Hoppy Snowflakes ~ Power Poppy

Hello everyone.  It's been quite awhile since I've posted and I'm very sorry.  Life has a way of interrupting our plans and expectations sometimes, and I haven't been able to stamp like I'd like to. But I'm back, and excited to share my creation with you today.

I had fun combining two very different Power Poppy stamp sets:  Grandma's Snowflakes and O Hoppy Day.  There are quite a few birthdays that we celebrate in December, and I've been told (I don't drink beer, so I'm going according to what others have said), that beer is best when it's really, really cold.  So, I thought...snow is cold...why not combine these two sets for some fun, to celebrate a friend's birthday.

I started by diecutting a piece of kraft cardstock, left it in the die, and taped it to my surface.   I masked off a 2 1/4" stripe on the bottom third, and then sponged on some Whisper White (SU!) pigment ink.  I removed the masking and stamped the Grandma's Snowflakes.

Then, I stamped the O Hoppy Day image with Gray Flannel (Memento) Ink and colored it with Copics.  I used Liquid Applique for the foam, and the sentiment was stamped with Onyx Black (Versafine).  Lastly, I splattered on some white acrylic paint, and voila...you can see more detail below.

That's it for my project today.  Be sure to check out the following Bloomie blogs for some incredible inspiration!!!

I hope you are enjoying getting ready for Christmas.  I actually have all my gifts wrapped and under the tree and am ready for the festivities to begin.  The Leyendekker Christmas get-together is actually this very evening.  It's quite a big deal because we usually have 80+  there.  My in-laws are 90 and 91 years, and have 8 children who are all married.  There are 29 Grandchildren and 30 Great Grandchildren with 2 on the way.  And...most live in California.  Only 3 Grandchildren live out of state with their spouses and kids.  It can be a bit crazy.  :)

I hope you have the most Blessed Christmas!!!
  Happy Stamping!

Precious Baby ~ Power Poppy

Hello my awesome creative friends!!  I hope you have had a wonderful week and are looking forward to a nice weekend.  I know I am!

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2018/06/june-challenge-lets-go-round-round.html
Since today is the first of the month, we have a new Power and Spark Challenge hosted by our very own sweet Bloom Brigader, Stacy!  She is challenging us to go "Round and Round".  She wants us to add some round corners, edges, or a complete round (circle).  I have scallops "around" my frame...hopefully that counts? ;)

Anyway, I have a fun shaker card to share with you today using Power Poppy's new Precious Baby clear stamp set.  Isn't that lamb planter just precious?!?!?!  I thought it would be charming and fun to make it a shaker.  I created a background, to ground the image, with a bead board wall, and gray distressed counter.  I used my score board for the wall, and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide (Ranger) for the base.  I masked off my stamped image before sponging the Distress Oxide.  The image itself, was colored with Copics.

For the frame, I diecut 6 layers using Pretty Pink Posh's Scallop frames.  I glued them all together with a layer of acetate between the top and second layer.

That sums up my project for today.  Be sure to check out what the following uber talented Bloom Brigaders have to share with you:

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release

Waltzingmouse Release Day has finally arrived!! 9 new inspirational sets!! Claire is starting the hop today and will have a list of all DT participating, so if you didn't start there, you might want to make a stop.

I have two final cards to share with you today.  For my first card, I stamped the rounded rectangle rope frame (Ocean Bound), masked it off and added the ship's wheels inside by rocking-and rolling them with Jumbo Java (VersaMagic) and Black Onyx (Versafine) ink.  The background papers are all from Carta Bella's Well Traveled 6x6 paper pack.

Waltzingmouse's Funky Flowers set is super fun to play with.  I started this card by embossing the curve using Spellbinders' A2 Curved Borders One dies.  I then added some score lines with my Scor-Buddy.  After I had my frame, I diecut some copy paper with the A2 Curved Borders One die and used it as a mask.  I then added my flowers with a variety of inks, and the sentiment from the new set Big Day-Today.

Now, don't forget, Waltzingmouse Stamps offers you a chance to win a free stamp set of your choice on Release Day.  All you have to do to be entered is leave a comment on each blog along the hop.  You have until August 12 at 3:59 am Pacific time.  The winners will be posted on Claire's Blog August 14.

Well, that's it for me today.  Thank you, so much, for all your encouragement and support this past week during the previews.  Now, head on over to the uber talented Kelly's blog for some awesome inspiration!!

If you've arrived here from the sweet and talented Silke's blog, you're on the right track.  If not, you'll want to start at the beginning!  Click HERE.

I decided to use the set Save Time from the Blessing Collection.  I had fun with ink and masking for this project!  I started by ripping a piece from the center of copy paper.  I wanted it just large enough to fit the sentiment.  I then place the ripped piece down and inked Tumbled Glass Ranger distress ink around it.  I then took the negative piece and inked Vingtage Photo (Ranger Distress) inside.  I placed the torn piece down again and inked some Vintage Photo around it and along the edges of the tag.

After that, I laid a gold mesh (The Funkie Junkie) down and sponged some Vintage Cream Ink (PTI) over it.  I added some vintage cream splotches for added interest also.  Lastly, I punched a border along some copy paper using an EK Success punch, layed that along the edge of my tag and added some Black Soot (Ranger Distress Ink).

That's it as far as the inking and masking go.  I added some fun embellishments, wrinkled ribbon and fibers to finish the tag off.  I hope you've been inspired.

Now for some more fabulous inspiration, head on over to the beautiful and creative Betty's blog.

Thanks for visiting!!
Happy Stamping!!
