Paperwhites Minc'd ~ Power Poppy Happiest Holiday Collection

http://powerpoppy.com/products/glistening-paperwhites
Hello, Hello, Hello!!  I'm back after a 1 day hiatus, and I am super excited to share today's card with you!  The Bloom Brigade is featuring a beautiful new stamp set called Glistening Paperwhites, and the minute I saw it, I knew it had to be Minc'd on Vellum!!!

Since these flowers are "Glistening Paperwhites", it stands to reason that they need to be white, right?  And sparkly... ;)  So I stamped my image onto copy paper and then copied it onto vellum with our copy machine that uses toner ink for the White Foil to adhere too.  I then cut a piece of White Foil to size, laid it on the "tonered" image, and ran it through my Minc machine.  I was in love!!  The white on the vellum is so elegant without anything else done to it.  But I didn't stop there.  Oh no!!  There's more...

Next, I burnished the back of the image to give it texture.  I feel with it burnished, it's easier for the Copic markers to adhere and blend a bit to the Vellum.  There is no scientific proof of this, and I'm, by no means, an expert.  I just like the way they worked after the burnishing.

Lastly I added a touch (and I mean only a touch) of sparkle with my Quickie Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter by Stampin' Up!.  I wanted the White Foil to be the focal point.  Marcy's images have such fabulous detail, and Minc'ing with the Foil captures every little detail, no matter how minute.  If you click on the image, it will zoom in and you can see the detail and sparkle even better.

Now, glue shows through Vellum, so I just used some metal clips to hold my Minc'd Vellum piece in place and sewed around the image, and added a sage green base to the back.

I added a sentiment, as well as one of the individual Paperwhites to the inside (embossed with white detailed embossing powder), and included a pair of white lines (that I hand drew with my White Signo Pigmented ink pen), as well as a couple of Rhinestones to finish it off.

That's it for today's project my friends!!  Tomorrow is THE DAY!!!  All 5 new Power Poppy stamp sets will be available for purchase.  Now tell me...can you choose just one?  I didn't think so.  Each one is so unique and charming.  I have one more project to share with you tomorrow, so please drop by again.

Vellum Botanical Tree ~ Power Poppy October Release

Hello friends!!  Finally... it's time for another Power Poppy Release called Happiest Holiday Collection, and people...let me tell you...this one is F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!!!

http://powerpoppy.com/collections/happiest-holiday-collection
We're starting the previews off with the Botanical Tree clear stamp set.  Isn't it charming with its gorgeous poinsettias, roses and berries?  I thought this image would look fabulous on Vellum, and I was very pleased with the result.  I only used a few Copics to color the back of the image, and added some sparkle to the poinsettias and berries with some glitter.  I added a separate poinsettia (included in the set) to the beautifully fonted sentiment and diecut it with Fancy Tags 2 (Spellbinders).  Lastly, I added a few mini-Dew Drops to the poinsettia center and the sentiment tag.  It's pretty CAS (Clean and Simple), but I think it packs a sweet punch.

Copics:  BG49, BG45, YG67, YG06

That about sums up my card for today.  Be sure to stop by the following Bloom Brigade Blogs for some more inspiration:

 http://powerpoppy.com/collections/happiest-holiday-collection

Power Poppy's November release is now available for purchase!!!  Woo-Hoo!!  It's actually the second of two Holiday Releases.  You can find them both HERE.  I used the new Oh Holy Night set for today's card.  I just embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder onto Vellum, adhered it to some silver cardstock, and added an embellished bow.  The frame was embossed with Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

That's it for me.  Be sure to check out what the rest of the Bloom Brigade has to share for inspiration!!

Now, a quick description of my card.  I decided to stamp the Lavender sprigs onto vellum and color them with Copics.  Now, they don't blend well on vellum, and you have to heat set the ink (Tuxedo Black, Memento) before coloring.  So be conservative with the coloring.   You also have to use much darker colors in order for them to show on the vellum.  I like the soft overall look though.  I stamped the sentiment "Thanks Bunches", with Smokey Gray Versafine ink, directly onto the decorative paper.

Copics:  BV13, BV08, G96, G85

Doesn't this sound like fun!!!  I hope you'll join in!  We'd love to see what you do with these gorgeous images!!
