Christmas Corgis ~ Power Poppy Happiest Holiday 2018 Preview

https://powerpoppy.com/collections/happiest-holiday-2018
Are you ready for some previews? We're getting ready for Power Poppy's Happiest Holiday 2018 release, and today we're featuring the super adorable and creative Christmas Corgis.  I know you know where Marcy's inspiration came from.  ;)

I love this little guy getting into mischief with a bow from a package.  I can totally see my Shih poo doing this very thing, as I'm sure many of you can relate with your little "fur-babies".

http://powerpoppy.com/products/christmas-corgis/I colored him first with Copics and then added some fur highlights with Polychromo pencils. The package was all paper pieced with papers from Simple Stories' paper pack Winter Wonderland, and the sentiment was "rock-n-rolled" with two Distress Inks:  Barn Door and Aged Mahogany.  I also stamped a few little paw prints in the background and colored them in with Copics.

That's it for my project today, but you must check out with the following Bloom Brigaders have to share:

Power Poppy Wedding Hop

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
One of the most exciting events that we can celebrate is a wedding.   And boy, oh boy, is Marcella and Doug's wedding going to be one to top the charts.  They are both so genuine, creative, fun, happy, charming, delightful, free spirited, warm, welcoming, personable, kind, caring, tender, thoughtful, and empowering people!  Seriously, seeing these two together is a blessing in and of itself.  They truly complete each other and their thoughtfulness and love literally spills out onto all those who are fortunate enough to be in their presence at any given time.

The Power Poppy Design Teams are excited to help in their wedding celebration by putting on a blog hop of the most celebratory kind!!  WEDDING CARDS and sweet little congratulatory notes.

Marcella and Doug!!  I am so happy for the both of you, and am excited to see what God has planned for you together!!!  LOVE ya bunches!!!

Okay...now for the card... I chose to use the Champagne bottle from Power Poppy's Dream Wedding set because, lets face it, Champagne represents celebration!  And Marcella is the most bubbly person I know!  In the absolute best ways possible!!!

I paper pieced the bottle using some watercolor paper that I colored using Distress Inks.  The wrapped top is gold paper, and the bow is vellum that I colored using Copic Markers.

I added Crystal Clear Glass Effect Gel (Viva Decor) dots to the background and sprinkled them with Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU!)  After they dried, I diecut the image with an Outside In Stitched Scalloped Squares die by Lawn Fawn.  The Glitter dots were embossed right into the cardstock causing a really cool effect.  LOVE it.  I also added some sparkle to the Champagne bottle with a Quickie Glue Pen and glitter too.  One can never have enough sparkle...just sayin'...

Well...that about sums up my Power Poppy Project for today.  Be sure to visit all the Bloom Brigade and Instant Gardener Blogs.  You won't want to miss a stop, I assure you!!  And please, if you are inclined, stop by the Power Poppy Blog to share some sweet Wedding Wishes for Marcella and Doug!

A Caffeine Ladened Happy Birthday

My son is quite the coffee drinker, so I thought it would be fun to make a "coffee" card, with a gift card included inside, for his birthday.  I used a few Waltzingmouse dies, along with the Waltzingmouse set We go together.  I paper-pieced the coffee cup after dicutting out the base (with the coordinating We go together die set) out of burlap designed dp.  I then popped it up with dimensional tape onto a tag that I diecut using the Stitched tags die set.

The frame took a bit more work.  I diecut out the leaf frame (using the Stitched Rectangles die set), then I took the same die, laid it over some black decorative paper, and traced the inside of the die, with an exacto knife, so I could have a perfect matting.  I then glued the leaf frame to the black piece and trimmed around the outside of the frame so the inside and outside had a nice clean, crisp, black matting.  Easy-peasy and I like the dimension it gives.  It's also popped up with dimensional tape.

I stamped the sentiment "Happy birthday" (from the set Hello, Happy, Thanks), with Onyx Black Versafine ink, directly onto some decorative paper and fussy cut them both out.  Happy is popped up also with dimensional tape.

Lastly, I added a little "coffee" strip that I Ink Isolated from one of the sentiments in the We go together set.

That's about sums up today's card.

I hope you get a chance to get inky this weekend.  It's therapeutic I tell ya!!

Be sure to stop by on the 25th for a peak at a new Power Poppy digi.  It's delicious!!

   Happy Stamping!!
