Season's Giving Blog Hop

Welcome!!  I'm so honored to be a part of this year's Season's Giving Blog Hop!  2015 was filled with many challenges as well as many blessings.   I would like to start this next year by focusing on my blessings.

First of all, I get to paper craft and design for two wonderful companies.  That's huge to me.  And, I'm so grateful to those who follow my blog.  Your comments and encouragement are always uplifting.  I am constantly inspired by so many paper crafters, mixed media artists, and designers, and I hope I've brought a bit of inspiration to you this past year.

So, to say thank you, I'd like to offer a Giveaway (will ship anywhere):  A set of Chameleon Color Tones Pens and Tonal Ranges, Decorative Curved Square dies by Spellbinders, Flower Layer die by Cuttlebug, and French collection - Corner, Border and Tag die by Creative Expressions

All you have to do is leave a comment mentioning one blessing or something you were thankful for in 2015.  I have many, but spending time with my kids is right at the top.  Especially the fact that they were able to be home for Christmas.  They live out of state, so to be able to juggle their schedules and make it all work was a treasure!

The winner will be randomly drawn and announced on Thursday, January 7.

Now, I'd like to share my favorite cards of 2015 if you don't mind bearing with me.  The links to the other hoppers will follow.

Dimensional Snowglobe Greetings ~ Power Poppy

Hello everyone!!  It's Friday!!  Woo-Hoo!!  That means the weekend is finally here and all the fun that comes with it.  Are you ready for Christmas?  I'm getting there, and am excited for the kids to come home., in the midst of decorating and present wrapping, I thought I'd make a card for this month's Power Poppy Power and Spark challenge, which is to choose a previous challenge to work with.
I chose November's Embellish This challenge. I've been itching to color the new Snowglobe Greetings digital image because I knew right when I saw it that I wanted to make it dimensional.  I started by coloring 3 images for the inside and layering them using Paper Tole.

For the base, I cut out an extra piece, colored it, put 3 large pop dots behind in the center, glued two cardstock tabs to the side, cut two slits on the outside of the bottom base, slid the tabs through and looks curved.

I embossed the top panel, glued it to a black frame, attached that to an acetate base and popped it up a bit to fit the dimensional image inside.  So this baby is full of depth, dimension, and textures.  For the snow and Santas hat and cuffs,  I used white Liquid Applique.  I used a brush to spread it on, sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (SU!), and then heated it with my Heat Tool.  I also added glitter to the background and Santa's beard.

That about sums up today's project.  For some more Holiday inspiration, check out the following Bloom Brigaders:

Let's Chill ~ Power Poppy and a SALE!!

Hello!!  I hope my American friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I actually spent a few hours yesterday morning up at Wonder Valley Ranch and Resort in the Sierra foothills.  I was blessed with the opportunity to teach a group of Senior citizen's how to make Gift Bag Toppers and decorate their bags for Christmas.  We had a delightful time, and I got to meet some super fun and interesting people.  One couple had just been married for 3 years.  He was 83, and she was 90 and legally blind.  She told me I had to let people know that even a blind woman can make a gift bag.  What a hoot!  I ended the day spending time with my husband's family very grateful for all I've been blessed with. And now, I have a project, to share, that I made using the new Power Poppy digi image called Let's Chill!  And.....this set is only $1 from now through Monday!  No joke... $1!!  And....all clear and digital stamps are 20% off!  Seriously my friends!!  Power Poppy is having an awesome sale!
Isn't this snowman just A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!!!!    I colored him with Copics, cut him out, burnished the back of him to give him some dimension, and popped him up on the main image I printed.

See the background?  That snowflake background image is also included with this digi set.  I just printed it in a light blue, and increased the transparency in Word to make it lighter.  You can see it better in the close-up below.

Here's a close-up profile so you can see the dimension.  LOVE this dapper guy!  I also added some Flower Soft to the snowy areas.

That about sums up my project for this weekend.  Be sure and check out what the following Bloom Brigaders have to share.  I know their little snowmen are as cute as can be!!  Some of the Instant Gardeners have some sweet projects to share also, so for their links, stop by the Power Poppy Blog.

A Power Poppy Partridge in a Pear Tree

Hello folks!!  Power Poppy released a new digital image on the 15th called Partridge in a Pear Tree.  Isn't it just super charming?  I decided I wanted my decorations a "bit" sparkly, so I glittered up the pears with Latte Opaque Micro Fine Glitter by Glitter Ritz, the ornaments with some red glitter, and the Partridge, along with the leaves, has a touch of Prisma Glitter by Hero Arts.  The rest is colored with Copics.

We'd love to have you join us for our Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge too.  You still have time, and all you have to do is embellish to your hearts content.  I added glitter, a few Dew Drops, and a Gold Leafed border.

Minc'ing with Waltzingmouse's Rustic Christmas

Hello creative friends!!  I've been Minc'ing again, and this time with some solid images by Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I tell you, the foiling the Minc machine does is seamless and so striking irl.  Sometimes with embossing, the detailed lettering can get all muddied, but with the Minc Machine, by Heidi Swapp, every detail is clean and crisp every time!!

For today's card, I stamped the Peace on Earth dove (Rustic Christmas-Waltzingmouse) with Onyx Black Versafine and heated it, because pigment ink takes awhile to dry.  I'm not that patient.  I then took the Postage Stamps die (La-La Land Crafts) laid it over the stamped image to frame it and photocopied them together. (Whatever you want foiled has to either be printed with a laser printer, or photocopied because this foil will adhere only to toner.)

After that, I just ran it through the Minc machine and voila...a gorgeous gold foiled image!!  I then diecut the image with the Postage Stamp die I photocopied.  I also photocopied the largest Stitched Rectangle die by Waltzingmouse, photocopied it, Minc'd it, then diecut it.  Quick, easy, and beautiful!

Here's today's view of our horse barn.  (Our house is behind the trees)  Thanks to some rain and snow on Monday, we have clear skies and a beautiful snow-capped mountain view.  Feeling Blessed!!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you're enjoying an awesome week!

Maize for Days ~ Power Poppy
Heeeellllllloooo friends!!!  I am so excited to share today's Power Poppy card with you.  Fall is my absolute favorite season, and Marcy has designed an absolutely fantastic new digi set that I just adore!!  It's called Maize For Days and the main image is a bunch of Indian Corn.  I LOVE Indian Corn.  I even have some displayed in my kitchen right now along with one of my favorite things to collect...pumpkins.
And isn't this corn grouping just fabulous?  Seriously!!  And Marcy got "puny" this time too with 3 charming sentiments to go along with it.

I used so many different Copics on this image, I won't even begin to list them, but it was super fun to color, and it really didn't take much time at all. it's the beginning of a new month, we have a new Power and Spark challenge hosted by the sweet Bloomie Kathy.  We are to "embellish" to our heart's content.  I used sequins, some gold fiber, and a gold enamel dot.  I also used a border punch as well as a couple of dies.

That's it for my project today.  Be sure to stop by the following Bloom Brigade Blogs if you haven't already.  These gals have got some serious skilz!!!

Thank you so much for dropping by!!  I hope you have a beautiful weekend!!
