Mix and Match ~ Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
Happy Friday!!!  I hope y'all are ready for a new Power Poppy Power and Spark challenge!  I thought it would be fun to "Mix and Match" some Power Poppy stamp sets this month!!  All you have to do is use at least two different Power Poppy stamp sets on your project.  It could be two clear sets, two digital sets, or if you're feeling really adventurous, use digital and clear!  What!?!?!?  If you only have one Power Poppy set, please don't let that stop you from participating.  Just use it along with whatever else you have.  Or you could just quick purchase a digital set.  It's really quick and easy to do.

Anyway...on to my project.  I combined two Christmas themed digital sets:  Hollyberries and Wreath: Felt Leaves and Fruit.  There is also a Holly image in the clear set called Holly Golightly, but I wanted my image larger and with digital images, I can make them as large as I want.

I started by creating my background with the Hollyberries set in Photoshop.  I printed it out and diecut it using Stitched Rectangles (Waltzingmouse).  I then printed out the Wreath: Felt Leaves and Fruit set separately.

Everything was colored with Copics, and I added a bit of sparkle to the white pom-poms.  Below is a close up so you can see the sparkle better.

For all the details, and how you can participate in this month's Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge, be sure to check out the Power Poppy blog.  We'd love to see how you "Mix it Up"!

Pansy: No line Coloring ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/Hello, Hello, Hello!!  I realize it's not Friday, so this post is probably a bit unexpected, but  today is the release date for a new Power Poppy digital image called Pansies.

Pansies are near and dear to my heart.  My mother's favorite flower was the Pansy, and mine is the Sunflower.  I moved over 2000 miles away when I got married over 27 years ago, so our time together was always very precious.  First thing in the morning, I would get out "our" mugs and we would share a cup of coffee together.  She had her Pansy mug, and I had my Sunflower mug.  These mugs must be at least 25+ years old because she's been gone over 22 years now.  But I still have them, and they are treasured as well as the memories!

Power Poppy has a new challenge for the month too, hosted by our dear, and oh-so-talented Bloom Brigader, Cindy Lawrence.  She is challenging us to use the No line coloring technique.
http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2017/02/february-challenge-say-yes-to-no-lines.html
This card was a challenge for me because this was the very first time I tried the "No line coloring" technique by myself.  (I took some Copic classes where it was taught, but that is quite different from going out on your own...)  It was a challenge, and I have a very long ways to go, but I am happy that I actually tried it.

I printed the image in a light gray and colored it with Copics.  I also used some pointillism in the background, as well as a burnishing technique for the flowers to give them some extra depth and texture.  I posted a "Burnishing" tutorial on the Power Poppy blog a couple of years ago, that you can find it HERE.

That's it for my project.  Now be sure to check out the following Bloom Brigade blogs for some incredible inspiration!

Simply Camellias ~ Power Poppy

Hello creative friends!!  Does Friday seem to sneak up on you sometimes?  I am so lost in my days this week.  It probably has something to do with getting home on Tues. after attending some new Copic Classes and Creativation this past week.  One day melds into the next, and it's hard to keep track.

Well, since it is actually Friday, I have a Power Poppy card to share with you today using one of my favorite sets called Simply Camellias.  I can hardly believe I've never colored this Camellia in a bowl, so I was excited to give it a try.  It's all done with Copics, and the decorative paper is all from Pion.

I used a Viva la Verve Sketch from Aug. 2016 so this card came together pretty quickly...for me anyway.

CopicsFlower ~ R81, R83, R85, R89 Stamens ~ YR00, YR14, YR18 Leaves ~ G20, G24, G28, YG01 Bowl ~ G00

For some more inspiration, stop by the blog of my fellow Bloomie, and dear friend, Stacy.

I hope you have a fantastic creative weekend!!

Sweet Pea Show ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
Hello, hello, hello!!!  Friday has arrived!!!  And that means it's time to share some fabulous Power Poppy creations.  And today...be still my heart!!  Marcella has designed an absolutely delightful Sweet Pea image that has stolen my heart!!  I needed four cards for four very special ladies this weekend, so I decided to print this new digital Power Poppy image, called Sweet Pea Show, four times in two different sizes and diecut different pieces of it.

Now, my color combination has no rhyme or reason to it, and I'm sorry for that.  I decided to color the images, and then I chose the papers that best coordinated with my coloring.  So, they aren't cohesive.  The sentiments were all embossed and are from two different Power Poppy Clear sets:  Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips and Simply Camellias.

I punched a butterfly for this one and colored it with the same Copics as the flowers.  The center of the butterfly was made using Ebony Black Gloss Crystal drops with a bit of black glitter sprinkled over it while wet.

I added different Nuvo Crystal drops in various patterns and colors to each card.

For the "You're Simply Sweet" card, I also clear embossed the entire diecut piece to coordinate with the embossed dp I used from Kaisercraft.

Copics: Sweet Peas Plum ~ BV08, BV04, BV02, BV01 Magenta ~ V17, V15, V12, V01 Tape ~ T6, T4, T2, T0 Fuschia ~ RV34, RV32, RV10 Turquoise ~ B04, B02, B00 Leaves/Stems ~ G29, G46, G24, G20, YG01

#LoveWins ~ Power Poppy

I made a card today just for the fun of it!!  And I had a blast!!  Since the Christmas season is behind us now, I decided to make a Valentine card using Power Poppy's Good Thinking: Love Notes set.

I hauled out my Minc Machine and went to work.  This baby came together rather quickly and I think it turned out fabulous.  I have to mention that I had some help though...I used today's Splitcoaststampers Sketch designed by Power Poppy's very own, Ally.  You can find the sketch HERE.

Both sentiments were foiled using the Minc Machine, and I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the black panel.  I love the sweet little Photo Frame die from Jillian Vance Designs.

That's it.  The sketch was an easy layout, which I thought was perfect for a masculine card.

Thanks for dropping by!!  I hope you are having a fabulous week!

  Happy Stamping!

Feeling Fall ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products /feeling-fall/
Hello, hello, hello!!!  Power Poppy is previewing another set from the new collection Nature and Nurture today, and it is one of my all time favorites called Feeling Fall.   Seriously!!  I used the Welly image for today, and will be sharing the pumpkins tomorrow because I couldn't choose which image to feature.  They're both so unique and A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!!  I colored the image with Copics, and added Glossy Accents to the Welly boot because it has to be shiny and wet looking.  I also added some glitter to my leaves because I have been suffering from "glitter withdrawl".  I've included a close-up below so you can see the shine and glitter a bit better.

Once again, that's it for me today.  But boy-oh-boy do the other Bloomies have some inspirational projects they are sharing today.  They never cease to amaze me with their creativity and coloring!!  So check out their blogs:
Thank you so much for dropping by again!!  I am honored by your kind supportive comments!  Tomorrow is release day, and one more day of previews, so come on by again!!

Happy Stamping!!
