A Look back at 2013 ~ Day 1

I've never done a year review of my designs before, but I've enjoyed seeing other designers' reviews so much, that I thought it would be something fun to try this year. I have been blessed to be able to design for 3 different companies this past year (Waltzingmouse Stamps, Flourishes and Our Daily Bread Designs, and guest design for Really Reasonable Ribbon), and had a hard time choosing my favorites. I loved working with each company and their variety of images so much. So, I've broken my posts up into two. This first one will be Jan. thru June.

January

Felt Puffy Heart ~ Compact Family (Waltzingmouse Stamps)

Love is all we need ~ Woodgrain and My Heart (Waltzingmouse Stamps)

February

You're a Star ~ Say it Loud (Waltzingmouse Stamps)

March

April

So Very Kind ~ My Kind of Guy (Waltzingmouse Stamps)

May

June

That's it for the first half of the year.

I want to take this time to thank all of you for your generous support with your warm, encouraging comments too.  I so enjoy stamping, coloring and paper crafting, and the stamp sets I've been blessed to be able to work with are so inspiring!

Happy Stamping!

Our Daily Bread December Release Preview

It's time for Our Daily Bread's December release and I made some bookmarks using the new Ornate   Border Sentiments set from this month's release.  They're perfect for adding little encouraging sentiments to a project.

My daughter went out of state to college, and sometimes can get overwhelmed, so I thought I'd make something to help her get through those moments.  I used the Bookmarks ~Trees set along with the coordinating Bookmarks dies and designed a little pocket for it too.  The sentiments are from the Ornate Border Sentiments set, and the image was colored with Copics.

Here's a second bookmark I made using watercolor paper and Tombows with an Ornate Border sentiment.

That's it from me today.  Be sure to check out all the inspiration the rest of the gals have to share.  You won't want to miss a stop!!

Our Daily Bread November Preview

For my Flourishes post, Click HERE.

I'm excited to share two cards with you today using the new Our Daily Bread Designs set Christmas Pattern Ornaments that coordinate with the new ODBD Circle Ornaments dies.

For my first card I layered embossing.  I stamped the snowflake ornament image, with Versamark, onto white cardstock, and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I then took Platinum Planet Brilliance Pigment Ink and sponged it over the embossed image and again embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I love how vintage it looks with the white snowflakes showing through, and you get a nice sheen irl.  I then diecut it using the new ODBD Circle Ornaments dies.

I covered the Nobel Rectangle diecut frame (Spellbinders), with the same Platinum Planet ink, as well as the holly embossed background, and the sentiment opening in the Grommet Tags (Spellbinders) diecut piece.  The Icicles die (Spellbinders), has glitter on the embossed sections.

Here's a closer look at the ornament snowflake image.  Aren't those flakes gorgeous!!  I love the detail.

I was definitely in the embossing mode for this release.  I stamped the smaller ornament, from the Christmas Pattern Ornaments set, with Versamark, onto black cardstock and embossed it with black embossing powder.  I then stamped it, with Versamark, onto white cardstock, and again, embossed it with black embossing powder.  I love the contrast.    I added a gable to the top using ODBD's new Christmas Paper Collection 2013.  It has a rich Victorian feel which fits beautifully with these ornament images.  I added some enamel dots, twine, a couple of jingle bells, flowers and rhinestones to finish it off.

Here's a closer look so you can see the fine detail of the image.

Here's a list of all the dt members who have some wonderful holiday inspiration to share with you today:

Happy Birthday Kelley!!

It's Kelley's birthday today, and we are celebrating with a little ODBD birthday hop.
I think this Violet image is just beautiful, so I decided to use it to make her card.  I added the birthday sentiment from the Hyacinth set.

My card is pretty straightforward, so I'll just send you on for the rest of the hop.  Here is a list of all those participating today.

ODBD October Release Preview

I'm so excited that October is finally here.  These next two months are my favorite of the whole year.  Now if only the weather would cooperate.  I'm ordering
cooler temperatures.  Well, being that it's the first of October, I have a couple of cards to share using one of ODBD newest releases called Candy Cane.

I created my first card with a rustic vintage feel.  I love the rustic look of the candy cane and bow.  So I colored it with Copics, cut it out and mounted it over a Vellum bag and tag by Melissa Frances.

Here's a look at the tag...sweet and simple.

I made my second card CAS.  I just layered 3 strips of Washi tape in the background, and diecut the main panel with the A2 Spellbinders Card Creator die.  Easy peasy.

That's it for me.  Here's a list of everyone sharing their previews today.
