Fall is my absolute favorite season. (Wish it would hurry up and get here...gonna be in the 100's today....*sigh*) I love the colors, the fresh, crisp air, and just the all around cozy feeling it seems to bring with it. Since Thanksgiving arrives during the Fall season, I thought the sentiment "God richly gives us everything to enjoy" 1 Timothy 6:17, from the
Scriptures Series 2 set, would be a perfect testament to my Thankfulness: from the season, to my family, to my freedom to paper craft.
Before I get into the make up of this card, I have to tell you where my inspiration came from. You see, I have this dear friend, named
Pat Smethers (Blooms in a Box), who makes frameable paper art! Truly, her cards should all be framed!! She lives a short drive away, and we are blessed to get together about once a month. Well, I frequently get blessed with these works of art (more than I deserve), and I'm constantly admiring the depth. I use dimensional tape on my cards at times too, but hers have just a slightly higher raise to them. I mentioned it the last time I received one of her treasures and she promptly mailed me the tape she uses. So I used a variety of dies to highlight this sentiment in her honor because this card is going to her when I get to see her in a couple of weeks.
Here's the card that inspired mine. It sits in my kitchen window to remind me of my blessings!!
The decorative border, along the Labels 28 frame, is from the edges of one of the smaller rectangles in the Resplendent Rectangles die set by Spellbinders), and the leaves were all ink distressed using Ranger Distress Inks.
That's it for my project today. I'll post a list of all the dies and inks I used at the bottom of this post. Thank you so much for visiting. I'm honored!!
Next up on the hop is the sweet and oh so talented
Betty!!
