Tulips In Hobnail Pitcher ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/tulips-in-hobnail-pitcher/
It's Friday!!  Woo-Hoo!!  I am so looking forward to this weekend!!  And......I am so excited to share the card I made using Power Poppy's newest digital image called Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher.  Isn't it gorgeous?  The tulips are so beautifully detailed (typical Marcy style... ;), and that pitcher!!  I tell ya, the minute I had access to this beautiful image, I got right to coloring it.

Can I make a confession?  Okay...here goes....Before designing for Power Poppy, I was totally intimidated by digital images!!  Overwhelmed even.  But now... I LOVE them.  I can make them absolutely ANY...SIZE...I...WANT!!!  How cool is that.  This time around, I knew I wanted to frame them with a circle, so I chose my dies first and printed the image out in the size that fit perfectly inside my circles!!  So cool!!!

I colored the tulips, with Copics, in a variety of colors, because lets face it...more color = greater Spring feeling!!  Am I right?

Copics ~ TulipsPink ~ RV17, RV14, RV13, RV10 Orange ~ YR09, YR04, YR01 Peach ~ YR02, YR01, YR000 Yellow ~ Y17, Y13, Y11 Vase ~ BG49, BG57, BG13, BG11 Leaves ~ YG67, YG17, YG13, YG11, FYG1 Shadow ~ N4, N3, N1, N0

That sums up my project for today.  Be sure to check out the following Bloom Brigade Blogs for some more weekend inspiration!!

But wait...Speaking of Spring, we took our Rhino (off-road vehicle) up to the foothills yesterday to check on our heifers (which are brought up there to graze for the winter).

Below is what we see when we first drive up.  After years of drought, it's nice to see all the green!

I just love this rustic barn with the lush green hills in the background.  This is where we unloaded our vehicle.

Just one of the many incredible views!!  I love the lonely barn in the middle of the valley!

Okay...I don't know why, but I just LOVE thistles.  My husband thinks I'm a bit "off-my-rocker" because they are a horrible weed.  But their color is so brilliant, and I love all the spikes around the bloom and their leaves are super cool!

Yellow flowers can be seen growing in the crevices of the rocks scattered throughout the hills.  I have no idea what they are, but I love them!!

The gang after our trip...minus me of course.  Someone has to be "behind" the camera.  It was a nice day trip with my husband's brother, his wife and three of their 4 boys.

I hope you enjoy a fantastic weekend.

    Happy Stamping!

  1. Oh, sweet Tosh, this is gorgeous, and I agree - I LOVE digis and the freedom to resize and do lots of other things with them. I so love the beautiful colors of your tulips and love the pretty country pitcher! And your layout is gorgeous with such an elegant feel to it. The double-stitched circles with the picot circle are stunning together, and I love the vertical DP with the luscious ribbon and button. The gems just finish it off perfectly! Yum! And what fun you all had riding out to check on your heifers and seeing some of the beauty God has created. Yes, it's wonderful to see green, for sure. And I also LOVE thistle, which is the national flower of Scotland (where my father was born). And It really is pretty with the flowers and the spikes. How amazing that the flowers grow in the crevices of the rock. Shows us that we as people can survive in the hardest of times - with Him. So glad you had a wonderful day with family, and I know you are having some fun with some fun friends tomorrow! Hugs to you all! xoxo

  3. Just HAD to see the wonderful card you made of the digi tulips in the pitcher - love how you can create exactly what you want with digis, and this turned out gorgeous! Thanks for telling us about your trip up to the foothills, and the great pictures you shared - a cool reminder for me of my trip out to CA years ago (yes, YEARS!) Love that picture of the thistle and the yellow flowers growing in the rock's crevices - the scenery is gorgeous there - especially that old barn - love it!!

  4. I know what you mean about being intimidated, but it is cool to be able to change the size as you need it. Your coloring is so beautiful and such a great job on the pitcher, the knobs looks so real as if you could feel them!! Beautiful card! Love you peaceful pics of the rolling hills and cattle. The old barn is beautiful and I love thistles too, that brilliant purple and feathery thistle may be a pesky weed but is still beautiful L:)

  9. Okay, well, first of all, your tulips are GORGEOUS! Love all those pretty colors and so life like. I'm kinda crazy about digis, myself, these days, and Marcy has the BEST digis! Now, I have to say thank you for taking us on a fabulous trip around your property. Such magnificent views! I'm so glad your drought is over. We had a good, rainy winter, too, and I'm so thankful for that.
