Flourishes July Release Preview ~ Day 4

PinwheelsGraphic
Hasn't this been a fun July Release? I know you've enjoyed it as much as we have in bringing it to you, but it's not over quite yet! We're so excited to bring you one more stamp set, and it's a fantastic new Birthday and Celebration set today! We think it's the cutest thing ever, and we know when you see it you'll agree! Introducing.... Pinwheels and Popsicles.

Light it up and help those in your life to wish big! This set is perfect to send a little note of celebration in an envelope. From "cool" images to "sweet" sentiments, Pinwheels and Popsicles illustrated by Marcella Hawley is the perfect birthday stamp set! Set measures 4" by 6" and offers five main images and seven fun-filled coordinating sentiments. Let us show this set off to you with the Senior Design Team.

It was so hard for me to choose what image to work with in this set because each one is so charming and so beautifully illustrated.  I finally decided on the lanterns and thought it would be fun to include some silver glass glitter behind an acetate window to go with this week's Timeless Tuesday Challenge.  You still have time to participate and have a chance to win Flourishes entire July release too.  Be sure to check out the Flourishes Blog for all the details.

Flourishes July Release Preview ~ Day 3

AnemonesGraphicThere are some sets that are so touching and fit a purpose that you really needed. Something that conveys those messages of concern and care that is really meaningful, and we think this is one of those beautiful sets. We're pleased to introduce to you....Anemones.  This latest offering, from artist Sam Pickard, is a perfect stamp set to have on hand to let your friends in need know that you care. This 4 by 6" set features a beautiful bunch of Anemone flowers, a single stem, plus five beautifully scripted sentiments all with a calm and caring message. We think you'll love it and we're excited for the Design Team to show you what they have in store today.

I went CAS toay.  I diecut a rectangle, scored the sides using my Scor-Buddy, and popped it up over my Copic colored Anemones. (I added some Stardust Stickles to the flowers too.) I then added my sentiment, which I stamped onto a Vellum flag using Stazon ink, and a button with a rhinestone glued to the center.

That about sums up my card for today.

Flourishes July Release Preview ~ Day 2

Dappled summer light and pretty flowers, don't you sometimes wonder what sweet little creatures might be visiting your flower garden? Today we have a precious set to show you that might just have you believing in fairies! It's called Garden Fairies.

Add a dash of whimsy with these sweet little ladies who love to flutter and fly through the garden. This set, penned by Lauren Pope, offers two main fairy images and five beautifully scripted sentiments to lift spirits and bring smiles! Set measures 4 by 6".

GardenFairiesGrahpicI love dandelions!!  So, of course I chose that image to work with today.  I stamped the fairy two times, on Cryogen White card stock, with Tuxedo Black (Memento), and once on Vellum.  I then colored each with Copics.  For the Vellum, however, I stamped the image with Stazon.  I then cut out and layered the fairy with her bodice and right arm over top the vellum wings, and then layered those over the main image so I could get the depth on the vellum wings.  I also added some glitter to her skirt, wings and dandelions, as well as the added butterflies.  The oval inked frame was achieved by leaving the card stock in the die and inking it with Tumbled Glass Ranger Distress Ink.  I inked the sentiment frame with Spun Sugar Ranger Distress Ink.

I used the A2 Bracket Borders One dies to cut the top corners too, to tie in the bottom border.

That's it for me today.

I colored the image with Copics and layered it onto some Color Made Easy Card Stock: Sugar Cookie ~ Sunflower and Sea Moss ~ Emerald Coast

I don't have any Acetate on my card, but I created the background, to my image, using the Smackin' Acetate Technique with a Tombow Marker and mister.

Flourishes Sketchy Challenge

It's July! And we're ushering in a brand new month of great stamps in the coming week from Flourishes! So that means a great new challenge we're inviting you to join us in! This month it's a fun sketch to get your creativity jump-started, and you can learn about all the details at the end of this post.

One of my mom's favorite flowers was the purple pansy, and when I saw this sketch, I thought the pansies from the A Year in Flowers 1 would fit beautifully in an octagon shape.

So I colored them with Copics using purple hues and framed them with dp from Prima's Lyric 6x6 pad.  I also embossed the background using a Sizzix embossing folder, and scored around the "ticket" at the top.  The "Nature is the Art of God" is a sentiment from Ferns and Fiddles.  And the butterfly was just fussy cut from the dp.

IRL this card is very dimensional.  I used some pretty thick foam mounting squares, but it's so hard to capture with a camera.

I'm the tail ender here, but I've included the links to the other creative Design Team members in case you missed a stop along the way.

Now, for some lovely inspiration with this sketch here's what the Design Team has to show off...
