That's it for today.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Star Gazing

It's hard to believe the week is half over. Time flies, but that's okay, as long as I can get everything done each day that I need to. For today, I have a wintery card to share with you. I LOVE polar bears. I think they're just super precious. So I was excited to use this image by Stampavie called Star Gazing. It was such an easy image to work with because of all the snow....that means very little coloring. So I colored the holly and trees, and coated the entire image with an ultra fine glitter. It's next to impossible for me to photograph, but irl, it's super sparkly and fun. If you click on the photos, it's a bit easier to see.

The sentiment is from the JustRite set Christmas Nested Sentiments Centers and Verse, and the dp is Annalee by Prima.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to stop in each day for the rest of this week. I have some fun cards to share. Tomorrow I have a CCEE Stamper's sketch to show you.

Hope you have a super day!!
Happy Stamping!

"Heart to Heart" Alzheimer's Card Drive

Two years ago, my dear friend Cammie (Carolyn King) held a "Heart to Heart" card drive, on her blog, in honor of her Grandmother who passed away after suffering with Alzheimer's disease. This year she's holding another drive today and she's having a blog candy drawing that's HUGE!! All you have to do is make a card for a caretaker of an Alzheimer's patient and agree to mail it to them. If you don't have somewhere to send your card, she's provided the address where her Grandmother was so wonderfully cared for. Be sure to link the blog candy post on your blog to spread the word too. Alzheimer's Disease is long suffering, and Cam thought this would be a good way to thank those who give of their time to take care of those suffering from this debilitating disease.

You can see Cam's post HERE.

Here's the card I made:

I made the background with the Verve set Good Friend. First, I stamped the flowers onto kraft cs with Red Brick VersaMagic, and then the leaves with Tea Leaves VersaMagic. Don't ya just love those flowers? The sentiment, from the Verve set Fabulous You, was stamped with Onyx Black Versafine onto Ivory cs, and all the edges were ink distressed with Vintage Photo Ranger Distress Ink. The sketch is Mojo Monday Sketch #157. Lastly, I added some buttons, a couple of punched borders and a bit of sewing.

Amongst all the fabulous donated blog candy, Cam is giving away a basket full of handmade cards made by various stampers. This is the card I made for the give away:

The silhouette is from a Flourishes set called Kids Play, the dp is all Lost by My Mind's Eye, and the flower was made with PunchBunch punches and Stickles.

That's it from me today. Head on over to Cam's Blog to see how you can participate, and what goodies she has.

Happy Stamping my friends!

JustRite Sketch Challenge #037

Stamper's Dream

This week, Stamper's Dream is sponsoring the Friday challenge on the JustRite Inspiration Blog . The challenge is a sketch, and the prize is a $50 shopping spree at Stamper's Dream . Trust me when I tell you that you won't have any trouble spending it there when you see all the latest and greatest products we have in stock, including the complete JustRite Christmas stamp collection!

Just use the sketch challenge #037 to make your card, then post it on the JustRite Inspiration Blog using Mr. Linky. You have until Thursday, September 30 at 9 am.

Here's the card I made with this week's sketch challenge.

Remember, all the colored words are links that will take you directly to that product.

I stamped a JustRite Christmas sentiment from the set Nature's Nested Sentiments with Black Onyx Versafine directly onto some Annalee (Prima) dp that I used throughout the card.. It has a wonderful variety of sentiments for all occasions. I then diecut the sentiment with a Mega Ovals Lg Nestabilities die, and framed it with Labels 14. All the edges were then ink distressed with Antique Linen Ranger Distress Ink, and I added some sparkly snowflake stickers by ki Memories. I also added some glitter domes. They remind me of itty bitty snowballs. Lastly, I added a Martha Stewart border punch and some fun sewing along the borders. Notice my stitched snowflakes towards the bottom half? Here's a closer look. I was having a little fun with my sewing machine. *grin*

That's it for my card for today.

CCEE Get Well Card

Hi friends!! Once again Thursday has snuck up on me. But that's a good thing, because it means the weekend is right around the corner!! Woot!! So, I have a CCEE Stamper's Challenge to share with you today. Frances has us making a "Get Well" card. I rarely use that particular sentiment. I always head for the "Thinking of You" ones for an ill friend. So, this time I used a sentiment from the Verve set Circular sayings.

The tile frame was made by first die-cutting the frame with Square Nestabilities (Spellbinders), I then cut each individual square (marking the backs with a number first so I knew how to reassemble), ink distressed it, then lined them up around the center square. I added some Glossy accents over the frame too, but it's hard to see in the photo.

Before leaving, head on over to the CCEE Stamper's Blog to see what the other gals have come up with. We'd love to see your "Get Well" cards too. So be sure to add your creation with Mr. Linky.

Thanks for stopping by!!
Happy stamping!!

Spooky!!

Isn't this table full of Spooky goodness? Yummy cupcakes? A Cauldron of potions? Candy apples? Along with a bunch of other Halloween Surprises. Well, I colored this Impression Obsession Party Table with Copics, and added a bit of sparkle for some fun. The "Spooky" sentiment (don't the o's look like eyes? too fun!!) was made with the Lowercase Curlz font by JustRite. The dp is from Memory Boxes Blackbird line, the spider is a flocked spider that I cut out from some MME dp, the web and the bats were punched with Martha Stewart corner punches, and the border along the top was made with the Tim Holtz Ornate on the Edge Sizzix die. And lastly, I added some stitching with some black embroidery thread.

That's it for today stampers!! Hope your week is off to a fabulous start!!
Happy stamping!

Embossed White Snowflake

I realize this picture is dark, and a bit yellow in tint, but I wanted you to be able to see the detail in the embossing.

So, this is the final card I made for "White Week", and it was the simplest of them all. I just took the largest snowflake from the new Spellbinders 2010 Snowflake Pendant set, that I got from Stamper's Dream, and embossed it on white cs. Then I just added a "Thanks" sentiment from the Verve set Celebration of Thanks, layered the white on white (cause I LOVE that look), and added a border to the bottom with an EK Success Punch. I know, I do that a lot too, *grin* but I LOVE the elegance the punched border gives to a card.

That's it. Easy as pie, and it makes for a quick thank you card during the holiday season.

I hope you've enjoyed my White Week. I'll have a Halloween card, a vintage get well card, and a couple of others to share with you this week, so please, stop by again.

Happy stamping my friends!!

An embossed CAS with sparkle!!

It's Saturday, and I'm still sharing my white creations. I've been having such a ball with these. For this CAS card, all I did was run my white cs through my Cuttlebug with the Season's Greetings Embossing folder, rounded the edges, and added snowflakes I made with Spellbinders' Snowflake Borderabilities. I just coated them with my Quickie Glue Pen, added some Glitter and some Rhinestones, and added some dimension with Scotch Dimensional tape. That was it. Sorry for the darker photo, but I wanted you to be able to see the embossing better. If you click on the photo, it shows up a bit more too.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Be sure to check back tomorrow. I have another embossed white card to share.
Happy Stamping my friends!

Fishing Silhouette

Hello fellow stampers!! I'm back on schedule with my "White Week", with a silhouette. I'm in serious LOVE with the Flourishes set Kids Play that I got from Stamper's Dream. I actually collect silhouettes, and these playful images really struck a cord with me. All I did for this card was emboss the rectangle frame and sponge some Antique Linen Ranger Distress Ink on the inside. I then stamped the sentiment and fishing silhouette with Black Onyx Versafine and layered the white panels. The bottom layer is scored with an EK Success punched border. That's it. CAS all the way.

You really should check out the Sales and Specials section at Stamper's Dream too. Michelle has a lot of markdowns, including Nestabilities.

Well, I hope ya'll have a fantastic weekend. I still have at least one more look that I'll post tomorrow, maybe one more on Sunday too. I have one more idea floating around in this crazy head of mine.

Thanks for dropping by!!
Happy Stamping!

A Pirate's Treasure

We interrupt this regularly scheduled "White Week" program for a CCEE Stamper's challenge. Please return the next two days to see the rest of my white creations.

I'm excited to share this sweet little treasure box with you today. Since it's Thursday, once again it's time for another CCEE Stamper's Challenge, and Frances has challenged us to make something with a pirate theme since it's "International Talk like a pirate" day. Well, I don't have anything along that theme, so I thought why not make a treasure chest?

While searching for a treasure chest template, I stumbled upon This Tutorial by Lori McCroskey, owner of Clear Dollar Stamps. Isn't it just precious!?!?! I used all dp, so there's very little stamping on mine. Just the tag. One thing I absolutely adore about Verve is that it has such a variety of sentiments that come in handy often. Such was the case for this little box. I knew once I wanted to add a tag, Verve was what I'd turn too. Sure enough. I found the perfect little sentiment written in the perfect font, from the set Enjoy. I also added some twine handles along the side with some Rain dot eyelet stickers by Cloud 9 Designs. Here's a look at the inside.

I didn't have any candy jewels to use for treasure, but I thought these Lindt Lindor Truffles looked quite rich and yummy!!

That's it for my project today. Be sure to check out the CCEE Stamper's Blog to see what pirate themed creations the other gals have come up with.

Stamps: Enjoy (Verve)
Paper: PTI Ivory, Lost and Found (MME)
Ink: Black Onyx Versafine, Vintage Photo Ranger Distress
Accessories: Lori McCroskey's Treasure Chest Template, Buttons (PTI), Scor-Pal, Twine, Rain Dots Eyelets (Cloud 9 Design), Wizard Tag Trio (Spellbinders), Border Punch (EK Success)

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #2! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving JustRite will be hosting a Christmas Blog Hop with a variety of designers, showcasing the entire Christmas Collection of JustRite stamps! This week, the Stamper’s Dream design team is joining the Just Rite DT! If you've just come from Kazan Clark's blog, you're on the right track. If you started here, be sure to head on over to the JustRite Inspiration Blog for the start of the hop.

For my card today, I chose to use the Groovy Snowman set. I LOVE snowmen, and have quite the collection. So, naturally, I'm drawn to these cozy charmers. Sticking with my "white" theme this week, the only color added was kraft, and this lovely lady's outfit. She's colored with Copics. I added some White Fun Flock to her cuffs and hat, and some sparkly glitter to her scarf, flower, and buttons. I also added some Viva Decor Gloss Gel to the snowflake border with some glitter. I think they look like glittery snowballs.

Stamps: Groovy Snowmen
Paper: Kraft and White
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Cloud White (Versamagic)
Accessories: Circle and Circle Scallops Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Copics, Flock, Glitter, Snowflake embossing folder (Cuttlebug), Punched border (Martha Stewart), Ribbon, Viva Decor Gloss Gel

Still seeing white...

It's my daughter's birthday today!! Woo-Hoo!! Since my son was kind enough to challenge me to make a masculine card with balloons last month (here's his card), my daughter thought she should be able to make some demands also. Well, hers were even harder, so we compromised. She loves bright colors. Me, not so much. Scratch that...I LOVE seeing others create with bright colors, by I'm color challenged. Earth tones, monochromatics, etc....Brights? How does one pair brights together? That's a concept that perpetually eludes me. So, I promised to have a bright color on my card. Now, to me, that cupcake SCREAMS bright. I would have loved to do it in soft muted tones, but for her....BRIGHT turquoise and lime green. No soft sky or mint...nope, not for my daughter. Boy, the things we mothers do for our children. I hope they appreciate the sacrifices we make for them while they're growing up. I'm counting on them reciprocating in later years....for sure!!

Anyway, like I promised yesterday, this week is all about white. So, the only color on today's card is the cupcake itself; which is from one of Verve's newest released sets called Carpe Cupcake. It's colored with copics, then covered with sparkly glitter. The bg panel is embossed with the stars and swiss dots Cuttlebug folders, and the framing was made with the new Lacey Circles Nestabilites die by Spellbinders.

Now, look closely at the dots around the frame. I LOVE these babies!! They were made with a new product I got from Eclectic Paperie called Viva Decor Gloss Gel. This is the Opaque White, and it makes perfectly round dots, or pearls if you will. No mountain peaks, that I cannot avoid with the Liquid Pearls. I'm in love with this product!!

White on white is so hard to photograph, so I made the photo a bit darker so you can see the dots a bit better. If you click on the photos, they're even easier to see. (along with flaws of course, so only look at the dots please.....LOL)

That's it for today stampers. Tomorrow is a JustRite Blog Hop that you won't want to miss. JustRite is celebrating Twelve weeks of Christmas by having a blog hop each Wed. until Thanksgiving. Stamper's Dream is participating this week.

So, see ya tomorrow. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Happy Stamping my friends!!

It's a White Week!!

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas!! Well, I must be, because this weekend I was in a HUGE white space mood. And that is so out of character for me. I tell ya though, I have even more respect for Silke and all the white cards she makes, because inevitably, I'd just about have a card finished, and the ink fairy would leave splotches of un-coordinating ink colors in random places!! Talk about frustrating!!

With that all being said though, I really did have fun making this week's cards, and am happy with the finished product... (inspite of the do-overs due to the ink fairy) Here's the first card of many this week.

I started off By stamping this charming Evergreen, from the Impression Obsession Clear Stamp set Gift of Love, with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and coloring it with Copics. The edges were ink distressed with Antique Linen Ranger distress Ink.

I added some red glitter to the cardinal with my Quickie Glue Pen, and some magical snow with my Liquid Applique Pen. There's a touch of glitter on the snow too.

Finally, I added some buttons, lace and a sweet sentiment from the set Winter View (IO)

That's it for today's card. Be sure to check back each day this week for my "White Christmas" cards. Well, they're not all Christmas cards, but they all have a LOT of white on them.

Have a super week!!
Happy Stamping!

A Vintage Merry Christmas to you!

The weekend is here!! Yee-ha!! I hope you all had a wonderful week, and get a chance to relax and enjoy your weekend.

The card I have for you today is made with all Waltzingmouse images and Lost dp by My Mind's Eye. I love Claire's vintage sets and since I have a few of them I decided I'd use their Sketch Challenge this week. The deadline to enter their challenge was yesterday, but I liked the sketch so much I wanted to use it and hadn't had a chance to make this card until today. You can find the sketch HERE.

Nothing too elaborate here, so I won't go into in depth details. It's hard to see, but the black ribbon is pleated, and all the paper edges were ink distressed with Black Soot Ranger Distress Ink. The cs is all either PTI or Prism, and I added some Glitter Domes and some Kaisercraft Rhinestones. The border punch is a Martha Stewart one, and all the layers are raised with Scotch dimensional tape.

Have a fantastic weekend my friends!!
Happy Stamping!

It's Teddy Bear Day!

It's time for another CCEE challenge ya'll!! And this week Frances has challenged us to use Teddy Bears since it's Teddy Bear day. I'm a huge fan of the Penny Black Teddy Bears, so I hauled this cutie out and colored him and his little butterfly friends with copics. I used the Mojo Monday sketch #155, and a sentiment from the Verve set Celebrating You. Too frame the sweet image and sentiment, I used the Labels 15 Nestabilities die and the Smallest tag from the Wizards Trio (Spellbinders). The bottom corner was made with a Martha Stewart border punch, and the ribbon and button are from PTI.

Now, before you go, head on over to the CCEE Stampers blog to see what the other gals came up with for this challenge. We'd love to see your favorite Teddy Bear images too.

Thanks for stopping by today!

It's all about the apples...

Hello fellow stampers!! Can you believe we're almost half way through the week? I'm excited because our weather is supposed to cool down some 20 degrees, and the colder the better imho!! LOL

As for my card today...well, it's a little bit brighter than I normally do. Okay....a LOT brighter, but I liked the warmth of the Sunflower yellow Prism paper. I stamped the Apples (Impression Obsession) image, I got from Stamper's Dream, with Black Onyx Versafine and colored it with my watercolor pencils. The textured bg was made with a brick patterned embossing folder by Sizzix.

I added 4 little Paper Fasteners (7 Gypsies) to the side, and a ribbon with a Martha Stewart punched leaf and sweet little button to finish it off.

That's about it. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for the CCEE Stampers challenge!
Happy Stamping!

God is our refuge and strenth!

I have a friend who's going through some rough times right now, and thought I'd make her a card to lift her up a bit. I knew the exact sentiment I wanted to use too. I tell ya, Verve Plain Janes come in handy often. They always seem to be "just what I needed".

This card has very little stamping. I just inked up the Psalm 46:1 image with Black Onyx Versafine, and stamped it directly on the dp. Now, I have to tell you, I'm in love with "Lost". Not the TV show, but the dp by My Mind's Eye! Glittery fun with yummy colors and patterns.

For this card, I let the paper and the sentiment do most of the work. I just cut out the oval that was already designed into the paper, and cut out the shape with the largest Labels 10 die by Spellbinders. I ink distressed all the edges with Antique Linen Ranger Distress Ink, added a Martha Stewart punched border, some flowers ribbon and dew drops, and that's about it. Oh, and I added an EK Success border to the edge of the card also.

I hope those of you in the states are enjoying the Labor Day holiday.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Happy stamping my friends!!

Just Plain FUN!!

I am so excited to share this card with you today. You see, I made this card just for pure fun; not for any DT commitments. I've always loved the Waltzingmouse Vinage Labels Frames and even own a few. But, because it takes me an inordinate amount of time to make a card, I rarely have the energy or creative juices left to make more than a few cards a week. Therefore, I stick mainly to my DT obligations.

I also LOVE Verve's Plain Janes and think they fit fabulously in the Vintage Labels Frames. So, being inspired with the Vintage Labels 5 images from Waltzingmouse, and one of my newest toys, the Spellbinders Diamonds Nestabilites dies, I set off to work.

As soon as I saw Spellbinders' new Diamond dies, I knew I wanted to make this bg for a card. I just took three different patterns of the new dreamy Lost dp by My Mind's Eye and diecut about 10 diamonds each with the smallest diamond. I then ink distressed each with Worn Lipstick Ranger Distress Ink and started gluing them with miniscule space between each one.

After I created my background, I stamped the Vintage Labels 5 image onto another pattern of the Lost dp with Brushed Corduroy Ranger Distress Ink and added one of my favorite Verve Plain Jane Sentiments, 1 Peter 5:7 "Cast all your Cares On Him for He cares for you." I stamped the sentiment with Walnut Stain Ranger Distress Ink.

Finally, I added a Martha Stewart Quilted Edge punched border, a lacy ruffle, some Zva Creative Pearls, some I~Rock crystals, Seam Binding Ribbon, and a Webster's Pages Vintage Sparkler.

The Waltzingmouse image is framed with the Labels 5 and the Curved Rectangle dies and is ink distressed with Antique Linen Ranger Distress Ink.

That's it for today folks. If you click on any of the colored words, it will take you to where you can find the products I used.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a super weekend!!
Happy Stamping!!

CCEE Bookmark Challenge

Wow!! It's hard to believe September is here already. My son just left for his Junior year of college today, over 1000 miles away. Each year it actually gets harder. At the same time though, he's halfway now. Woot!! Now I just have to get used to my youngest leaving for college next year. *sniff* Sheesh...why do they have to leave the nest? Seriously!!

Okay, enough with the blathering!! Since it's Thursday, it's time for another CCEE Stampers challenge. This month, Frances is in charge of the challenges, and she's celebrating some unique Holidays. Today, it's all about reading, so she challenged us to make bookmarks. Well, I was excited about this challenge because I've been admiring Denise's bookmarks a great deal and have been wanting to try a corner bookmark. The tutorial by Beate can be found at Splitcoaststampers HERE.

To start, I Stamped the Maya Road Bird and Cage images, with Black Onyx Versafine, directly onto Cosmo Crickets Togetherness dp. Aren't those images just the sweetest?

I used a Circle Nestabilities die to frame them, and added one of the newer Spellbinders dies called Lacy Circles.

The sentiment was handmade with Trompe Lowercase and Times Roman JustRite Fonts. Finally, I added some Rhinestones, Silk Ribbon, a button, some lace, and a punched border along the bottom.

That about sums up all the details of this bookmark. You might want to go check out what the other gals have come up with at the CCEE Stampers blog too. Most of us were on the same wavelength....LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are having a fabulous week!!
Happy stamping my friends!

Verve Project Parade September 2010

Hello Friends. There's a Project Parade going on over at the Verve Blog that you won't want to miss. One of my favorite things about Verve images is that they're so versatile. So when I found out the theme this release was going to be "Something Old, Something New", I was thrilled. Wedding ideas immediately come to mind, but you don't have to take that direction. This is a challenge, for anyone who would like to play along, to use a previously released Verve stamp set with one of the new sets that was just released this August 20th. (If you don't have the newest Verve sets - no worries, just mix an older set from your stash with a "new to you" stamp set and join the fun!)

I decided to make a Christmas gift set and mix 3 different sets: Fabulous You (August 2010 Release), Christmas in the Air (October 2009 Release), and Bountiful Backgrounds (August 2009 Release)

I used this week's Mojo Monday Sketch and stamped the Fabulous You Frame onto Silver cs with Versamark and embossed it with Detail Black ep. All the snowflakes from Christmas in the Air were embossed also and have a microfine glitter added to them. Because the glitter is so fine, it's hard to capture with the camera. Believe me, I tried every angle possible. It just wasn't happening. *sigh* Anyway, the background was created wth the striped/dot image combo from the Bountiful Backgrounds set. Because Julee's images are clear, it's quite easy to line the stripes up for a perfectly striped bg.

I added some Frosted Sheer Shimmer Spritz (Tsukineko) to the blue card stock to keep the sparkly theme going throughout.

Now for the box. I used all three sets on here as well, along with adding Glittery Spellbinders Snowflakes dies to the top. For the sentiment, I just inked up the words "I believe" from the sentiment "I believe in you".

Here's a view from the top:

That sums up my project for today. I hope I've helped inspire you to mix it up a bit. I know I've been inspired by the previous projects by the Divas. I'm always amazed to see where their creativity takes them. I'd love to see where it takes you too. Haul out those older images, and show us your combination.

There's also a chance to win some Verve stamps - check out how you can score some:

1. Play along with us and link up your new SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW creation (posted August 25th or later) to the linky widget on the DAY 1 PARADE POST before midnight on Wednesday, September 15th. One lucky stamper will win a $30.00 gift certificate to the Verve Store.

2. For another chance to win, be sure to give the Divas a little shout-out in the comments section as we parade our SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW creations. One lucky commenter during the course of the parade will win the Verve stamp set of their choosing!
We hope you'll play along! We LOVE to see your creations!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
Happy Stamping!
