Meet the Bloom Brigade

With a little bit of the story of Power Poppy unveiled yesterday, today we get to share some of the "faces" that will help bring Power Poppy to full bloom! We affectionately call this fabulous and fierce team "The Bloom Brigade" because as you'll soon see - each one has a wild an beautiful facet that they bring with them to this very creative team! Want to learn a little more about this wildly talented force of artistic talent? Marcella asked each of us a question and many of them made us say... "Hmmmm...." Just click HERE to see for yourself!

Q. What is your personal theme song?

A.
--> My personal theme song…this is a hard one for me.  I feel we all have different sides, to our personalities, and character, that could be represented by a song.  So I decided to settle for one that’s near and dear to my heart.  It not only represents how I want to face each day, but also a time in my life where I started to “be me” at the age of 26.

That song is “Give Thanks” by Don Moen

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us"

I continually “give thanks”, because God has blessed me beyond measure.  My Faith, my family, and my friends, are what I consider my greatest blessings, but I’m also grateful for the gift of artistry, which led me to stamping so many years ago, and, in turn, to a treasure of friends across this great world He has created for us to enjoy.

“Give Thanks” was also the song my mom wanted played over and over while she was in the hospital during her last days of suffering with ovarian cancer in 1994.  Back then we had cassettes, and even when she couldn’t speak anymore she would signal for it to be played again.  That meant rewinding and rewinding.  (grin)   And, because of her example, I am reminded to “Give Thanks” in all situations:  joys and sorrows, because she did right up to the time God took her home.

I can’t tell you how thankful and excited I am, to be a part of this new company called Power Poppy.  I believe, in the vision Marcy has for it, and in all the women who are a part of this journey.

I will leave you with one more song that I just recently heard: “Beautiful”, by Mali Music.   If you get a chance, I would encourage a listen.  I LOVE the lyrics, and the tune is catchy too.

If you haven't already visited the rest of the Bloom Brigade, here are the links to their blogs.  These wonderfully dynamic women all have different "sides" to their lives! See what makes their creativity click! Learn a little more as you hop on over and see.....

Try the song ALONE YET NOT ALONE. You can google it for both the words and the audio. It is the title song to a movie coming out this summer. My theme song is MY BEST FRIEND by Sheri and Jeff Easter. My best friend is my husband of 46 years.

Tosh, you have a beautiful spirit, and your story about your mom hit home for me. When my mom lingered in the last month of her life I played music for her over and over. She loved classical music and instilled that love in me, as well. This is going to be a lovely trip with you, I do believe. It's been enlightening reading all these answers and it seems the questions were thoughtfully put to each of us.

Aww this made me cry. What a wonderful memory you have at such a sad time in your life. I love it when music can transport me to a special place and make me feel warm and comforted. She left you with a special way to remember her. I am so excited to share this stamping journey with so many christian women. That really means a lot to me. Your work is awesome and this is going to be so much fun.

Oh my gosh Tosh, reading this post just underscores your beautiful heart. You brought tears to my eyes just reading about your labor of love -- rewinding and rewinding -- for your mom. I feel so very blessed to call you friend and.... "I put my lighter in the air for you!" Love you girl!
