Loving Tulips ~ Power Poppy Release Previews

Hello creative friends!  Have you been enjoying all the Power Poppy Previews?  Isn't Marcy incredibly talented?  I swear, she knows just what 's needed to add to our ever (delightfully) growing stamp collections!!  Today Power Poppy is once again featuring two new stamp sets:  Loving Tulips and Sweet Memories

I fell in love with this dotted "hello" the minute I saw it!  I have another fun idea I'll be sharing next week with it too.  So many ideas!!  I started by stamping the "hello" sentiment onto vellum cardstock (PTI) with Black Onyx Versafine.  I like that ink because it stamps really clean onto all surfaces.  However, you HAVE TO WAIT until it dries!!  And it takes awhile on the vellum because it can't soak into the paper.

  

I backed the circle with the same dp that I framed it with and diecut it using the Scallop Circle die by Pretty Pink Posh.  The sweet little Scallop Border was also diecut using a Pretty Pink Posh die.

Lastly, I added the darling sentiment and a charming little punched daisy to finish it off.

No coloring today peeps.  Just stamps and ink.

Succulent Singles ~ Power Poppy March Release

Hello friends!!  It's day 2 of our Power Poppy Peeks for this month's release, and we're featuring 2 new sets:  Succulent Singles and Burst of Kindness.  Both are gorgeous and have the most beautiful images and sweet sentiments!!

I chose to feature one of the Succulent Singles today on a CAS (Clean and Simple) card today.  While perusing Pinterest looking for some succulent inspiration, I ran across this photo which inspired my hot pink succulent  I thought the color was unique and fun; perfect for the "celebrating you" sentiment.

I colored the image with Copics and let it be the focal point with a CAS design.

Natural Beauties

Hello, hello, hello!!!  I am so excited!!!  Power Poppy's Spring Release is just about here and we (the Bloom Brigade) get to inspire with a little taste of what's to come!!  Once again, Marcy has created the most cheerful, beautiful, charming and creative sets that one could imagine.  Seriously!!  And we're starting with a beautiful "garden" set called Natural Beauties.  No one can draw stamp images like Marce!!  The details are exquisite and oh, so sweet!!  I chose the larger image, but there are a few sweet smaller images too.  This is one "happy" set!!

My card is super CAS.  I just stamped the image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto X-Press It cardstock, colored it with Copics, and framed it with a darling Scallop Frame (Pretty Pink Posh).

And I have some really exciting news to share with you too...Power Poppy will have coordinating dies with this set, as well as as a few of some of the New Releases.  And....they will be available for Pre-Order on March 14...Power Poppy's Release day!!  Woo-Hoo!!

For my card today, I used a new Power Poppy Digital image called Vintage Easter Egg.  I went quite literal, and colored the image with a vintage color palette in mind using muted colors.  I also ink distressed around the circle, using Antique Linen (Ranger Distress Ink) to age it up a bit.

 

A few diecuts were used too.  The background panel was cut using Avery Elle's Double Pierced Rectangle Die.  The Stitched circle is from Couture Cuts, and the Scalloped Die is from Spellbinders.  I added some seam binding ribbon and some sweet sequins by Pretty Pink Posh too, as well as a felt heart that I diecut using Primitive Hearts by Sizzix.  The decorative paper is from Pion Design.

Graceful Still Life ~ Power Poppy

 

Happy Friday!!  I don't know about you, but I am so ready for the weekend!!  Life has been crazy!!  
But first, I'd like to share today's card with you right now.  I just adore this little digital vignette, called Graceful Still Life, that Marcella released on the 15th of this month.  Isn't it just super charming!!  I love how she combined the Roses and Dogwoods with little extras like the sweet hat and charming stack of books.  And don't you just love that darling little pitcher as the vase?

I did a bit of editing in Photoshop to get the sentiment along the bottom.  It's a much larger sentiment, and I only wanted to include the last little line on the front of my card.  So I cropped out all the rest and added it underneath the image.

Everything is colored with Copics, and the frame was diecut using Spellbinders' Labels 47 Decorative Elements die.  I randomly covered it with Versamark ink, and added some Shabby White Embossing Enamel to vintage it up a bit.  I also antiqued it up a bit by ink distressing inside the frame, while it was still inside the die, using Ranger's Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I'm showing a close-up so you can see the Embossing enamel a bit better.  It has some gold and glitter in it, so the shimmer in real life is striking.  If you click on the photo, it shows even a bit more.

Pansy: No line Coloring ~ Power Poppy

Hello, Hello, Hello!!  I realize it's not Friday, so this post is probably a bit unexpected, but  today is the release date for a new Power Poppy digital image called Pansies.  

Pansies are near and dear to my heart.  My mother's favorite flower was the Pansy, and mine is the Sunflower.  I moved over 2000 miles away when I got married over 27 years ago, so our time together was always very precious.  First thing in the morning, I would get out "our" mugs and we would share a cup of coffee together.  She had her Pansy mug, and I had my Sunflower mug.  These mugs must be at least 25+ years old because she's been gone over 22 years now.  But I still have them, and they are treasured as well as the memories!  

Power Poppy has a new challenge for the month too, hosted by our dear, and oh-so-talented Bloom Brigader, Cindy Lawrence.  She is challenging us to use the No line coloring technique.  
 
This card was a challenge for me because this was the very first time I tried the "No line coloring" technique by myself.  (I took some Copic classes where it was taught, but that is quite different from going out on your own...)  It was a challenge, and I have a very long ways to go, but I am happy that I actually tried it.

I printed the image in a light gray and colored it with Copics.  I also used some pointillism in the background, as well as a burnishing technique for the flowers to give them some extra depth and texture.  I posted a "Burnishing" tutorial on the Power Poppy blog a couple of years ago, that you can find it HERE.

Simply Camellias ~ Power Poppy

Hello creative friends!!  Does Friday seem to sneak up on you sometimes?  I am so lost in my days this week.  It probably has something to do with getting home on Tues. after attending some new Copic Classes and Creativation this past week.  One day melds into the next, and it's hard to keep track.

Well, since it is actually Friday, I have a Power Poppy card to share with you today using one of my favorite sets called Simply Camellias.  I can hardly believe I've never colored this Camellia in a bowl, so I was excited to give it a try.  It's all done with Copics, and the decorative paper is all from Pion.

I used a Viva la Verve Sketch from Aug. 2016 so this card came together pretty quickly...for me anyway.

Sweet Pea Show ~ Power Poppy

Hello, hello, hello!!!  Friday has arrived!!!  And that means it's time to share some fabulous Power Poppy creations.  And today...be still my heart!!  Marcella has designed an absolutely delightful Sweet Pea image that has stolen my heart!!  I needed four cards for four very special ladies this weekend, so I decided to print this new digital Power Poppy image, called Sweet Pea Show, four times in two different sizes and diecut different pieces of it.

Now, my color combination has no rhyme or reason to it, and I'm sorry for that.  I decided to color the images, and then I chose the papers that best coordinated with my coloring.  So, they aren't cohesive.  The sentiments were all embossed and are from two different Power Poppy Clear sets:  Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips and Simply Camellias.

 

I punched a butterfly for this one and colored it with the same Copics as the flowers.  The center of the butterfly was made using Ebony Black Gloss Crystal drops with a bit of black glitter sprinkled over it while wet.

 

I added different Nuvo Crystal drops in various patterns and colors to each card.

 

For the "You're Simply Sweet" card, I also clear embossed the entire diecut piece to coordinate with the embossed dp I used from Kaisercraft.

A Paperwhite Birthday ~ Power Poppy

 

Hello creative peeps!!  This is my very first card for 2017, and it's for a new Power Poppy Power and Spark Challenge issued by our very dear, sweet and talented Bloomie...Stacy!  She is challenging us to use Winter Flowers for our projects this month, so I chose the gorgeous Paperwhites from the Power Poppy set Glistening Paperwhites. 

Here are the deets for January's Power and Spark Challenge:  
"When winter comes, many of us long to say goodbye to the chill and say hello to those cheerful and fresh spring flowers! Did you know there are lots of blooms that sprout at the end of winter (you can cheat and include early spring as well)? How about camellias, crocus, paperwhites, holly, snowdrops, or poinsettias? I'm really into plum tones lately.  I don't know why, but I'm drawn to them.  So I decided to color the berries plum, and went with a "sagey" green background and base.  The image is colored with Copics, and the sentiments are from the Power Poppy set Go Wild.

I added some clear Wink of Stella to all the blooms for a bit of sparkle.  If you click on the images, you can see the details more clearly.

I also used one of my old Martha Stewart tag dies to add a sweet little sentiment to my bow.

And lastly, I used papers from the Pion design collection called Christmas in Norway.  I love their soft vintagey colors!
