I am so excited to share today's project with you. I've been working on it for a little while now. We just finished some remodeling in our house and one of the rooms was our den where we had a built in entertainment center removed. It had four window paned doors, and my friend Bernie suggested I keep them and re-purpose them. Genius!! So, we took one of the doors, removed the handle and filled in the holes. It was already green (yes I paint oak and am not ashamed to admit it), so we just added some Graphite and White Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and sanded it to distress it a bit.
Now, I wanted some clear space behind my colored images, so I went to the local glass store and had them create a back panel of glass to hold everything in place. My dear husband added the Picture Frame Turn Buttons, because man, oak is hard to drill into. He also added the sweet little glass door knobs I got at Hobby Lobby as well as the brackets on the back to hang this heavy baby up.
So, now about the Power Poppy images. I decided to use all digital images because I could make them as large as I want. Each image is approximately 5"x7", and is colored with Copics. I listed the Copics I used at the bottom of this post.
I usedthe following Power Poppy digital images: Peonies, French Lilac, Tulips, Gerbera Daisies, and Camellias (Power Poppy Digital) I took a picture of each panel outside of the windowed frame because the glare would make it hard to see all of Marcella's beautiful details. For the background, I just scored the cardstock, distressed it, and added some stitching around the borders.
Here's a close-up look at each panel:
Also, time is running out for the Power & Spark Challenge "Cut it Out" You still have time to enter though. Click HERE for all the details.
I know this was a long post. And if you've made it this far, thanks for bearing with me.
There is one more thing though...if you haven't already, you will want to check out what the following Bloom Brigaders have to share. They are always an inspiration!!
Also, we will be previewing the newest Power Poppy images starting June 3. You won't want to miss seeing these charming sets. Marcella outdoes herself every time!!

Oh, Tosh, this is a masterpiece of art for your den! It's gorgeous, and I love how you've repurposed this fabulous door (how precious that your DH helped with it)! Your images are stunning and beautifully colored and fussy cut, and that's the wonderful part of digital images is having them any size! Stunning and gorgeous artwork for your home! Hugs!
This is fabulous, Tosh!! Way to recycle and make a beautiful addition to your home. Trust all is well in your neck of the woods ((hugs))!
Amazing I say love your work.
Wow this is just stunning and what a fabulous idea.
AWESOME! ! Love your repurposed door and your beautiful art. Even at such a large size, those flowers and your coloring are stunning. I have never been much for non card stamping, but I always seem to be dropping my jaw over your creations. Thanks for sharing. nise
Tosha!!!! What a MASTERPIECE!! I can only imagine how magnificent this looks hanging in your den!! Your colored flowers are delish with all your marvelous shading, and stitching around the distressed background before mounting.
God bless your DH, for all his "special help" with drilling the holes - YES, I KNOW oak is HARD! - and adding those adorable glass door knobs and the hangers for the back! What a stroke of genius to mount each flower panel on clear glass so they seem to float in the frame!
You must be very proud of how this project turned out!! I LOVE IT!!
A-MA-ZING!!!! I've always wanted to do something like this, but you actually did it, and on a grand, fabulous scale! Wow, Tosh! Utterly fantastic! What a gorgeous piece of home decor. Love that you distressed the door panel. So fabulous!
