I have so much to be Thankful for, so I decided to make a "Thank You" card today.   Let me explain how I made this card.  I was inspired by Dina's Mixed Media Tutorial found HERE.  It looked like so much fun that I had to try it.  I used only 2 acrylic colors:  turquoise and metallic Silver.   After adding the acrylics to the background, I stamped the sentiment, from the Thank You set, with Smokey Gray Versafine.  The tulip was stamped with Gray Flannel Memento Ink onto Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and colored with Copic Cool Neutrals and Spruce.  I cut it out and layered if over the main panel.

I used some stencils and the So Distressed set for the background.  I started by inking Smokey Gray Versafine over the Stripes Stencil, then adding Tumbled Glass Ranger Distress Ink using the same Stripes stencil.  I just moved it over a bit.  I then stamped the splotchy distress image over the stripes using Smokey Gray Versafine again.  So easy.

Lastly, I added the sentiment "With Gratitude" to a horizontal strip and embellished it with two cut off pieces from an ornate die from Ironwork Accents (Spellbinders), and two little Ice Green Pearls (Kaisercraft).

That's it for me.
Here are the links to the two Copic Collections I used:

Waltzingmouse Pajama Party

It's time for another Waltzingmouse Pajama Party, and there are a wonderful variety of challenges for you to participate in!!  Just head on over to the Waltzingmouse Makes Blog for all the details.

I chose to make a Thank You card in honor of the Thanksgiving season, and couldn't resist working with the Fine Feathers set and its coordinating Fine Feathers dies.  I used two different ink colors:  Pumpkin Spice and Jumbo Java (VersaMagic).  I thought they would give a nice warmth to my thank you card.  The Thank You sentiment is from the lovely set Folk Art Medallion.  I just love the fun font!

That's it from me today.  I've been out of town, so I didn't get a chance to participate in any of the other challenges!!  There's still time though.  So, head on over to the Waltzingmouse Makes Blog to find out how you can participate!

Happy Stamping!!

Flourishes Free for All Friday ~ Release Rewind

Today we bring you another round of inspiration created with our brand new November Release Stamp sets from the Senior Design Team. We had so much fun with them we just couldn’t stop making cards! It’s our chance to show them off at least one more time while you can still purchase the November Stamp Bundle at a discount! Today is the last day the discount is available and we don’t want you to miss out!

I combined the sets Grab a Cup and So Distressed to make a tag to go with a mug filled with chocolates.  I stamped the different distress images on the background, of Flourishes Classic Ivory, with a variety of colors, and colored the coffee cup with Copics. The back of the tag is Flourishes Classic Kraft with a Punched border.

Here are the links to the Copics I used:

Waltzingmouse November Release Preview ~ Day 4

I can't believe it's Day 4 of the Waltzingmouse previews already!!  Aren't these stamp sets and dies fantastic?  Claire never ceases to amaze me with her creativity!!

Today we were to showcase a Christmas decoration or ornament.  I just created another wall hanging (out of the frame because of the glare on the glass) using the mountain and snow scene.  Love the variety in this Alpine Christmas set!!  The mountains were stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder, and the rest of the scene was stamped with Gray Flannel Memento Ink.  For the snowflake background, I used the Emboss Resist technique.

That's it for me today.

Waltzingmouse November Release Preview ~ Day 3

Boy, this week is going fast!  It's already day 3 of the Waltzingmouse previews, and we're sharing some Christmas Tag ideas with you today.

I chose to use the new Folk Art Christmas set with the smallest Opera Tag die as the topper to my tag.  I decorate my tree and gifts all in red/white so I thought I'd make some tags to go with my wrapped packages. I stamped 3 of the images, with Versamark, onto red cardstock, embossed them with white, cut them out and added them to the tags with some dimensional tape.  Before adding them, though,  I added some score lines to various places on the tags, and a sentiment stamped with Onyx Black Versafine.  Lastly, I added some twine.

Happy Birthday Princess Julie!!

For my Waltzingmouse post, click HERE

Today is a special day for the Flourishes Family.  We get to celebrate our Birthday Girl - Julie Koerber!  And Julie is definitely worth celebrating!  She’s the right hand on so many levels of what’s beautiful about Flourishes, and we’re so grateful for her and blessed to also call this lovely lady friend.

This summer a number of the Flourishes Senior Design Team girls gathered for a weekend in Yellowstone National Park.  It was a fantastic time of fun!  One of the great things some of the girls did was go Whitewater Rafting.  Because there were family members along, Julie graciously said she’d sit in the middle of the raft so the kids could get the most out of the experience.  The raft guide however thought that would be a fun opportunity to tease Julie about her “Princess" status.  She gracefully took it and we love to tease her about it - and so the idea for this Princess Birthday Hop was born!  Julie we love you and your fun, spunky spirit, and also the warmth and grace you live your life with!  Happy Birthday from all of us at Flourishes!

I chose to put the crown, from the Make a Wish set, center stage.  And of course, a lot of sparkle was used in the making of this card!  ;)  Although we now tease Julie of being a princess, she acts nothing like one.  She's not pretentious, she doesn't demand attention, and she's one of the most warm, thoughtful, and kind ladies I've had the honor of meeting!  We all had the most wonderful time in Yellowstone.  Even though I was very new to the team, they welcomed me with open arms.  I'm truly honored and blessed to call Julie, and the rest of the group (as well as their wonderful families), friends.

Happy, Happy Birthday my dear friend!!  I hope your day is blessed to overflowing!!  You deserve that and so much more!!  {{HUGS}}

Isn't she sitting pretty?  Just like a princess should!!  ;)

We invite you to hop along today with many of our Flourishes Family to see our pretty Princess and Birthday inspiration, and join in on our wishes for Julie!

Comment along the way and you could be entered to win any Birthday set of your choice from the Flourishes Store!  Winners will be chosen and announced on Saturday November 23rd on the Flourishes Blog.

And don’t forgot to drop by Julie’s place to send her your Happy Birthday wishes too!

Waltzingmouse November Release Preview ~ Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of Waltzingmouse's November release.  Have you been enjoying the new images and dies?  Well today we're all making Christmas cards using old and new sets.  I chose to use an older set called Opera Tags Christmas, along with the coordinating dies Opera Tags.  I stamped the tag, using Rich Cocoa Memento Luxe, onto It's Christmas Time (Maja Design) dp and die cut it using one of the Opera Tags.  I then stamped the sentiment onto it using Versamark ink, and embossed it with white embossing powder.  The Layered Poinsettia (Spellbinders), was ink distressed with Antique Linen Ranger Distress Ink, and then layered with Shabby White Embossing Enamel and a Glass Button (Melissa Frances).

Below is a close-up of the poinsettia and tag.

If you haven't already had an opportunity to check out the rest of the team's Christmas inspiration, here are the links.  You won't want to miss a stop.

Waltzingmouse Stamps November Release Preview ~ Day 1

There are some exciting new things going on over at Waltzingmouse Stamps. Not only is Claire releasing super charming stamps sets, but she's developed dies for some of your most favorite images!

I have two wall hangings to share with you today.  Both are framed in 8x8 shadow boxes.

For my first project, I used the  Fine Feather set.

The feathers, in the Waltzingmouse Fine Feather set, are exquisitely detailed.  And now she has dies that coordinate with them.

This project was super simple, and only a bit time consuming.  I stamped three of the feathers, 8 times each, onto Vellum with Versamark.  I then heat embossed them with white embossing powder and die cut them with the new Fine Feather dies.  After that, I snipped each feather in various places to give them a softer feel, and mounted them to a textured piece of Core Impressions Modern Prints Collection by Pink Paislee.  I love flowers and birds, so I thought this was a fun combination.

Here's a closer look at the feather detail.

For my next project, I used the new Alpine Christmas stamp set to make a wall hanging.
Above is my project framed.  Sorry for the glare on the top.  No matter where I took the picture, I couldn't get rid of some of it.  You can see the background pretty well though, and I'm really happy with it.  I just took Kraft cardstock, scored it every 1/4 inch, turned it over and scored it between each previously scored lines.  I then added a hint of Vintage Photo Distress Ink over it.

Here it is unframed.  For the main panel, I diecut a snowflake from the center, and while the die was still in the paper, I stamped the snowflakes, from the Alpine Christmas set, with Versamark, onto Vintage Cream Cardstock, and embossed them with White embossing powder.  I then ink distressed, from the outside in, with Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, and Walnut Stain.

See the little scene on the inside?  Claire has designed the sweetest little snow village with buildings and trees that fit together.  However, you can create your own little village like I did.  I wanted the church by the "w", and the little trio of buildings tucked up right under the word "snow".  I then took my white Sharpie pen and colored the roofs and splattered some "snow" with it over the background.

Here's a close up, so you can see the sweet little buildings, and the depth of the diecut.  I popped it up with dimensional tape.  The back panel is ink distressed with Pumice Stone Ranger Distress Ink.

Well, my friends, that's it for my projects today.
