Waltzingmouse July Release ~ Day 3

Have you been enjoying the Waltzingmouse Sneak Peeks? I am so in love with all of these sets. Claire has really outdone herself. If that's possible. Today I'm peeking two sets: You're Lovely, which has a beautiful gown, a couture dress form, and accessories as well as some wonderful sentiments. The second set I've included on this card is Flourishes~Scallops~ dots which has gorgeous flourishes in a variety of sizes....*sigh*...be still my heart.

Now, for my card, I started by stamping the gown, with Versamark, onto some Gabrielle Collection (BoBunny) dp, and Vellum and embossing them with white ep. I then added the dotted bustier image to the vellum piece. After that I added some Viva Decor Opaq White dots with glitter. I wanted to add some design to the lower half of the gown, so I embossed it with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing folder. (hint: Do this before attaching dress. I decided to do this after I was finished, so I stamped the dress onto vellum again and repeated the embossing and cut off the bottom half.) The dress and sentiment are mounted onto a Layer I made by diecutting some dp with the Labels 4 die by Spellbinders.

The panel trio in the background consists of three layers: White cs, then the Gabrielle Collection dp, and another layer of vellum with the Flourishes embossed in White. I also embossed the sentiment directly onto the dp and cut it out freehand.

Lastly, I added some Seam Binding Ribbon, a button, some silver cording, and some I-Roc Rhinestones. I used a Tim Holtz Mini Heart diecut for the heart and added some Melissa Frances Glass Glitter to it.

eta: To get the glass glitter to stick to the heart without some flaking off, I just put a square of cs, large enough for the heart, onto some Scor-Tape (double stick tape) and diecut it together. I then just peel off the one layer, sprinkle on the Glass Glitter and burnish it with my fingertip. Now, even if I rub it with my fingers, nothing flakes off.

Whew...that was a lot of details to include for just one card. Hope you were able to bear with me. Now, I was the last member of the hop. I hope you've enjoyed all the inspiration. Tomorrow's the release, and there are prizes to be had, so be sure to stop by again.

Since it's Thursday, it's also time for a CCEE Stamper's Challenge, and Frances is challenging everyone to use electronic cutters if you have them. I don't own one, so I just used my trusty Cuttlebug to cut out my Labels 4 and heart die. Be sure to check out what the other gals have come up with over at the CCEE Stamper's Blog.

Now, here's the WMS hop list in case you've missed some along the way:

Waltzingmouse July Release ~ Day 2

It's day two of the Waltzingmouse Stamps Sneak Peeks, and the design team is focusing on the two sets: Big Day Additions and Big Day Essentials. They're perfect for wedding announcements, invitations, and cards as well as Anniversaries. I combined the Anniversary sentiment with sweet little silhouettes from the Cameo to go set. I loved the darling children silhouettes.

One of my most precious treasures that is a direct result of my marriage, is my children. So I thought these images would go beautifully with the anniversary sentiment. In August, we will have been married 22 years, and our oldest will be 21 soon after. So 21 years of our marriage we will have had kids around. Until that same month, however. Our youngest is heading off to college. So we will be charting new waters as empty nesters.

This is it for me today. If you haven't seen all the other examples designed by the WMS dt, be sure to visit their blogs. They are truly inspirational.

Happy Stamping!!

Waltzingmouse July Release ~ Day 1

Hello fellow stampers!! I'm so excited to be sharing some projects this week made with the newest Waltzingmouse Images. Today the design team is sharing images from 3 different sets: Ovals ~ Classic Frames, Cameo Creations, and Cameo to go. Today I have three projects to share with you using the Cameo to go set. I made a card using the Cameo Creations set also, but I used a set that I can't peek until tomorrow, so you'll have to check back then. :)

One of the reasons I'm so excited about this release, is because I love silhouettes. In fact I have a small collection. (I posted a picture of some of the framed art at the bottom of this post.) My mother started collecting them many years ago, and after she passed, I inherited her collection, and continued to add to it over the years. Most of my collection consists of silhouettes with dried milkweed and flowers in the background, that were made in the late 1930's, and are quite hard to find now.

Well, now that you know one of my passions, here are the 3 projects I promised. For the box, I used a template that I borrowed from my dear and uber talented friend Pat Smethers. The stick pin was a gift from her as well. I made the cameo with Sculpey Clay by stamping the image with Tumbled Glass Ranger Distress Ink directly into the clay and baking it. now this is my very first time working with the clay, so don't look too closely. :) But I love how the image is raised because this stamp has a negative silhouette image..

For this card, I stamped the frame and the silhouette image with Versamark onto black cs and embossed them with white ep. The Spellbinders window frame is covered with Ultrafine transparent glitter. I wish you could see it irl. I have the hardest time getting that stuff to show in photos. I also scored three stripes before the punched border.

My second card was made for the Teapot Tuesday challenge hosted by Cindy Motherway over at Splitcoaststampers. We were to include numbers on this card. I thought Roman Numerals would be fun. The sentiment as well as the leafy border are from Cameo Creations.

Lastly, here is a sampling of my silhouette collection.

Well, I'm the last stop on the hop, so if you started here, you'll want to head on over to Anya's blog and start at the beginning. Otherwise, I hope you've enjoyed the little Waltzingmouse sneak peek of what's to be released on July 1.

Here's the complete hop list. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Viva la Verve June Week 4 ~ Spread Your Wings

I made this card using Teresa's fantastic Viva la Verve Sketch for Week 4. Love it! I even stepped out of my box a bit and used some fun bright papers from Echo Park's "A walk in the Park line". I used the fun Verve set Beautiful Kindness. I just love the flourishy butterfly with the sentiment "Spread your wings and fly".

I stamped the flourish onto the orange dp with Versamark, and embossed it with Iridescent Ice by Stampin' Up! If you click on the photo, you'll be able to see the sparkle better.

See the little white medallion? I made that using Viva Decor Opaq White Gel and a Silicon mold that I purchased HERE. Too fun. I've made some silver, red, dark gray, and more, so be prepared to see them on some projects in the future.

That's it for today ya'll. Have a fantastic weekend.
Happy Stamping!

It's just not the same...

Apparently, it's National Pink Day today. So Frances has challenged everyone to include pink on their card over at the CCEE Stampers Blog.

My card is kind of dark today. I guess it kind of suits the sentiment? I think I should have refrained from sponging the inside of the oval and left it all white. Oh well. Like I said, it fits the mood of the sentiment, which is from the Verve set Always on my mind. I used the Mojo Monday sketch #196 as my starting point, and added the Out of Print Basicgrey dp, some I-Roc crystals, a couple of staples, and some sewing. Pretty straight forward.

Thanks for stopping by. Stop by tomorrow for a complete opposite card. You might want to wear sunglasses when viewing though. *grin*

Happy stamping my friends!!

Teapot Tuesday: Buttons

I've long been an admirer of Cindy Motherway: This is my story (aka: Mothermark on Splitcoast Stampers). Not only is she a highly skilled and creative paper crafter, but she has an even more amazing heart for others in need of encouragement. Each week she hosts a "Teapot Tuesday" challenge, in which she has a unique teapot as an inspiration, as well as a destination for the project made. This week, crafters are challenged to make a circle card. Here's the challenge in her words:

Bring round cards (Dodge Balls, silly!) And embellish them designer style! No worries about embellishment lawsuits, we will be long gone to our next teaparty before the papers are served! Whoot!

Sandy Vadas is a nurse and works in the Cath Lab. She was married in April of 1991 and in Dec.1991 her husband was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s. They were told they would be unable to have children but Sandy had 2 boys . Between 1992 and 2007, Sandy’s husband had been in and out of remission a number of times, became blind, had a stem cell transplant, had 2 heart attacks and 10 stents. In 2007 he passed away leaving Sandy and the 2 boys.

Sandy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, had a bilateral mastectomy and went into remission 06/09 until now. The cancer returned this year in February and she is now receiving Chemo every week. She continues to work full time and loves helping people no matter what the issue! Every year since her husband’s death she has had a fundraiser called Dodge for the Cure. This is a Dodge Ball tournament to help raise money for the Oncology floor at the hospital because she wants to give back to the community.

Here's the card I made for Sandy:

I stamped Waltzingmouse images, from the Dainty Doilies Large and Say it Loud sets, with Versamark, and embossed them with white. I added a matching button based on the teapot Cindy used as an inspiration, added some silver cording, some Viva Decor Transparent Gloss gel and glitter. I also vertically scored the white panel, although it's very hard to see in the photo.

Please check out Cindy's Blog: This is my story, for more details, and the fabulously creative story she wrote to coincide with the inspirational teapot.

Thanks so much for dropping by. Be sure to stop in tomorrow too. I have a card that I'm really excited to share with ya'll!!

Happy stamping my friends!!

A CASE of Friendship

My daughter and I had a fun afternoon of stamping today. You see, over at Splitcoaststampers, for the Free For All challenge today, Dawn is challenging stampers to a...CASE of Friendship. Now, throughout the years, I have made some super fabulous friends at SCS, and I treasure them dearly. So to choose one to CASE over another would be impossible. However, my daughter and I just happen to be going out to lunch tomorrow with one of my dear, dear friends Pat Smethers, so we decided it would be fun to each choose a card of hers to CASE. I made the first card based on Pat's card found HERE. Pat's gallery just oozes warmth because she stamps from the heart, and shares that heart whenever, and wherever she can. She's a real treasure!!

I LOVED the large sentiment that Pat used against the square dp, and the texture and border of the backgrounds really caught my eye. For my card, I used all Waltzingmouse images creating my own background with the sets Dainty Doilies Large, Say it Loud and Text It. Everything was stamped with Versamark, with the sentiment being embossed with Black and the Doilies and Text with white. I then used the Resist technique and sponged Spun Sugar Ranger Distress Ink over the embossed images. The border was made with All Around Martha Stewart Punches, and I added some Seam Binding ribbon, a button, silver cording and I-Roc Rhinestones.

My daughter, Nichole, took a totally different approach and used darker colors. She knows Pat adores brown, so she purposely chose MME Twinkle, Twinkle Little Boy dp and CASEd the card found HERE. She also used the Dainty Doilies Large set along with the sentiment from Teeny Trees.

She also included the sewing, and added some buttons and silver cording with a rhinestone based on Pat's sweet card.

So that's it ya'll. Hope you're having a fabulous weekend.
Thanks so much for dropping by!
Happy Stamping!
Tosh

Bring Your Own Sunshine!!

I made today's card for two Challenges. For the CCEE Stamper's Challenge, Frances has us including kites on our Card. Be sure to stop by to see what other kites are flying today.

The second challenge is the "Get Your Diva On" challenge by Verve. If you'd like to be a guest Verve Diva, this is definitely a challenge you will want to participate in. This month's challenge is a theme:
Bring on the Summer, Sunshine, and Blue Skies
!

What does this mean? Well, the interpretation is up to you!! Whether you are inspired by the colors of summer, the feeling of sunshine, or prefer to incorporate some blue sky into your project...you are only limited by your imagination! When you upload your creation, make sure to tell us how you were inspired! You have until June 19th, 9:00 pm Mountain time to enter HERE. You can find out the rest of the entry details there too.

One of my all time favorite Verve images is this sweet little Notebook page from the set Blue Skies. I left some space at the top so I can personalize it with a handwritten name when I send it.

Now, for the rest of the card. I used a large variety of Verve sets to make this card today. I had so much fun mixing and matching images and papers to create the Summer scene I had in my head. Here's a list of the Verve sets:

Notebook Paper: Blue Skies
Notebook Sentiment: Feel the Sun
Kites: To the Moon
Sun and lower sentiment: Let it Shine
Clouds: Up, Up and Away

The paper is mostly Capella by Basicgrey. However, I stamped the sun onto some scrap Webster's Pages dp.

The scallops were made with the MFT large scallop die, and the border punch was made with an EK Success punch. I also added some Sugar Sparkle Fluff, by Our Craft Lounge, to the clouds, and a touch of glitter to the sun. (If you click on the photos, you can see the details better.)

That's it for today ya'll. Thank you so very much for stopping by. I truly appreciate each and every visit. I hope you all are having a fabulous week!!

Happy Stamping!

The Stamper's Dream Design Team is hopping with some blog friends today, and I'm honored to be amongst those hopping. What an inspirational line-up!! You won't want to miss a stop I assure you. Not only that, Michelle's offering some fabulous blog candy. (I've included a photo at the bottom of the post, along with the hop line-up.)

Lately I've been using softer colors for my cards, so I decided to show my darker side with this card. *grin* I love anything Tim Holtz, and haven't used anything of his for awhile. So I got out my newest papers of his Paper Stash Crowded Attic!! I love the deep rich colors and fabulously fun patterns. For my image, I chose the JustRite set Friendship Blooms. Even my little flower was made with an image from that set and the Spellbinders Blossom 3 die. The little dragonfly charm is from Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Metal Charms.

Viva la Verve June Week 2

Andrea has provided a fabulous sketch in the Viva la Verve Forum this week. I haven't used an oval in quite a long time. So, I thought it would be fun to frame a sentiment with the Lacey Oval die from Spellbinders. I stamped the sentiment and flower, from the set One Person, with Onxy Black Versafine, onto Vintage Cream cs. I then cut the oval shape with the Standard Oval die (Spellbinders). For the frame, I just laid out the Lacy Oval with a smaller Standard Oval inside, diecut and embossed it. I then added some Graphite Viva Decor Gel dots around the inside and the loop intersections.

The flower was colored lightly with the T2 Toner Gray Copic and I added some Silver Spica gel to the black portions, and some silver glitter and a rhinestone to the center. To finish it off, I added some pink Zva Creative Rhinestones, a Martha Stewart punched border, and a bit of sewing.

Now, be sure to check out the Viva la Verve Forum. The divas have some fantastic sketches for ya this month.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Happy Stamping!!

Copics with Balsa Wood

Hello everyone!! I have a CCEE Stampers card to share with you today. Frances has challenged us to make a card with a sports theme since baseball was invented on June 12, 1839. The card can represent any sport, so I chose surfing.

First off, I was inspired by this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #194. I stamped the surf board images, from the Verve set Relax, with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Balsa Wood and colored them with my Copics. I found they actually blended pretty well too.

The palm trees were also colored with Copics and cut out, and the sun sentiment medallion was sponged with Wild Honey. The dp is Sunshine Broadcast by Sassafras.

That's it from me today. Now be sure to check out what sports the other gals are representing over at the CCEE Stampers Blog.

Happy Stamping!!

Waltzingmouse's June Soap ~ Day 4

For the past 3 days, the Design Team has shared projects with you from Waltzingmouse Stamps’ latest release, but we also love our older Waltzingmouse sets. So today we're sharing projects we made using Free Spirit Boy.

I love the sweet little race cars, and thought it would be fun to make little checkered racing flags with the smallest gingham image from the Gingham & Co. set. The sentiment is from the set Vintage Banners.

For my second card, I used the little circles from the Free Spirit Boy set, and a sentiment combo from the Say it Loud set. I also popped up a few of the circles to give some dimension.

Now it’s time for you to get your craftiness on as we invite you to participate in a CASE (Copy and Share Everything) competition. Find a card or project from any of the projects posted over the past few days by the WMS Design Team, CASE that project using Waltzingmouse Stamp images, and link it using the Inlinkz on Claire’s blog. At the end of the competition, one project will be randomly selected to be highlighted with a Parade of its own on several of the Design Team blogs. We hope you will enjoy this competition and that it will inspire your creativity. You have one week to complete and link your project as the competition will close June 10th at 8:00 AM Claire’s time, which is 3 AM Eastern, 2 AM Central and Midnight, Pacific time. The winner will be announced on Claire’s blog.

(Click on the photo to see the details better)

It's Day three of the Waltzingmouse SOAP Hop, and I have a CAS card to share with you. All I did was emboss the main panel with the Sizzix Wreath Embossing Folder, and added a sentiment combo from the Waltzingmouse Join Us Set. I LOVE this set because it has such a wonderful variety of Thank you, and Join Us sentiment combo possibilities!!

I made the flower with Plaid Ruffled ribbon by May Arts, and added some Vellum Foliage diecut (Spellbinders) leaves, and two little I-Roc Rhinestones.

That's it.

Waltzingmouse's June Soap ~ Day 2

It's day two of Waltzingmouse's June SOAP (Stamp of Approval Parade) Hop, and I have a vintage creation to share with you. I used quite a few different WMS sets on this baby: Dainty Doilies Large, Bitty Banners, Very Vintage Labels 4, and Blessed by you. The Doily was stamped onto Vellum with Versamark, heat embossed with White ep, and diecut with Spellbinders' Big Scallop circle Die.

Since it's also Thursday, I have a CCEE Stamper's card to share with you. It's Dairy month, so Frances has challenged us to make a card with a cow on it. Now being as we're dairy farmers, you'd think I'd own a cow stamp. Nope! Nada!! Not a one!! How sad is that right?

Soooooooo, I decided to use a photo I took of one of our Red Angus beef cattle instead, (I know, I know...it isn't a dairy cow....shoot, it's even a bull, but Frances just said to include a "cow"...*grin), with a WMS Sentiment from the set Say it Loud. The "happy" is separate. I just decided to stamp it vertically. Be sure to check out the CCEE Stamper's Blog to see what the other gals have done with cows. :)

Well, I hope you've enjoyed the parade. Thanks so much for visiting. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for another WMS card.

Waltzingmouse's June Soap ~ Day 1

June is a WMS SOAP (Stamp of Approval Parade) month, so the Waltzingmouse DT will be having a parade of samples they created with the images from last month's release for the next 3 days, along with featuring a previously released set on the 4th day. I chose to make a Flap Trifold baby card using a Splitcoaststamper's Tutorial by Rose Ann Reynolds found HERE. I stamped the half doily image, from the WMS set Dainty Doilies 2 Small, with Versamark onto some pink cs, embossed it with White ep, and diecut it with Spellbinders' Petite Circle Scallops. The "baby" sentiment is from the Say it Loud set and is also embossed with White ep directly onto Sparkling Spring Prima dp. I added a little tag, (the sentiment is also from Say it Loud) that I made with Verve's Charming Banner die, with some white ribbon, silver cording and a sweet little button. When it's folded, it measures 3 1/2" x 4".

That's it for my card for today.
I'm the end of the hop. I've included a list of all those participating today just in case you missed one.
