Go Wild ~ Power Poppy June Preview

Hello stamping peeps!!  Welcome back to another day of Power Poppy Previews!!  Have you been "ooohing" and "ahhhhhing" over all the new images?  And what about Marcy's Blog Posts giving you a peek into her delightful creative inspirations and creations?  She has such a lovely way of "painting" a picture of her life and creativity with words.

Speaking of the wonderfully creative Marcella....it just happens to be her birthday today!!  And I just wanted to take a moment to wish her the HAPPIEST of days!!  She has such a gift of spreading joy, smiles, laughter and love to everyone, that I feel she deserves all that and more today.  I am in complete awe of her, not only as an artist, but as a person.  She is the epitome of inspiration...in life, and art.

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Marce!!!

http://powerpoppy.com/
Now, a bit about today's project.  I wanted to step out of my box a bit and do a watercolor background instead of coloring with Copics or Pencils.  So, I took some 140 lb. Cold Pressed Bee Paper, which is 100% Cotton Watercolor paper, and spritzed it pretty thoroughly with water.  I then added three Ranger Distress Spray Stains:  Peakcock Feathers, Crushed Olive and Spiced Marmalade.  After adding the 3 colors, I spritzed more water onto it and let the colors run together, and blotted off the excess with a paper towel.

After drying the paper with my heat tool, I embossed the Power Poppy image, from the Go Wild set, with black, diecut it with a Classic Square die (Spellbinders) matted it with some Black cardstock (PTI), and popped it up with dimensional tape.  The middle panel was diecut with A2 Matting Basics A.

Lastly, I added the fun sentiment "The time is ripe to celebrate you!" at the bottom.  I feel it's a perfect sentiment to celebrate Marcy since she is prolific gardener and artist.

Now, my friends, if you haven't already, check out what the rest of the Bloom Brigade has to share.

Thanks for popping in.  I hope you've been a bit inspired!
   Happy Stamping!

Sage Advice ~ Power Poppy June Previews

http://powerpoppy.com/products/sage-adviceIt's time to showcase another fabulous and charming Power Poppy set.  Today we're featuring a set called Sage Advice.  I love this sweet colander with herbs inside.  What a clever idea for a gift.  I am a "turquoise" addict.  I have to make myself "step" away from it sometimes.  Not today though.  I wanted a turquoise colander, so that's what I did.  I went really CAS on this card.  I just colored the image with Copics, diecut it with a Classic Rectangle die (Spellbinders), and layered it on a white base.

I did, however, add some images to the inside too though; something I rarely do.  Probably because I'm just too plain lazy.  *grin*

I stamped the vertical border image with Tuxedo Black (Memento), and again, colored it and the sentiment with copics.

That sums up today's simple project for me.
Now, you won't want to miss what the rest of the gals have to share.  Because believe me...they're going to blow your socks off!!

Re-purposed Window Paned Door with Power Poppy

I am so excited to share today's project with you.  I've been working on it for a little while now.  We just finished some remodeling in our house and one of the rooms was our den where we had a built in entertainment center removed.  It had four window paned doors, and my friend Bernie suggested I keep them and re-purpose them.  Genius!!  So, we took one of the doors, removed the handle and filled in the holes.  It was already green (yes I paint oak and am not ashamed to admit it), so we just added some Graphite and White Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and sanded it to distress it a bit.

Now, I wanted some clear space behind my colored images, so I went to the local glass store and had them create a back panel of glass to hold everything in place.  My dear husband added the Picture Frame Turn Buttons, because man, oak is hard to drill into.  He also added the sweet little glass door knobs I got at Hobby Lobby as well as the brackets on the back to hang this heavy baby up.

So, now about the Power Poppy images.  I decided to use all digital images because I could make them as large as I want.  Each image is approximately 5"x7", and is colored with Copics.  I listed the Copics I used at the bottom of this post.

I usedthe following Power Poppy digital images:  Peonies, French Lilac, Tulips, Gerbera Daisies, and Camellias (Power Poppy Digital)  I took a picture of each panel outside of the windowed frame because the glare would make it hard to see all of Marcella's beautiful details.  For the background, I just scored the cardstock, distressed it, and added some stitching around the borders.

Here's a close-up look at each panel:

Power Poppy Foxgloves

Hello my creative friends!!  Every 15th of the month, Power Poppy releases some new delicious digi images and the Instant Gardner Team showcases them.  Well, this month, the 15th lands on a Friday so members of the Bloom Brigade are joining in.  I am so excited to share this image with y'all today.  I adore bees, and Marcy has included three darling plump bumblebees with this new Bees in Foxglove digital image.  Aren't they just A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E?!?!?!?!

I colored the Bees in Foxglove image with Copics, in a vintage style, thinking it would be a nice contrast to have lavender colored blooms with the yellow/black bumblebees.  The coordinating Foxglove sentiment was printed onto Vellum (PTI).  I colored the background with a mixture of grays and skin tones, although it's hard to see in the photo.  Irl it looks really aged and vintage.

That about sums up my project for today.  Check out what these gals have to share and be prepared to have your minds blown because they all have serious skills!!

Waltzingmouse May Pajama Party

Howdy everyone!!  It's PJ time over at the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog, and we have 4 awesome inspirational challenges for you!  I used two of the challenges as inspiration:  Man of the Moment and Old Pajamas, which is the set Man of the Hour.

I used one sketch and one technique to make 4 different cards.
For all the cards, I just colored directly onto an acrylic block (Acrylic Stamping) with Tombow markers, misted the block with different amounts of spraying for each pattern, and stamped it onto White Cardstock (PTI).  After they dried, I stamped sentiments from the WMS set Man of the Hour onto them.

For the background above, I misted the block quite heavily to get the colors to blend.

That's it for today's projects.  I hope you join in on the fun.  There is a prize to be won, so head on over to the Waltzingmouse Blog for all the details.

And, that's not all.  I have some very exciting Waltzingmouse news to share.  You can now purchase Waltzingmouse Stamps and dies at Addicted to Rubber stamps.  In fact, the set I used today is available there.  Also, they are having a saleUse the code 'WELCOME' (on the shopping cart page) to receive 10% off the site. Anything that is already on sale will not have additional 10%.

Thanks for stopping by!

  Happy Stamping!

Life is better with friends...

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2015/04/its-pop-of-pastel-challenge.html
Hello friends!!  I have a CAS Power Poppy card to share with you today for this month's Power and Spark Challenge to use Pastels.  I was inspired by Leslie's stunning card HERE where she enlarged a portion of a digital image.  So I took the Gerbera Daisies digital image and enlarged the flower on the right and left half of it off the card.  I then colored it with a few Copics and added the sentiment from the digital Camellias set.

That's it.  Nice and easy

Now, for some more inspiration, check out what these Bloom Brigaders have to share:
Copics:   YG05, YG11, YG01, Y00, C2, BG02, BG01, BG0000

Flowering Branches ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/flowering-branches
Hello friends!!  Prepare yourself for some gushing today.  Marcella has done it again!  That girl has no limits to her creativity!!  Her ideas are always fun, beautiful and inspirational, and this month's digital release is no different.  Aren't these Flowering Branches gorgeous?  She even included a few crabapples along with the blooms!!  Charming!

I just colored the image with Copics after arranging the digital image in Word and printing it onto X-press It Blending cardstock.  I then adhered it to a diecut frame and a folded piece of burgandy Core'dinations cardstock.  Oh, and I added a few little pearls (Pizzazz Aplenty) too.

That's it for my project today.  Now, if you would like some more inspiration, check out these Bloombrigaders' Blogs:

Waltzingmouse Pajama Party

http://waltzingmouse.blogspot.com/
We're having a Waltzingmouse Pajama Party, and there are 4 fantastic inspirational challenges to get your creative juices flowing!  Check out the Waltzingmouse Blog for all the details on how you can participate.

I think today's card fits under two challenge categories:  Shower with Gifts and Gift Card it.
I put my tag on the card instead of leaving it separate, and used a variety of stamp sets along with the Stitched Tag die (Waltzingmouse): Little Darlings Images, Little Darlings Sentiments, Pinstripe and Zig Zag Backgrounders

I added the sweet little sentiment along the top to finish it off.  It's a horizontal sentiment from the Little Darlings Images set.  I just used some Ink Isolation (Tutorial) to put the words on top of each other.

I made my second card for the Bedtime Story sketch challenge and Old Pajamas using the nestie Very Vintage Labels No. 25.  I included images from two other WMS sets too:  You're Lovely and Big Day Additions for the sentiment.

Everything was stamped with Silvery Shimmer Delicata and embossed with Silver ep (Ranger).  The banner was made with tassels that I diecut using Banner Basics 2 (Spellbinders).

That about sums up today's projects.  Thank you so much for stopping by.

   Happy Stamping!
