Black-Eyed Susan ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
Hello creative friends!!  I'm finally back to share another Power Poppy card with you!  It's featuring a new digital image called Black-Eyed Susan.  I took creative liberty and made mine white with a mottled gray background.  I started coloring it with yellows, oranges and deep reds and just wasn't feeling it.  So white they are.  I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the stamen tips too.  Unfortunately, as always, it doesn't photograph well.  I wanted this card to be for my daughter's birthday, so instead of using the sentiments that come with this set (they are fabulous by-the-way), I added a "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Power Poppy Go Wild clear set.

For my card base, I embossed a panel and added some Pure Platinum Nuvo Embellishment Mousse to give it a gilded effect.  It has just the right amount of shine in real life.

I colored some black stamens with a Silver Leafing Pen (Krylon), so they would match the flower stamens in the image a bit better, and added it to a seam binding bow.

CopicsFlower ~ BV31, N5, N3, N1  Leaves ~ BG96, BG93, BG90, YG11, Background ~ N7, N3, N3, N1, N0

That's it for me.

I could not wait to see your shabby chic design, my friend, and you did NOT disappoint!!! You do jaw-dropping, swoon-worthy things with paper that NO ONE else does! Just incredible! I adore the mottled gray background, the soft touch of green on the leaves, and of course your amazing embellishments & RIBBON! You KNOW Winslow would be all over that ribbon! I hope you are having a most amazing weekend! You are in my prayers, sweet sister! xo

Oh, Tosh! I absolutely LOVE this card! You are the Queen of Vintage/Shabby Chic, and this is stunning! I love the soft color of your flowers and the beautifully soft green for your leaves. And the background is amazing! I love how you've really brought the flowers to the forefront so that they seem to be sitting on your card. And the background for your card base is stunning with the mousse! I need to check out that product, because it's a soft and subtle touch. Your daughter's friend is going to love this card, and the beautiful ribbon and the crocheted flower just add to this beauty! Stunning, sweet friend, and enjoy the weekend! Hugs! xoxo
