Cup of Columbine ~ Power Poppy

https://powerpoppy.com/products/cup-of-columbine
Hello all you creative souls!!  I am so excited to share my project with you today.  Marcella just released a new Power Poppy digital image yesterday called Cup of Columbine, and it is charming!!!  There are a couple of image options, and it comes with no-line versions!  I decided to try my hand with the no-line image without the bird and egg.  This is only the second time I've ever attempted no-line coloring, so please, don't look too close.

I thought it would be fun to add a pattern to the napkin, so I used my Copics to color in a stencil.  As I'm looking at it, I'm realizing I should have added some depth and dimension to the pattern itself, but alas, I don't have the time. Something to think about the next time I try my hand at patterns.

I added a sweet little sentiment from the Power Poppy Poppies set.  My Son and Daughter-in-law are going to have their first child this summer, so that means, in my eyes, my DIL is already a mother.  So I wanted to make a special first Mother's Day card for her.

That's it for my project today.  Be sure and stop by the Power Poppy Blog for the links to all the gals who debuted this set yesterday.  And check out what the following Bloomies have to share today:

In Praise of Sunflowers ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products /in-praise-of-sunflowers/
Hello again friends!!  I'm back again with another Power Poppy card to share today featuring the clear stamp set In Praise of Sunflowers.  Isn't that a great name for a set?  I ADORE sunflowers.  They are one of my absolute favorite flowers, and this set has two fabulous sunflower images that were originally released as digital.  Now, you can get both images along with some unique building sentiments.

I stamped the sunflower four times, colored them, and cut them out in layers for a 3-D effect.  I also burnished the backs of the center and leaves for some additional texture.  I colored this baby awhile back, and forgot to record the Copics I used, so I'm sorry that I can't provide the list.  But here's a close up angled view so you can see the dimension a bit better.

Now, for some more fabulous inspiration, check out the following Bloom Brigader Blogs:
That's it for today.  Stop by tomorrow for a preview of another fabulous Power Poppy set!

Power Poppy's Birthday Layer Cake

Hello Friends!!  I'm excited to share another Power Poppy card with you today!  Have you seen the newest digi called Layer Cake?  It's absolutely darling!!!   I love all the layers with the sweet banner that you can customize with whatever you want it to say because it's digital.  I added one of the sentiments to the bottom using Photoshop too.  I'm really starting to get the hang of this digital stuff.  *grin*

I colored the cake with Copics, and wanted to add some sparkle and dimension to the candy dots, so I used an Ice White Pearl Pen (Viva Decor) and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU!) over it before it dried.  I also added some Glossy Accents to the glass plate and ink distressed the border with some Antique Linen Distress Ink.  To vintage it up, I distressed all the edges and added some elegant stick Pens along with some pearls and felt hearts.

That about sums up my card for today.  For some more Power Poppy inspiration, check out the following Bloom Brigade Blogs:

Blessings!

Hello my friends!  It's Friday, and I usually have a Power Poppy card to share with you, but I wanted to share something different today.  I'm not normally a "put-it-all-out-there" kind of person.  I don't know why.  I just tend to be more private.  Plus my blog is titled "STAMP TALK with Tosh".  So I have pretty much kept my posts all about my projects.  Well, today's project has a story behind it, and I just felt inspired to share.  I hope you don't mind.

I am an introvert/extrovert and don't do well with change, so when my husband and I changed churches a couple of years ago, stepping out and getting involved was quite the challenge.  I was very involved in the church we'd been members for since we got married;  I'd even say to the point of being too involved.  But after we left that church due to situations that we felt we couldn't support, it was hard to step out again.

But, God being God...he pushed me out of my comfortable little box and I felt nudged encouraged to join a women's Bible Study that met Wed. mornings at our church.  And what a blessing that has been.  Many women from that Bible Study are blessed with gifts of encouragement, and for the past two years they have been sharing that with me, allowing me to gradually get involved and blessing me greatly in the process.  I thought it was time to let them know what a blessing they have been to me, so I decided to invite them to my home for coffee/tea.

Now, being a paper crafter, of course I had to make some invitations.  Which brings me to another issue.  A sad one.  I have been on the Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team since April of 2011, and it's been an absolute delight.  Claire (the owner and designer) is a gem!  She has a heart of gold and a style of design like no one else.  Unfortunately, she is closing Waltzingmouse Stamps.  My heart is beyond sad.  I adore her vintage style and her eye for detail!  She and her designs will be greatly missed in this stamping community!!

She has designed the most beautiful coffee/tea sets, and I wanted to use one of them for my coffee/tea invitations.  So I combined a couple of them:  Afternoon Tea (out of stock) and Coffee Set Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the invitations which included images from the Coffee Set (Which still happens to be in stock).

Here are a few of the invitations.  They all have the same layout, just different decorative papers.

Here's a close up of one of the invites so you can see the details.

You might be wondering where my title from this post came from.  Well, the whole point of the invitations, was to thank these wonderful Godly women for blessing me so abundantly.  And also, I wanted to thank Claire for allowing me to be on her Design Team for almost 5 years.  That too has been such a blessing!!

I also wanted to give a shout out to the companies I used for my little get-together.  I can't arrange flowers, and baking...well, this was too important to me to risk messing it up.  So I hired a local baking artist (she really is quite the artist) who bakes the most delicious and beautiful cookies around, to make cookies in the shapes of birds, bird cages, and nests!!  And they are beautiful and delicious! She only advertises via Instagram, and believe me, this girl is in high demand.  You can find her on instagram here: thebakersboxcafe

For my flowers, I called my favorite local florist:  Shelley DeJonge~ owner of Sweet Memories in Visalia, CA.

I told her I would like a vintage style arrangement, and this is what she came up with!!  It couldn't have been any more perfect!  You can find her on Facebook here too:  Sweet Memories

These were not the only flowers I received either.  One of the dear ladies made a beautiful and charming arrangement of flowers she picked from her garden.  And Gerberas happen to be one of my all-time favorites!

And another brought me this summery fresh smelling candle!
How totally sweet!!

And, not only was I blessed with the delightful company of my dear Bible Study friends, I was even blessed with a first time phone call from a dear stamping friend that I've never had the pleasure of meeting irl, but have shared emails for the past couple of years, as well as being a fellow Design Team member for Power Poppy:  Katie Sims...and let me tell you...she is one of my stamping idols, and has one of the sweetest "Georgia Peach" accents you have ever heard!!  What a delight!!!

And to end the day, I got to talk with my dear daughter who lives 2000 miles away.  So, as you can see, I had a full day of Blessings!!  GOD IS GOOD!!  To Him be the glory!!

If you've made it this far into my post, thanks for sticking with me and allowing me to share a treasured day with you!  I had a glorious time planning my little Coffee/Tea party, and getting to know the ladies from my group even better.  And I'm going to miss designing for Waltzingmouse Stamps, but I wish Claire and her family all the best for their future!!

I also wish you a wonderful weekend filled with blessings of your own!!

Happy Stamping my dear, dear friends!!

My English Rose ~ Power Poppy February Release Day

The day has finally arrived!!  Power Poppy's newest release called Grow Everyday!  What an awesome title!  Growing every day is something we can all aspire to do.

For today's release hop, I decided to use the single rose from the My English Rose set.  Marcella sure knows how to draw her roses!!  I think this baby is exquisite.  I decided to go plum with my color scheme and was really happy with how the image turned out.  However (before I assembled the card), my husband said, "Isn't it a bit dark?  It looks like a death rose.".  Yikes!!  I was going for a vintage feel, so hopefully the diecuts, papers and lace pulled it out of its dark hole.  The "Friends" sentiment is from the Folk Heart set.

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto X-Press It cs, colored with Copics, and distressed with Antique Linen Distress Inks.

If you haven't already, be sure to visit all the Bloom Brigaders for one last inspirational stop, and then of course, Power Poppy to shop.  :)

Copics:  V99, V95, V91, G28, G24, G20, YG95, YG21

That's it for this release.  I hope you've enjoyed the previews as much as I enjoyed working with these sets!!

Happy Stamping!

Everything's Rosy with Power Poppy

Helllloooo!!!  I'm back to share another Power Poppy card with y'all!!  On Tuesday, Power Poppy released a new digital set called Everything's Rosy, and it's exquisite!  Marcella has such a beautifully unique way of displaying flowers!  I love the sweet little mug and tea cup, and the roses....well they are a dream to color.  To me, this image could be modern, or vintage, so I went with vintage this time around.  I colored everything with Copics, and embellished it with anything I could find to give it a vintage feel.  I printed the sentiment onto a piece of Vellum cardstock and sewed all the panels together.

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2016/01/new-year-new-challenge.html

I also made this card a tall card for this month's Power and Spark challenge to Stretch yourself.  The image is new to me, as well as the die and button/lace trim.  I hope you'll take a moment to join in on the challenge if you haven't already!!

Now, for some more inspiration! Check out the following Bloom Brigade Blogs if you haven't already!

Power Poppy Sunflower Digi

Hello friends!!  I am so excited to share today's card with you!  Once again, it's time for another Power Poppy digi release, and today.......it's a SUNFLOWER appropriately called Sunflower Power!!!  When I first found out what today's release was going to be, I was checking my email via iphone, while stuck (seriously stuck) in LA traffic.  Let me tell you, there were no happy campers in that car.  So when my daughter saw me joyfully raise my hand up in the air she was really confused.  She actually asked if I was having a "coming to Jesus" moment.  The ornery child.  I was like....ah....no...I just found out I get to color sunflowers.  Hello!!!!  That calls for a raised "hallelujah" hand!!  *grin*  Seriously though, sunflowers are my all time favorite flower with Gerberas coming in a close second.  Now, that could be because they are very similar, but I'm not going to over think it.

So, for my Sunflower Power image, I colored it with Copics twice and popped up the outer portions of the image (Paper tole).  I also burnished the backs of the flowers for a little more dimension.  I printed the sentiment directly onto the the decorative paper and the rest is pretty self explanatory.

Now, if you haven't already, you so need to check out the blogs of the following Instant Gardners and Bloom Brigade:
Copics:  Sunflower: YR14, Y15, Y13, E44 Sunflower Center: YG05, E49, E47, E44, E43 Leaves:  G17, G14, YG05, E43

That's it for today y'all.  Be sure to stop by tomorrow.  I have a super fun card to share that I made for my Father-in-law's 87th birthday.

Happy Stamping!

French Lilacs ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/french-lilac
Hello my creative friends!!  I am super excited to share the new French Lilac digital image by Power Poppy!!  Did you see what the Instant Gardners did with this digital image earlier this week?  If not, click HERE for the links to all their blogs.  Shoot, even if you did already, they are worth another look.  :)

I have fond memories of Lilacs.  We lived in a small town in Illinois (pop. 1200) and would walk to school each day.  On the way I would pass this HUGE Lilac bush.  It was so tempting to break off a branch and carry it the rest of the way...but I didn't want to steal.  *sigh*  But I stopped every day to take a gigantic whiff.

For my card today, I printed the French Lilac image twice onto X-Press It Blending Cardstock and colored one of the image entirely with Copics.  I only colored a few (about 20) of the petals a second time, cut them each out and adhered them to the first image giving the image even more depth.  I also add some super tiny pink rhinestones to their centers and some Glossy Accents to the ladybug.

eta:  I forgot to mention that I edged the matting frame with a Gold Leafing Krylon Pen, and spritzed the entire image with Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz (Imagine Crafts)

Here's a close-up angled photo so you can see the depth of the petals better.

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2015/02/power-poppy-friday.htmlAlso, since it's Friday, we'd like to invite you to participate in our Power and Spark Challenge issued earlier this month by our very own super talented and sweet, Julie Koerber!  For all the details, click on the image.

Here are three sunrise photos that I used for inspiration for this card.  I was blessed to be able to spend my 25th wedding anniversary in Maui this year, and we biked down the Haleakala mountain.  Before you can bike down though, they drive you up to the top (about 10,000 feet) leaving around 2:00 am.  Once you get there, you wait for the sunrise.  It's incredibly cold, but oh, so worth it.  You are above the clouds, so you're waiting for the sun to rise above them, and it's quite a show.  My pictures do not do it justice.  The first picture is the one I used for my inspiration.

Here, the sun is just starting to rise above the clouds.

There are audible ooohs and ahhhhs as the sun finally peeks above the clouds.  It is incredible irl.  And then the steam starts moving toward you at quite a speed.  This is the second time we've done this in our lifetime, and I would do it again, and again.  There's nothing like it.

Now, if you haven't already, you will want to check out what the rest of the Bloom Brigade has to share.  Here are the links to their blogs:

Copics: Blooms:  BV13, BV00, RV11 Leaves: YG95, YG93, YG03, YG21 Stem: E27, E15 Ladybug:  R39, R29, R02 Background: Y28, Y26, Y23, Y21

That's it for me everyone!  I hope you've been inspired to join us in our Power and Spark Challenge

  Happy Stamping!

Waltzingmouse Stamps May Release Preview ~ Day 3

It's day 3 of the Waltzingmouse Release Previews and I have a little 4th of July Favor to share with you.  I thought it would be fun to make a box to put sparklers in and include a "book" of matches on a charming little tag that I made using Waltzingmouse's newest dies called the Folding Tag.

Here's a close-up of the tag closed with the "book" on top of it.  I made the book just by wrapping a mini box of matches with Live by the Sea dp by Maja Designs.  The sentiment on the book cover is from the WMS set USA 1776 set, as well as the Happy 4th of July sentiment I stamped on the top.

When you open up the tag, I included the "enjoy" sentiment from the new stamp set Tag Collection 1.

Here you can see the matches inside the book.

That's it for today's project.  The new release will be available tomorrow!!  Woo-Hoo!!  I'm looking forward to sharing tomorrow's project with you.  I included yet one more tag.  LOVE tags.  They're such a sweet addition to any project.

Here's a list of those hopping today:

Thank you so much for dropping by!
Happy Stamping!
