Feeling Fall ~ Make it Move with Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
Happy Friday y'all!!!  Are you ready for the weekend?  I know I am looking forward to it!  I'm also excited to share today's Power Poppy project with ya!  Since it's the first Friday of a new month, there is a new Power and Spark Challenge hosted by are own, dear Ally.  She has challenged us to make it move.  Well, I took on that challenge, and it was exactly that...A CHALLENGE!!  I decided I wanted to make a double slider with a shaker main body.  Okay...that was a bit ambitious.  First of all, I've never even made a slider, let alone a double one.  And then add a shaker on the front?  YIKES!!  This baby took some time.  And, I have to admit...it doesn't slide perfectly.  I took the instructions a bit too far.  They warned not to make the plastic band inside too tight...so...of course, I made it too loose.  DOH!!!  But I'm happy with the look of it...even if it doesn't function perfectly.  I know better for next time right?

I used two Power Poppy stamp sets for this project Feeling Fall and Nice Things to Say  (oh...and I should mention, the shaker part is actually a card and opens up so you can write on the inside of it.)  Here's a link to the tutorial I used to make this:  DarleneDesign.com)

Below you can see it with the slide outs.  They are actually supposed to slide out further, but, after gluing everything together, I must have had a malfunction.  Since it's assembled, there is no way for me to figure out what happened.  But, you can still see the sentiments (mostly), so mission accomplished.

I colored the image with Copics, and aged everything with with Antique Linen Ranger Distress Ink to vintage it up a bit.  I have a few mini velvet pumpkin and these two little guys remind me of them.  Aren't they sweet?

CopicsMug ~ E97, E95, E93, Y17, E81 Gourd ~ BG96, BG93, BG90, E84 Top Pumpkin ~ E44, E43, E42, E40, E84  Bottom Pumpkin ~ E87, E84, E81 Stems and Shadows ~ T6, T4, T2, T0 Berries ~ YR27, Y17

So Grateful ~ Power Poppy

Hello, hello, hello!!  I'm back again with another Power Poppy creation.   For today's card,  I hauled out a Fall set, from last year, called So Grateful.  I just love the chair with the pumpkin arrangement on it, and thought it would be fun to color the chair red.  I added some grass with my Copics, as well as a sky, and also a sweet little tag with just the word "grateful" from the sentiment "so grateful".

That's it.  Easy peasy.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend.  We're finally looking at some 70 degree weather after lingering in the 90's lately.  I'm ready for Fall's arrival, that's for sure!!

Happy Stamping!!

Happy Fall Box

The week is almost over!! I know I'm looking forward to this weekend because I get to spend it visiting my son who's away at college!! :)

Since it's Thursday, it's time for a CCEE Stampers Challenge, and this week we were to make something with a Fall theme. I needed a couple of boxes for a little gift that I'm giving to a couple of stamping friends of mine this week. I haven't seen them in a year, so I'm very excited. I used a new Verve set that Julee has just put in her store called Boo to You. Isn't that pumpkin just the sweetest? I added a sentiment from the Happy Fall set too.

I thought it would be fun to combine the Sweet Scallop and the Tiny Sweet Scallop dies, and added a little Martha Stewart Punched leaf, along with a few Kaisercraft Rhinestones, some Burlap string and a sweet little button. The border was made with an EK Success Border Punch.

That's it for today. Be sure to check out what Fall Inspiration the CCEE Stampers have to share today.

Thanks for stopping by!!
Happy Stamping my friends!!

Cam's Vase

Is it Monday already? Good grief time flies. Since it's Monday, that means it's time for me to upload this weeks CCEE challenge. Carolyn King (Cammie on SCS) sent us all her new Whimsical Autumn set and our challenge this week was to use some of those images to make a Fall themed card. I chose to use the vase and the stemmed leaves (they're stamped with Brushed Corduroy on the green plaid)

I used Beate's sketch that she had on Friday. This is the first time I've used a sketch other than SCS's. It was fun. I think I'll try it again soon.

I stamped the vase with Tuxedo Black (Memento, and colored the vase and stems with copics. The leaves were colored with my souffle pens (coral and white) All the edges were ink distressed with Frayed Burlap and Walnut (Ranger Distress Ink) and I finished off the card with some tan twill and Candy Dots (I' Kan-dee).

Cam's Pumpkin

I made this card for two reasons. First, my friend Carolyn King (Cammie on SCS) designed a stamp set called Whimsical Autumn. It's darling, and 100% of Cam's proceeds are going toward Alzheimer's Research.

Cam is also going to honor Alzheimer Care takers on Sept. 21 (National Alzheimer's Day). Check out her blog HERE for more details. She'll be having over $600 in blog candy available. There are so many generous people out there, it just warms my heart to overflowing!!

I was inspired by todays SCS Inspirational Challenge, to use these colors and swirls and leaves. Click HERE, then on the word file below the explanation of the challenge. I'm technologically challenged, so I'm not sure how to link this any better. I'm so sorry.

I stamped the Pumpkin image, from the Whimsical Autumn set, with Tuxedo Black (Memento) and colored it with my copics. The leaves on the bg are Kaisercraft Elegance Rub ons. The brads in the corners are Crushed Velvet brads (Doodlebug) with Kaisercraft Bronze Rhinestones in the centers. All my framing was cut with my cuttlebug and Nestabilities.

Supplies:
Stamps - Whimsical Autumn (Carolyn King designs with Gina K)
Paper - Papaya Puree Dark, Tawny Medium, Black (Prismatics), Neenah Natural White,
Night Light Jack's Stripes (My Mind's Eye)
Accessories - Copics, Cuttlebug, Nestabilities, Rhinestone stickers (Kaisercraft), Quickie Glue Pen, Ultrafine crystal glitter, Oval punches (SU), scotch dimensional tape
