A sketch Challenge with Basicgrey, and Mardis Gras

I finally got my SCS sketch challenge card finished. Whew! I just got the New GORGEOUS "French Flea Market" from the Bella Bella line, by My Mind's Eye, from Stamper's Dream. They are stunning!! And this gorgeous bird cage and bird are from the Basicgrey clear set called Porcelain Aviary. Talk about beautifully exquisite bird cages!!

The bird cage was stamped with Black Onyx (Versafine) directly onto the MME dp, and was embossed with Detail Clear ep.

The bird was rock and rolled with Aged Mahogany and Walnut Stain (Ranger Distress ink) and stamped onto Neenah Natural White cs. I aged all the papers by ink distressing with Old Paper (Ranger Distress). The flower was made with Martha Stewart and CarlaCraft punches. The leaves, border punch, and tiny flowers on the Velvet Ribbon (Making Memories), are also by Martha Stewart. And the Rectangle shape and scallops were achieved with the use of my Rectangle Nestabilities (Spellbinders). Finally, the pearls are Pewter and Bliss (Kaisercraft).

Supplies:
Stamps - Porcelain Aviary (Basicgrey)
Paper - "French Flea Market" Bella Bella (My Mind's Eye), Cream (Prismatics)
Ink - Black Onyx (Versafine), Aged Mahogany, Walnut Stain and Old Paper (Ranger Distress Ink)
Accessories - Circle and Rectangle Nestabilties (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug, Flower Leaf, and Border Punches (Martha Stewart), Flower Center Punch (CarlaCraft), Velvet Ribbon (Making Memories), Pewter and Bliss Pearls (Kaisecraft), Sewing Machine, Dimensional Tape, Clear Detailed ep (JudiKins)

That about sums this card up, now for a completely polar opposite:

Mardis Gras is celebrated the whole month of February...well, so I hear. *grin* I've only ever lived in the midwest and California, so I'm not very familiar with that tradition. Well, I would imagine there are a variety of parties being planned in celebration of this tradition, so I made a Mardi Gras party invitation with this cool Blossom Mask (Judikins) that Michelle has at Stamper's Dream. I colored with with copics and mounted it onto Metallic Champagne cs (Prism), that I scored with my Scor-pal. I then added Pewter and White Opal Liquid Pearls to it. The background piece was punched with a Martha Stewart punch. I just took a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square, started in the middle of each side and worked my way out. It lined up perfectly.

I made the sentiment with my Harmony Rectangular Set and the Trompe Script Font by JustRite. I tell ya, these are a staple of mine. You can write whatever sentiment you want and there are three sizes to write them in.

The Clear Rhinestones are stickers by Kaisercraft, and the dots on the mask have glitter on them that I attached with my Quickie Glue Pen.

Supplies:
Stamps - Blossom Mask (Judikins), and JustRite
Paper - Blush Red Dark, Black (Prism), Brushed Silver (Stampin' UP!), Neenah Natural White
Ink - Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Accessories - Copics, Cuttlebug, Oval Punches (Stampin' UP!), Clear Rhinestones (Kaisercraft), Scor-Pal, Pewter and White Opal (Liquid Pearls), Fibers, Border Punch (Martha Stewart), Dimensional Tape

That's it for today. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you're having a fabulous week and that it keeps getting better.
Happy Stamping!
Tosh
