Power Poppy May Release: Tulips

http://powerpoppy.com/products/tulips/
Woo-Hoo!!  Today the Bloombrigade is sharing Power Poppy Tulips!  I LOVE tulips and have fond memories of them in our backyard while growing up: a huge variety of colors, shapes and styles.  Maybe it's my Dutch heritage coming through.  I actually get to go to a Tulip Festival in Iowa in a few weeks.  I'm meeting up with 4 of my college roommates for our 25th reunion.  YIKES!!  It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since I've graduated.  And just a little tidbit...it actually snowed the day before our graduation.  In May!  CRAZY!!  It seems especially odd now that I live in California and haven't seen it snow for quite some time.

Once again, the Tulip image is colored with Copics.  I cut the Tulips out and mounted them on an embossed panel.  I also diecut the sentiment and used some Spun Sugar (Distress Ink) to ink up the center and make it pop.  There's a little lace tucked in behind it too with some sparkly twine and a little Rhinestone Heart (Kaisercraft).

That about sums up today's project.  Next, head on over to see what the rest of the Bloom Brigade has to share, if you haven't already visited.

Here's a list of the Copics I used:  RV13, RV10, RV02, YG67, YG17, YG13, YG11

That's it for me today.  Stop by tomorrow for a fun blog hop which includes an uber talented guest.  And remember, during the whole month of May, we'll not only share ideas on how to use these beauties, but we'll also give those who purchase them extra ways to win some Power Poppy goodies! Each Friday during May, we'll usher in challenges designed around our new and beautiful digi images! We can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Stamping!

Waltzingmouse Stamps May Release Preview ~ Day 1

For my Power Poppy post, click HERE.

Hello Waltzingmouse friends!!  I have some super fun themed goodies to share with you the next few days and I can't wait for you to see what Claire has up her sleeve for this month.  We have new stamps and dies to show you and, being a die-aholic, this is a dream release for me.  Today we're just sharing the new stamp set though, called Tag Collection 1.  And it has the perfect sentiments for whatever gift or tag you need it to attach to.

I made a sweet little bag using my We R Memory Keepers Gift Bag Punch Board, and attached this darling little sentiment using the Spellbinders die Medallion 2.   The sentiment was colored with Copics, cut out and mounted onto the tag with dimensional tape.  See the little hearts where the handle is attached to?  Just a sneak peek of one little part of the dies being previewed in the next couple of days.  I finished the little tag off with a charming tassel, and voila...a perfect little gift for Mother's Day, or any friend you have an occasion to share with.

My next two cards use two sentiments from the Tags Collection 1 set.  I decided to make a clean and simple card using some primary colors and dry embossing to give it a masculine look.  But I wanted to try a monochromatic or Ombre style too.  Thus, this next card.

Here's a list of the gals hopping along today with inspirational samples you just have to see:

That's it from me today.

Heads up:  Stop by the Waltzingmouse Team Talk Blog.  I shared some sweet little CAS tags there a few hours ago.  I made them for a Breast Cancer Research Fund Raiser.   Don't forget to stop by tomorrow.  I have a fun Holiday card to share with you.
Happy Stamping my friends!

Power Poppy May Release: Peonies

http://powerpoppy.com/products/peonies/
Are you ready for some more Power Poppy inspiration?  Today, the Peonies are available for purchase in the digital format.  And boy, oh boy, are these ever fun to color and oh so beautiful!!  And remember, during the whole month of May, we'll not only share ideas on how to use these beauties, but we'll also give those who purchase them extra ways to win some Power Poppy goodies! Each Friday during May, we'll usher in challenges designed around our new and beautiful digi images!  Be sure to stop by the Power Poppy Blog too, for some insight into Marcy's inspiration for the Peonies image.

I don't know if I've ever seen turquoise peonies.  But that's one of my favorite colors and I thought it would be a fun color to use on these images.  Once again, I used Copics and added a touch of sparkle with my Quickie Glue Pen and Clear Rock Candy Glitter by Ranger.  I resized the sentiment to fit on a little flag banner underneath the curved border, added some sparkle to a little heart and adhered it to little flags with a mini-paper clip.

Now that about sums up my card for today.  Now head on over to the other Bloom Brigade Blogs if you haven't already done that.  Here's a list of those hopping along today:

Power Poppy May Release: Gladioli

http://powerpoppy.com/products/gladioli/
It's Day 2 for the Power Poppy May Release and we get to share what we created with the new Gladioli image!  This one was a new one for me.  I've never colored Gladioli, and I almost never use purple.  So, I thought..."Why not?  Let's go for it."

Once again, these digital images are available for purchase today.  Right this minute.  I'd aslo like to remind you that during the whole month of May, we'll not only share ideas on how to use these beauties, but we'll also give those who purchase them extra ways to win some Power Poppy goodies! Each Friday during May, we'll usher in challenges designed around our new and beautiful digi images! So head on over to Power Poppy to check them out.

I colored the Gladioli with Copics again and added the sentiment as a tag.  I printed it right on the dp.  Sweet!

Here's a close-up of the tag.  You can print the sentiment as large or small as you want.  I wanted mine to fit in this little Holiday Tag die (Spellbinders), so I made it about 1 1/2" x 1".

That's it for me today, but, if you haven't checked out what the rest of the Bloom Brigade has created, you are missing out!!  Here's a list of those hopping today:

Here's a list of the Copics I used:  V09, V06, V05, VO1, RV23, YG67, YG17, YG13, YG11

Power Poppy May Release: Gerbera Daisy

Hello my stamping friends!!  I'm so excited to finally be able to share what I've been working on lately.  Marcella has designed the most beautiful flowers for this release, and the great news is....they're digital files.  That means instant gratification.  You can order the images and have them right away....today!!

At Power Poppy, we want to give in to your inner voice that craves instant gratification! This May release will be all digital -- meaning you can download, print and use the images as soon as they land in your "in" box! Are you ready for some incredible fun? During the whole month of May, we'll not only share ideas on how to use these beauties, but we'll also give those who purchase them extra ways to win some Power Poppy goodies! Each Friday during May, we'll usher in challenges designed around our new and beautiful digi images! We can't wait to see what you create!

Today, we're featuring the Gerbera Daisies, and they are exquisite!!  They happen to be one of my absolute favorite flowers, and they come in such a beautiful variety and combination of colors.

Now, if any of you are like me, digi files are overwhelmingly scary and intimidating.  But there will be some tutorials on how to work with these files and believe me, once you see how it's done....it's super easy.  I just downloaded the file to my computer, saved it in my Power Poppy file and inserted it into Word.  You then can resize the image to whatever you decide.  That was liberating for me.  I could make my image fit in the frame I wanted.  SO COOL!!  I colored the Gerbera Daisies with Copics then added a bit of highlighting to the center with a white Sharpie pen.

Now, if you haven't already visited the rest of the design team blogs, you will want to do that.  These girls are super creative and have mad coloring skills!!  Check them out:

Here's a list of the Copics I used:
YR09, YR04, YR02, YG67, YG17, YG13, T6, T4, T2

That's it for me today.  Be sure to head on over to the Power Poppy store and get your Gerbera Daisies now!!  They're only going to be offered for a limited time, and they are GORGEOUS!!

              Happy Stamping!

Refresh CAS challenge

I had some time to play in Splitcoaststampers' CAS challenge today.  We were challenged to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) Fionna51.  She has a gallery filled with charming CAS cards.  I chose to case her Masculine Sympathy card.  I changed my framing with diecuts, and inked the background with Pumice Stone Ranger Distress Ink.  I then stamped feathers, from Power Poppy's Marcella's Mixtape stamp set, in Smokey Gray Versafine ink along with White ink by Gina K. designs.  The "Hit Refresh" sentiment is from Power Poppy's Good Thinking: Renewal set.  Lastly, I inked over the feathers with White Pigment ink to soften them up a bit.  Easy-Peasy.

Here's a close-up so you can see the feather detail.

That's it for today.  I hope I've inspired you to try some new challenges.

Hit Refresh...

I had some fun participating in some more Splitcoaststampers challenges again this week.  I combined 3 this week:  Try a new technique ~ Embedding, Clean and Simple ~ Dry Embossing, and Color Combination ~ Blue Saffron Sand

I colored one of Power Poppy's new images from the Springtime Love set to fit the color challenge.  Isn't it just charming?  For the embedded shape, I framed it with a diecut rectangle with a scalloped border and embedded it in an embossed base to meet the dry embossing requirement for the CAS challenge.  Lastly, I added a couple of sweet little diecut hearts that I inked with Antique Linen and Tumbled Glass Ranger Distress Ink.  The little tag was diecut using Framed Tags One from Spellbinders, and the sentiments are from the Power Poppy set called Good Thinking: Renewal.

It all was fairly easy.  The only part that took any time was the coloring.  I tend to use a lot of Copics...*grin*

Copics: Y38, Y35, Y23, Y21, BG15, BG13, BG11, BG02, BG0000, YG99, YG95, YG93, YG91, YG67, YG63, YG03, YG21, E34, E33, E31, EOO

Thanks for dropping by.
Be sure to check out the SCS challenges.  They're super inspiring!
Happy Stamping my friends!!

3-Tier-Slider Gift Card

Oh my!!  Did I have a blast today!  It's been a lonnnnnnng time since I've made a card just for the fun of it.  I'm usually working with deadlines and new releases.  But I decided today I wanted to play along in a Splitcoaststampers challenge.  Now the last time I did that was....well....so long that I can't even remember.  While looking at this week's challenges, I knew right away I wanted to try the Three-Tier-Slider-Card technique challenge, and then thought, why not add as many as I could.  I mean..why not go "All In"!!  So, I also used this week's Color, Sketch and Ways to Use it challenges.

I have a niece graduating from High School this year and thought it would be fun to combine the Three-Tier-Slider card with a Gift Card inside.  Waltzingmouse Stamps came out with the sweetest Gift Card It dies and coordinating Gift Card It stamp set.  Where it says 2014 (I used the Victorian Alphabet for the numbers).  I'll add the gift card later...it didn't match the colors. (grin)  For the top tier sentiment, tag and the front, I used sentiments and flowers from the Gift Card It stamp set.

Now, the Ways to use it Challenge:  WT473,  requires you to use something you've had in your stash for over a month and haven't touched yet.  Well, I've had Sizzix's Primitive Star dies in my stash for probably well over 6 months, and haven't touched them once.  I know...what a shame, eh?  Now they've been officially broken in.

I colored the flowers, on the center panel, with Copics and ran my Anique Linen Mini-distress ink pad over them so they weren't so bright and fit the color scheme of the card.  Lastly, I added some enamel dots (Teresa Collins), as well as a Crystal dot to the navy Twine (Olive Manna).

Oh, and I can't forget to mention that this super fun dp is pb&j by Basicgrey.

Here are the Copics I used:

Here's the color scheme: CC472

 Here's the sketch:  SC482

Wow, that was a lot of info.  I hope you get an opportunity to try one, or all of these challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.  It really gets the creative juices flowing!

Happy Stamping!

PowerPoppy is in Full Bloom!!

http://powerpoppy.com/collections/all

I can hardly believe it.  PowerPoppy stamp sets are available for sale!!  I just know you all are going to love these sets as much as I do.  Marcella has a special way of capturing even the minutest of details and adding that little extra to all her images and sets.  We have 4 sets for PowerPoppy's debut!!

But first, here's a card I made using Azaleas and Good Thoughts: Renewal

I have a small collection of pencil sketches and charcoal art, which inspired me to do a monochromatic card using the gray scale.  I stamped the Azalea images with with Gray Flannel Memento Ink and colored them with Copics T0-T4.  I added white stamens (although I wish I had made them a darker gray) using a White Sharpie, and added a bit of sparkle with some Crystal Rock Candy glitter (Ranger).  The sentiment is from the Good Thoughts: Renewal set.  And see that little azalea on the left?  That's in the set too...sweet!!  The background was created with a Doily Stencil (Tim Holtz), and I added another doily and Punched Border (EK Success).  Lastly I added a handmade crocheted flower along with some twine and silver cording.

That's it for me.  If you haven't visited the rest of the DT's blogs, you'll want to do that right now.  These gals are just full of inspiring ideas.

Tosha Leyendekker --- you are here

I hope you've enjoyed my previews this week.  I had a fabulous time creating with the new PowerPoppy stamps and I hope you will too!
