Blowing Wishes Your Way

August+RW+Challenge+GraphicThe month of August has rolled in and many of us are beginning to think ahead to Autumn. How about we throw a fun color challenge at you that mixes Summer and Autumn colors together and challenge you to create something with the potential to WIN our August New Releases! Here are the colors: A lovely teal, a rich rust and a neutral gray. What we love about this challenge is that all of these colors can be found in our Flourishes Color Made Easy Collections. Emerald Coast, Terra Cotta and either Cool Neutrals or Tonal Neutrals, isn't that great? Some of the Flourishes Design Team were blessed to be able to gather together just a few weeks ago in Yellowstone National Park for a wonderful weekend. We realized that there was some beautiful scenery right in front of us that matched the colors of our challenge this month, so we thought we'd show that off to you as well... DSC_0036-WM

Beautifully colored mineral Ink Pots in just the right shades!

My card is pretty straightforward.  No fancy techniques.  I stamped the pinwheels, from the Flourishes set Pinwheels and Popsicles, with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, colored them with Copics,  and put them in a decorative paper diecut flower pot (Spellbinders).

Here are the Copic sets I used:

Waltzingmouse August Release Previews ~ Day 2

Welcome to day two of this month's Waltzingmouse Stamps release.  The DT is previewing 3 sets again today:  Funky Flowers, Two Step Sprig and Simple Sprig.

For my first card today, I white embossed the largest Funky Flower and added a Turquoise Gem (VersaMagic) inked center along with another layer of White Embossed dots.  I used the birthday sentiment, from the Folk Art Label 25 set, to finish it off, along with some rhinestones and a punched border.

For my second card I used the Two Step Sprig set.  To create the flowers, I stamped the base with Wheat (VersaMagic), the highlights with Magnolia Bud (VersaMagic), and the center outline with Smokey Gray (Versafine), and the center was rock-and-rolled with Sierra Vista (VersaMagic) and Smokey Gray (Versafine).  The leaves were stamped as follows:  Base ~ Sage (VersaMagic), Center Sprigs ~ Niagara Mist (VersaMagic), and Center Stem ~ Smokey Gray (Versafine).  The sentiment is from the Words of Wisdom set.

For my last card today, I combined Simple Sprig with Two Step Sprig.  I started by stamping the leaf branch, from the Two Step Sprig set, with Key Lime ink (VersaMagic).  I then stamped the leaf branch from Simple Sprig over the top using Tea Leaves ink (VersaMagic).  I added a sentiment from the Playful Pinwheels set, some bling and scoring, and woila...a CAS card.

That's it for me today, here's a list of the DT participating in the previews today:

Thank you so much for dropping by.  I hope you're being inspired to get out your WMS stamps and start getting inky!!  Happy stamping!!

Waltzingmouse August Release Previews ~ Day 1

What an exciting week this is!!  Waltzingmouse stamps is releasing 9 sets of delicious stamps!  You won't want to miss one single day of previews.  Today we're featuring 3 of those sets:  Tying the Knot, Safe Harbor Sentiments and Ocean Bound.

I framed a Safe Harbor Sentiment using a Labels 28 die (Spellbinders) and some ink distressing with Iced Spruce (Ranger Distress Ink).  I added a sweet little anchor (Studio Calico) to the sentiment and a duo of rhinestones  (Pizzazz Aplenty) to one of the angled panels.  The dp is Renew (Authentique).

I went CAS for my second card.  I love the sweet heart-shaped knot from the Tying the knot set and thought it would look cute with just a sentiment added.

For my third card I created my own backgrounds with images from the Ocean Bound set.  The rope stripes were created using Night Sky and Sea Breeze Inks (VersaMagic), and the rope circle and anchor were embossed with White ep.  The sentiment along the side was also embossed, only using Black ep.  Lastly, I tied a sailors know with some red string (Olive Manna).

That's it for me today.  I had one more card made with these sets, but I decided to save it for the last day.  I tell ya, Claire's sets are so inspirational, the ideas just keep flowing.  I'm including a list of the DT sharing previews today in case you've missed a stop.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ! Before you go, please stop by Claire's blog for some important information about the store's email notifications.  During their recent upgrade, they lost the facility for people to sign up for email notifications.  These include special sales and upcoming events and competitions.  So be sure to head on over to the Waltzingmouse blog to make sure you're either still on the list, or need to re-add your email address.

Flourishes Sweet Peas

Today the Design Team has some fun for you with a sweet-smelling summer flower that we all love...Sweet Peas! These dainty and colorful blooms look so beautiful on this stamp set that you'd be sure you can smell their fragrance as well!

I went all sparkly on ya'll today.  :)  I just couldn't help myself.  The A2 Filigree Delight and Opulent Ovals dies just seemed to be begging for it.  So how could I refuse, right?  I colored the Sweet Peas with Copics and framed them with a variety of Spellbinders dies. (Listed under supplies below)  No tricks or special techniques today.  Just straight forward elegance.  These Sweet Peas are so beautifully designed, they deserve to "shine"!

That's it for my project today.
Now, take a look at the beauties the Design Team has for you.
Here are the Copics I used for the Sweet Peas:

ODBD August New Release

Welcome to the ODBD August New Release!
Today I'm sharing a couple of cards made with the new Pickles set.  I wanted to show that they can be both elegant, and comical.
First, I colored the circular image with Copics and framed it with Spellbinders' Asian Motifs dies.  The middle square panel was embossed using a Cuttlebug folder.

I included the larger pickle image on the inside, along with the verse John 15:1.

For my second card, I stamped the smaller pickle 3 times onto Eclipse tape and cut them out for a mask to create this background.

Two pretty simple, straight forward cards, but you get the idea of this set right?  :)

Here's a look at the whole set:

Now, I bet you'd like to know how you can get your hands on this new release:  Well, here are the Prize Details:
