Fortunes of Fall Pumpkins ~ Power Poppy

Hello everyone!!!  Happy Friday!!!  I am currently hanging out in Atlanta with my fellow Bloomie Katie Sims, who is someone I am greatly thankful for.  She is a gem through and through.  Tomorrow, we are flying up to New Hampshire to meet up with another fellow Bloomie, Cindy Lawrence, to spend a few days.  Am I blessed or what.  She is another true blue person.  Actually, the entire crew of Power Poppy is some of the most delightful, kindhearted, genuine women I know, and I am beyond thankful to be a part of the PP team with all of them.

So, with that little intro, let me tell you about this month's Power and Spark challenge over on the Power Poppy blog.  I am hosting it, and calling it "It's your birthday!"  I'm challenging you to be inspired by the month you were born in.  There could be a holiday that occurs in your month, a specific season, an event that you enjoy, your birthstone color, your wedding, a birth, whatever you can think of that is inspired by your birth month.

I was born Nov. 20, so my birthday can fall pretty close to Thanksgiving.  It never lands on the day, but can get within 2 days.  I also LOVE...(maybe a bit obsessively) pumpkins.  I have felt pumpkins, velvet pumpkins, metal pumpkins, glass pumpkins, ceramic ones, itty bitty ones, LARGE ones (I actually have a turquoise/gold glass one that is 16"W x 10"H. yep...).  So, of course, this image, from the Fortunes of Fall set, appealed to me greatly!!

I embossed the image, with silver ep, onto watercolor paper, and colored the pumpkins like some of my velvet ones, using Zig Clean Color Real Brushes.  They are deep and rich in color, and are some of my favorites.  The sentiment was also embossed with silver ep.

That's it for my project.  Be sure to stop by the Power Poppy blog for all the details on how you can participate and win a $50 shopping spree!!  You'll also be able to get the links to the other Bloom Brigade members who have projects to share with you today.

Thanks for visiting!!  I hope your weekend is filled with many happy, delightful moments.  I'm hoping to see some Fall foliage on the East coast.  Fingers crossed!!!

  Happy Stamping!!

Feeling Fall ~ Power Poppy

Happy Friday my creative friends!!  I have to tell you, I am feeling so very thankful today.  I LOVE my family!  I LOVE my church!!  I get to design with the absolutely most wonderful and talented paper crafters, and for the sweetest and ultimate artist!  And, although we are suffering with really poor air quality, due to so many surrounding fires here in California, we are safe and blessed!  There are so many who need prayers in our state right now though: Those who have lost homes and property and those who are fighting to save what they can.  So, if you can, please take a moment to remember all those who are suffering from natural disasters, at this time, all over the United States and World.  Unfortunately, there are so many!

Now, onto my card for today...I needed some Thank You cards for some incredible ladies who helped me decorate our church for a large Women's event this past weekend.  Fortunately for me, Power Poppy has many stamp sets that can be used for Thank You's.

I chose two sets to work with today:  Feeling Fall and So Grateful

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2017/10/october-power-spark.html
Our sweet and talented Bloomie Stacy, has challenged us to make Mini cards this month for our Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge.  So I decided it would be fun to make mine an Easel Card.  Here's a link to an Easel Card Tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.

I colored my image, from Feeling Fall, with Copics, cut it out, and adhered it to a piece of decorative paper that I stamped the image on also so I had an already made background.  I didn't want to tackle cutting out the berries.  haha  The sentiment is from Power Poppy's So Grateful clear stamp set.

Here's a close up of my card closed.  It's a really easy interactive card to make.  You can make it any size or shape.  I hope you'll give it a try

Copics: Orange Pumpkin ~ E99, E97, E95, E93  Gourd ~ BG99, BG96, BG93, BG90 White Pumpkin ~ W5, W3, W1, E93, BG90 Mug ~ B97, B95, B91, E95 Berries ~ R37, R35, E95 Stems ~ E79, E77, E74

That's it for my project.  Be sure to check out the following Bloom Brigade Blogs for some more inspiration:

Cake and Candles ~ Verve Anniversary Hop

Welcome to Day 3 of the Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hops!  It's time for another day of spotlighting the Verve release with the Verve Divas and special guests! I am super excited to be guest designing for Verve to help celebrate it's 10 year Anniversary.  How awesome is that.  I had the privilege of being on the Verve Design Team from 2009-2012, and it was seriously an honor.

Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Cake and Candles stamp set, another fusion of old and new. This birthday themed compilation includes some brand new birthday sentiments with a classy modern font pairing, as well as a few re-introductions of previous sentiments and plain janes.

I decided to go a bit vintage with the cupcake in this set.  I stamped the cupcake with Gray Flannel Memento Ink, onto X-Press It cardstock and colored it with Copics.  I cut it out and burnished it to give it some texture and dimension, and popped it up on some Rossi Belle Prima Cardstock.

Below is a close up so you can see the dimension of the cupcake a bit better.  If you click on the photo, you can see how the frosting is puffed up, and the cupcake wrapper is pleated.

That's it for my project today.

Everything previewed this week will be available to order in the Verve online store on Monday, August 28. If you just can't wait, you can pre-order the entire release now as the August 2017 Buy it All Bundle at a 30% discount through August 27.

Well Hello Dahlia digital ~ Power Poppy

Hi everyone!!  I have a Power Poppy project to share with you today, and it's not even Friday!!  Go figure!!  Well, it is the 5th of Sept. and Power Poppy releases digital images "on the 5's", so today, I decided to join along with some of the Instant Gardeners!!  Marcy has remixed this darling Dahlia image and the new digital set is called "Well Hello Dahlia!"  Isn't that just adorable?!?!?!  It's made up of 3 images and 2 sentiments, and they are just charming and super fun to color!  I decided to make mine into a gift set and colored up two images: one for the card, and one for the gift-box tag.  You know I like me some vintage, so I based these beautiful images with Tales of You and Me Prima paper, along with two elegant dies:  Victorian Bow and Tapestry (Spellbinders).  This silk ribbon is from the Stamp Simply Ribbon store.  It drapes so beautifully.

The box was made with a fun diecut by Tonic called Diamond Favour Squeeze Box.  It has 17 dies, is adorable and has a variety of options to diecut or emboss.  I used the single vase from the Well Hello Dahlia set, along with a Birthday sentiment from the Clear set called Party Time for my tag.

I also added some sparkle to the card and gift tag using a Quickie Glue Pen along with some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (Stampin' Up!)

Here's a close up of that a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e single vase.  Isn't it sweet?

Copics: Flowers ~ R29, R22, R20, R01, W0, E53, E51, E50 Leaves ~ BG99, BG96, BG93, BG90 Vases ~ BG78, BG75, BG72, W0, BV25, BV23, BV20, W0 Background ~ E31, E30, E00, W3, W1, W0, W00

Happy Birthday Power Poppy!!

http://powerpoppy.com/
Hello Power Poppy peeps!!  Not only is it Friday, but it's the beginning of April already!!  That is just crazy!!  And, there is A LOT going on with Power Poppy today!!  First of all.....it's Power Poppy's 2nd birthday,

In Marcy's own words:  Power Poppy is turning 2. WOOHOO! We want to THANK YOU, our sweet and encouraging peeps around the world, for helping us spread the botanical abundance and zest for life. Your creativity, love, and generosity of spirit is SO STRONG! We are thrilled to kick off another year of flowering and empowering together.

From Friday through Monday, we're offering 20% OFF all Stamps, Digital and Clear. Use discount code: MARCELLA at checkout to receive the special savings. PLUS, for four days only we have a special birthday digi for only TWO BUCKS! Visit Power Poppy to learn more.

And now for my card ...Today's card was designed using a CardMaps sketch.  Power Poppy is being featured in this month's PageMaps sketches.  I was given the sketch you see on the right.
I combined two Power Poppy digital sets:  Gerbera Daisies, Spring Meadow Bouquet (Bumblebee), and a clear set for the sentiment: Simply Camelias

I printed, colored (with Copics), scored, burninshed, and even separated each petal to make the Gerbera more "fluffly".  There are 3 layers.  I also curled the leaves a bit with my stylus.

I added an extra vellum layer to the bumblebee wings to give them a lighter feel.

Copics: R59, R56, R81, N8, N6, N4, N2, Y38, Y35, Y32, .01 Multiliner

That sums up my project for today, but there's more I need to share.

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/Since it's the beginning of the month, there is a new Power and Spark challenge hosted by Christine.  And it's a super clever and creative one.  I will have project to share next Friday that fits the criteria.

You have 3 options to "Pick 3"

1.  Pick three markers from the same color family to create a monotone design
2.  Pick three markers from complementary color families  - easier to blend etc
3.  For the courageous or expert....pick three random markers and color away.

If you haven't already...be sure to check out the following Bloom Brigade and Instant Gardner blogs.  There's a ton of inspiration to be had!!!
Whew...I think I got everything!!  I hope you're excited by all the new fun stuff going on at Power Poppy as I am!!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

   Happy Stamping!

So Bloomin' Wonderful ~ Power Poppy

It's Friiiiiiiiiday!!!  Woo-Hoo!! And being that it's Friday, I have a Power Poppy card to share with you!  Today I used one of the most recent digital images called Wish You Luck.  Now this is a bouquet of clovers, but shoot, I thought they looked like hearts, so why not color them with pinks and reds with a hint of yellow and orange?  So, that's what I did.  The sentiment is from the clear set called Bloomin' Wonderful.

I also added a bit of sparkle along with a few embellishments.  Everything was colored with Copics, and distressed with some Antique Linen Distress Ink by Ranger.

Here's a list of the Bloom Brigaders who also have something to share today:
CopicsClovers:  R29, R24, R22, RV29, RV25, RV23, Y13 Bitty Blossoms: YR18, YR16, YR00, Y13 Ribbon:  E44, E42, E41, W5, W3, W1 Leaves:  YG97, YG17, YG13

Shabby Chic Ranunculus ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-little-shabby-little-chic.html
Hello creative friends!  It's Friday already, and that means it's time for some Power Poppy inspiration.  Cindy challenged everyone, last week, to make something "Shabby Chic".  So of course I knew I'd have to play along.  Although I love working with different styles, I tend to gravitate that direction quite a bit.  I also hadn't had a chance to work the the newest digi release called Ranunculus.  Aren't they exquisite?  I used some rose, coral and yellow hues to give them a vintage feel.  I didn't realize that this similar color palette was used by the super sweet and talented Kathy Jones too.  *sigh*  Subconsciously I guess I was channeling Kathy.  Not a bad artist to channel though...that's for sure.  :)

I colored the image with Copics, distressed all the edges and added a bit of sewing to give it a good vintage feel.

That's it for my project today.  Be sure to check out what the following Bloom Brigaders have to share:

Copics:   Flowers: Rose color ~ R85, R83, R81 Coral color ~ R32, R30 Yellow color ~ Y28, Y23, Y02 Flower center ~ T7, T5, T3, T0, YG07 Leaves: YG95, G85, YG03 Background: W6, W4, W2, W0  I went over the flowers and leaves randomly with E31 to add a warm vintage feel to them.

Thanks for dropping by!  I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!

Happy Stamping!
