Camping entertainment

Aren't these guys just the cutest? I don't have a card to share with you today. It seems my mojo stayed on vacation. So not fair. I might as well as stayed on vacation too then...*grin* I just had to share these three photos of the entertainment for the few days we were camping. These guys are everywhere and boy do they make sure you know they're there too. They have LUNGS!! *grin*

Here's the final photo. I got such a kick outta that front little guy. He kept poking his head through the picnic table hole...too cute!

Oh, how sweet. Sorry your mojo is still on holiday (join the club), but I am really glad you shared these photos today. We don't have any species of woodpeckers here in Ireland, and along with cardinals, they are a bird I would love to see.

Thanks for the bird lesson this morning, Tosh! Hubby and sons wanted to know what kind it was and our bird book didn't have a good match so we had to do an internet search. Our best guess is an acorn woodpecker. Do you know for sure? It is a beautiful bird!

Tosh - I adore your photography. These look like baby woodpeckers, but whatever they are, they're adorable and I'm so glad you posted these photos. What a treat to stop in today and visit you.

Oh my, they are so cute!!! To answer Tracy Harp...I do believe it is an Acorn Woodpecker. They are very common in California.
