Waltzingmouse October Pajama Party

To see my Flourishes post, click HERE.

It's time for another Waltzingmouse Stamps Pajama Party and we have a wonderful variety of challenges for you. If you decide to join us in the fun, you'll have an opportunity to win some store credit. For all the details, click HERE

For my first project, I made a card fitting the Bedtime Story sketch, and the Art Deco challenge.  I used the diamonds from the Art Deco Backgrounds set, and the sentiment and medallion from the Art Deco Sentiments Set.  I'm in love with anything turquoise and aqua lately, so I used Versamagic's Sea Breeze as my pop of color.  along with some rhinestones and bling from Pizzazz Aplenty.

I LOVE, seriously LOVE Claire's Halloween images!!  They're always so fun and inspirational.  I thought it would be fun to combine the spooky church image, (from the All Hallows Eve set), with the Spooky Tree Backgrounder.  I had these wonderfully fun diecut images by Cottage Cutz, and thought they would work beautifully with these images.  I'm really happy with how this Easel card turned out.

This card fits under the Greenish Halloweenish challenge.

All the shapes were diecut out of Vintage Cream cardstock and ink distressed using the following Ranger Distress inks:

Background:  Shabby Shutters, Forest Moss, Black Soot
Pillars and Sign Placard:  Pumice Stone, Black Soot
Lights:  Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, Pumice Stone
Fence, Sign Base and Crow:  Black Soot
Pumpkins:  Dried Marigold, Rusty Hinge, Black Soot, Pine Needle, Forest Moss, Gathered Twigs
Branch:  Gathered Twigs
Grass: Crushed Olive, Pine Needle, Forest Moss
Cobwebs: Pumice Stone

For the card Easel base, I stamped the "Nevermore" sentiment with Versamark, embossed it with white embossing powder and sponged Crushed Olive and Black Soot Distress Ink over it so it wasn't so bright.

Here's a close up of the "greetings" sign.  I added a little punched bat to it too.  :)

The background was created using one of the All Hallows Eve images.  And the fence is a Spooky Iron Fence by Cottage Cutz.

That's it for me today.  Be sure to stop by the Waltzingmouse Makes Blog for more inspiration, and for all the PJ rules.
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!

I think I need to sit at your feet, and watch the master at work. LOVE this card! So many wonderful, (scary!) details, the posts and gate and pumpkins, and crow, well, I could go on, but others want to laud you, so I'll cut it short, WOW!

Such a constrast in styles - CAS elegance at its very best and distressed layers also the best! I think they are both fantastic. Love the spooky easel card!
