Blue/Silver Wedding Cake ~ Power Poppy

Happy Friday!!!  I don't know about you, but I've really been enjoying this month's Power and Spark Challenge to use the new Card Maps sketches by Page Maps!  I had a nephew get married right after Christmas and their colors were navy blue and silver.  I added a pop of red because...shoot...it was only a couple of days after Christmas.  I just had to.  ;)

http://www.pagemaps.com/cardmaps
Anyway, I used one of the Card Maps sketches, Power Poppy's Dream Wedding Clear stamp set, some beautiful Kaisercraft dp and my Copics to make this sweet wedding card.  I also added a bit of sparkle...I mean, it is for a celebration, so of course sparkle is a necessity.

Copics:  C7, C5, C3, C1, C00, B97, B95, B93, B91, BG75, BG72, BG70, R39, R37, R35

That's it for my project today, for some more inspiration, check out the following blogs:

So glad you dropped by.  Hope you were inspired to try one of the Card Map Sketches.  If you do, link your creation up HERE . If you play along, you'll be in the running to win a $50 Shopping Spree to the Power Poppy Shop!  The Pagemaps contest closes January 22nd, so hop on over soon! We can't wait to see what you create.

Happy Stamping!

Holly Dream Wedding ~ Power Poppy

Hello creative friends!!  I have a rather unusual Power Poppy card to share with you today.  One of my nephews is getting married a couple of days after Christmas and their colors are going to be Blue/Silver.  I thought, why not combine a Christmas image with a bridal image for the card I want to make for the bride-to-be's shower.  So, I started by diecutting a frame and, using my Misti, arranging the holly from the Power Poppy Holly Golightly set, along with the sentiment from the Dream Wedding set.  I embossed the holly with Bridal Tinsel (isn't that just the perfect name for a Christmas wedding card?) embossing powder (Ranger), and just added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the Black Onyx Versafine stamped sentiment.  Everyone knows you need lots of sparkle for a wedding card right?

I colored the shoes with Copics and again, using my Quickie Glue Pen, added some more Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU!) to the outsides of them for a little more festive look.  Below is a close up so you can see the sparkle and tinsel in all its glory.  ;)

Copics:   B97, B95, B93, N6, N4, N2, N0, BG93, BG90

That's it for me y'all!!  But there is a lot of Power Poppy inspiration to be had today.  Check out the following Bloom Brigade blogs if you haven't already!

Power Poppy Wedding Hop

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
One of the most exciting events that we can celebrate is a wedding.   And boy, oh boy, is Marcella and Doug's wedding going to be one to top the charts.  They are both so genuine, creative, fun, happy, charming, delightful, free spirited, warm, welcoming, personable, kind, caring, tender, thoughtful, and empowering people!  Seriously, seeing these two together is a blessing in and of itself.  They truly complete each other and their thoughtfulness and love literally spills out onto all those who are fortunate enough to be in their presence at any given time.

The Power Poppy Design Teams are excited to help in their wedding celebration by putting on a blog hop of the most celebratory kind!!  WEDDING CARDS and sweet little congratulatory notes.

Marcella and Doug!!  I am so happy for the both of you, and am excited to see what God has planned for you together!!!  LOVE ya bunches!!!

Okay...now for the card... I chose to use the Champagne bottle from Power Poppy's Dream Wedding set because, lets face it, Champagne represents celebration!  And Marcella is the most bubbly person I know!  In the absolute best ways possible!!!

I paper pieced the bottle using some watercolor paper that I colored using Distress Inks.  The wrapped top is gold paper, and the bow is vellum that I colored using Copic Markers.

I added Crystal Clear Glass Effect Gel (Viva Decor) dots to the background and sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU!)  After they dried, I diecut the image with an Outside In Stitched Scalloped Squares die by Lawn Fawn.  The Glitter dots were embossed right into the cardstock causing a really cool effect.  LOVE it.  I also added some sparkle to the Champagne bottle with a Quickie Glue Pen and glitter too.  One can never have enough sparkle...just sayin'...

Well...that about sums up my Power Poppy Project for today.  Be sure to visit all the Bloom Brigade and Instant Gardener Blogs.  You won't want to miss a stop, I assure you!!  And please, if you are inclined, stop by the Power Poppy Blog to share some sweet Wedding Wishes for Marcella and Doug!

Dream Wedding ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/dream-weddingHello friends!!  I'm back with another preview of one of Power Poppy's newest Clear Stamp sets that will be released June 28.  Today's card features the cake image from the set Dream Wedding.  And isn't this set so appropriately named?  This cake is seriously a dream.  Keeping with the "dream" theme, I wanted to keep it light and airy so I used really light Copics and left all the berries and blooms white.  I also added some glitter...hello...it's a wedding.  A dreamy one at that.  So glitter was a priority on this card.  *grin*  Lastly, I framed it with a Lacey Oval diecut (Spellbinders), as well as an elegant Gemini Border die (Creative Expressions)

Below is a closer look so you can see the sparkle.  It's very subtle, but it has an elegance about it irl.

That's it for today's card.  Be sure to check out the rest of the Bloom Brigade to see what they have to inspire you with:

Power Poppy June Release Previews ~ Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of Power Poppy's Release Previews.  I have to make this post quick.  I finished this card just in time to take it with us for our niece's wedding.  You've seen this image before...in digital format.  Now, you can have the peonies and tulips in a stamp set with some absolutely exquisite sentiments!  It's called Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips... LOVE it!!  I stamped the Peony image onto Linen Vellum (PTI) with Versamark, and embossed it with white ep.  I then framed it with the Heirloom Legacy Heritage die (Spellbinders) after adding some Gesso to the edges.  I handmade the paper Peony using the Grand Peony die (Spellbinders), and Spun Sugar Ranger Distress Ink.  The leaves were die-cut also using Foliage 2 dies (Spellbinders)

Here's a close up of the embossed Vellum background.  The Peonies are so beautifully detailed!

For the banner flags, I stamped one of the sentiments included in the Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips set, and used a scrap piece of the white embossed vellum I made earlier.

That's it today folks.  You can see what the rest of the Bloom Brigade has to share by following the links below.

Money-filled Vintage Suitcase

I am super excited to share today's project with you.  One of my son's best friends is getting married next month, and I thought it would be fun to include a Honeymoon cash gift packaged in a mini-vintage suitcase made out of cardstock and decorative paper.  I used Lori Whitlock's Silhouette cut-file for the suitcase, and added some decorative paper to the outside using Carta Bella's Well Traveled 6x6 paper pad.  The vintage looking stamps were all hand-cut from one of their paper designs.  I also lined the inside with their papers.  I mean, all vintage suitcases had linings right?

I don't know about you, but I always attach a tag to my suitcase while traveling so it's easier to spot.  Well, the Waltzingmouse Stamps Opera Tags set had the perfect little image to frame the new couple's initial, "R", that I stamped using Waltzingmouse's Victorian Alphabet.  It was Rock~n~Rolled with Brick Red and Jumbo Java (VersaMagic), to give it an aged look.  Isn't that tag the cutest!!  The handle is just a piece of Suede Lace.  I used Scor-Tape to attach a 1 1/4" x 2 1/2" piece of cardstock on the inside to hold the lace in place instead of knotting it in order to avoid some bulk.

Here's a view of it laying down.
Now for the fun surprise on the inside.

I'm sure you've all seen the fun Origami folded money.  I thought it would be fun to include their gift of money in the form of clothes.  I used two Youtube tutorials to learn how: Origami Pants, Origami Shirt with Tie

I also included a sentiment on the inside combining the Waltzingmouse sets Fancy Phrases and Say it Loud.

That about sums this little project up.
Thank you so much for dropping by.
Happy Stamping!

Wedded Bliss Viva la Verve

I've been playing with some more Verve images and decided to participate in this week's Viva la Verve sketch found HERE.

I need a wedding card in a couple of weeks, and thought the images from the Verve set Small Celebrations would look fabulous with the new Indie Chic paper by My Mind's eye. I love the blue/gold combination.

Short and sweet today. Graduations and parties to go to, and my college kids just got home, so lots to do ya'll!!

Have a fantastic weekend!!
Happy Stamping!

Be sure to comment at each Blog because Michelle is offering some fantastic Mystery Blog candy. Here's the Blog Hop order for Monday.

Okay, now about the card. I used this past week's Mojo Monday sketch as a starting point, but I put my ribbon in the wrong place. *sigh*

The sentiment in the center of the medallion is from JustRite's Romantic Sentiments set, and was stamped with Versamark and embossed with Detail Gold ep. For the medallion base, I used a variety of Spellbinders dies: Lattice Pendant, and Octagon, Circle, and Blossom 1 Nestabilities. I added a bit of sparkle to the edges with my Quickie Glue Pen and some Judikins Ultrafine Transparent Glitter.

FYI: You can click on the photos for a closer look, and the highlighted words will take you to where you can find that particular product.

The striped panel was made with Impression Obsession's Thin Stripes Cover-a-Card Cling Background stamp image, inked with Key Lime Versamagic Chalk ink.

The white bg was embossed with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots Embossing folder, and the border was made with a Martha Stewart punch. The Rhinestones are Me and My Big Ideas Icons, and the Spring Moss Ribbon and paper are from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to check out Stamper's Dream's Blog Hop tomorrow starting at Michelle's Blog HERE.
