Waltzingmouse Celebrates it's 100th Sketch!!

Howdy ya'll!!! There's quite the celebration goin' on over at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog. They're celebrating their 100th sketch challenge!! How awesome is that!! And Claire is makin' this a bigun'!! There promises to be giveaways and even a guest Mischief Maker spot. Be sure to check out Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog for all the details!! :)

Now for my project, it just so happens one of my nephews is celebrating his birthday today too. So I hauled out my two favorite western sets, Back in the Saddle and Way Out West and got to work. I really like how my tag turned out. The background was stamped with the little circle star and horseshoes, and I even added a pair of boots that I rock-n'-rolled with Iced Spruce (Ranger Distress), and Espresso Truffle (Memento). For the star, I used a scoring technique that I found on pinterest by Tamara. Click HERE for the tutorial (scroll down a bit, it's her second post.)

I also stamped the wood grain, from the Way Out West set, onto the chocolate vertical piece, but it's hard to see in the photo. To age the staples a bit, I just took a Q-tip and rubbed some black Stazon over them.

That about sums it all up. Be sure to stop by the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog to see what the Mischief Makers have been up to, along with some of the WMS DT. It's full of fun inspiration!!

Happy Stamping!!

Wow!!!
This is the best use of Way out West and Back in the Saddle I've ever seen!

I love how aged the "photo" is, how did you make that splattered effect? I'd also love to get to know exactly how you got that aged effect on the boots! Can I please, please ask for a detailed tutorial?

Ingenious use of all the decorations! (That little red star is perfect!) You're a true master!
