Flourishes December Release Preview ~ Day 1

NumbersInBlossomGraphicHello Flourishes friends! Welcome to our December Sneak Peeks! Once again we’re proud to begin our New Release Sneak Peeks to you, they have a wonderful theme of “blossoming". Today’s set joins a gorgeous family of sets and many of you have been looking for it to complete the collection. Introducing Numbers in Blossom.

Part of the special Flourishes Blossoms Collection, numbers never looked so pretty! This 4 by 6" set features hand-drawn numerals, by Marcella Hawley, that have been embellished with beautiful florals. This set offers a one-of-a-kind way to create gorgeous correspondence, birthday or anniversary items, or even home decor. This set is the perfect companion to sister sets Happily Ever After, Letters in Blossom and Summer Blossoms. Blossoming inspiration is yours along the way today with our talented design team and this set.

I decorated a Christmas tree with a vintage theme this year, and thought it would be fun to add a House Luminary with the number "25" on it for Christmas.  So, after putting together my little house ornament (which is from a kit designed by Cathe Holden from this years Spellbound Event that I attended in November), I added the "fussy cut" numbers.  I started by stamping them, with Gray Flannel Memento ink, onto Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock, and colored them with two Copic Collection sets:  Lenten Rose and Olive Green.  I then added some sparkle with Silver German Glass Glitter to the numbers and Prisma Glitter to the flowers.  I made the flower on the front by gathering some sparkly ribbon and adding a rhinestone to the center.  That about sums up my project for today.

eta:  I was asked to show a complete picture of my Victorian tree.  It's actually 3 different sized trees put together in an antique milk crate.  I didn't light it up so the ornaments, flowers, and lace would be more visible.  All in all, it's about 4ft tall.  Some of the ornaments are antique, some are handmade, and others are newer.

Thank you so much for dropping by!
Happy Stamping!!

Waltzingmouse Release Blog Waltz

Waltzingmouse Release Day has finally arrived!!  You can now order the sets that we've been sharing in the hops this week.   As usual, you have a chance to win a stamp set of your choice during the Waltz.  All you have to do is leave comments on each blog by Dec. 3rd at 11:59 pm (GMT),  Dec. 4th 6:59 EST, after which, a random commenter will be drawn.

First, you might want to start at Claire's Blog.  She will have a list of all the hoppers.  After that, I'm first up!

So, now for a little more enabling. I mean inspiration.  ;)

I've made two similar ornament tags using 2 ornament images from the Ornate Ornaments set.  They coordinate with the Spellbinders dies as follows:  2012 Heirloom Ornaments and 2010 Heirloom Ornaments

They're both embossed with Silver Embossing Powder and include a sentiment from the set.  I also added some Crystal Glitter with my Quickie Glue Pen, and a few matching embellishments.  They are backed by other dies that I will list in my supplies.

That's it for my projects for today.  Next up on the hop is the super sweet and talented Clare.

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!

You can't catch me!!!

I think gingerbread men are just super adorable, and I have a SIL who collects them. So when I saw Claire's sweet Gingerbread sets, I knew I had to own them!! The set I used is called Half Baked Gingerbread Joy (Waltzingmouse Stamps), and it's like playing paperdolls stamper style. You can dress these guys in different outfits, and even make gingerbread girls. So, so cute!! Since my SIL has four boys, I made 4 little magnets too, dressing each a different way. But I'll get to that in a bit.

It's the 20th, and that means it's time for another DD/DDA Challenge over on Splitcoaststampers. Here are the requirements set up by sweety, Kim Teasdale:

The Challenge: Create a project for any holiday of your choice - even obscure ones

Required Element: Your ornament must hang from something or have a loop of ribbon so that it can hang (ie: from a christmas tree, door, etc)

Restricted Element: None

Keyword: DCHOHO1109 (Dirty Challenge Hanging Out the Holidays with Ornaments 11 09...with a slight Christmas infusion! lol - HOHO...get it? )

I made my ornament with largest Spellbinders' Labels 6 Nestabilities die. There are 3 of them just folded in half and attached together with that darling little gingerbread guy in the center. I glued two of him back to back, so the ornament looks the same when it spins. I used the image that looks like a sheet portion to the bed for a banner at the top, and added the year by hand. Check out the ornaments Claire made with the Season of Love tags!! How CUTE!! That's where I got the idea to fold the Labels 6 shape.

I stamped this little guy with Brushed Corduroy (Ranger Distress) onto Kraft cs (Prism). His vest was stamped with Cranberry (Adirondack Dye Ink), and the rest of the pieces were stamped with Walnut Stain (Ranger Distress). I then colored in the ric-rac with my White gel Souffle pen. The button is PTI, and he's hanging with Ivory Burlap String.

Click HERE to see this months DD/DDA gallery of ornaments. We'd love it if you added some of your stamped ornaments. Remember to include the keyword: DCHOHO1109
so we can find it.

Now for the magnets:
Aren't these little guys fun?!?!? They're stamped the same as my ornament guy, but I added Glossy Accents to them. Honestly, if I had time to do them all over, I would just add a coat of Clear embossing powder to them instead. I knew better too. The glossy accents made the color run a bit. But I do like the sturdiness of them. I cut each of them out and adhered them to some balsa wood. It cuts like butter and gives the shape support. I got the thinnest you can get at Michaels. Then I just added some magnets to the back. So easy.

That's it for today.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
