (Tsukineko), and embossed it with Aged Copper Embossing Enamel (Stampendous) and Copper ep (Ranger).  The Embossing Enamel is very thick and doesn't work well with detailed images but I wanted the patina it left, so after tapping off the excess, I poured some Copper detailed embossing powder over it and it filled in all the empty spaces.  WMS has a Coffee Time diecut set too which was great for diecutting the little grinder.  It lines up so beautifully!

The sentiment was also embossed with the Copper ep.  I then stamped two sizes of the beans and cut them out.  They were Rock-n-Rolled with Jumbo Java (VersaMagic) and Espresso Truffle (Memento).

That sums up my card for today.  But I want to take a moment to let you know that Waltzingmouse Stamps is having a HUGE SALE (50% to 75% off) and is retiring quite a few sets.  It'd be a great idea to check it out HERE.

  Happy Stamping!

Power Poppy June Release Preview ~ Day 3

For my Waltzingmouse post, click HERE

Welcome to Day 3 of Power Poppy's June Release Preview!  Is this month's release just out of this world or what!!  I tell ya, I am never disappointed with Marcella's creativity and attention to detail.  And this Sassy Succulents set is so "Spot On" and trendy!!!  I adore the sentiments as well as the beautiful variety of succulents.

I decided to use the "no line" coloring technique for my card today, because I wanted the one image to "Stand Out", just as the sentiment suggests:  "Why fit in when you were born to Stand Out?" Dr. Seuss.  What a beautiful quote!!   I stamped the image and sentiment with Pistachio Memento ink and colored it with Copics.  The sentiment flag sentiment was stamped with Smokey Gray Versafine Ink.  The rest is pretty self-explanatory.

That's it for my project today.  If you haven't visited the Bloom Brigade listed below, be sure you do.  Those girls have some serious skills.  Just sayin'....

Here's a list of the Copics I used:  YG95, YG93, YG91, V06, V12, E35, E33, E31, T2, T1, T0, 0

That about sums up today's project.  There's more to share tomorrow, so I hope you'll stop by for a visit!!
