Teapot Tuesday: Buttons

I've long been an admirer of Cindy Motherway: This is my story (aka: Mothermark on Splitcoast Stampers). Not only is she a highly skilled and creative paper crafter, but she has an even more amazing heart for others in need of encouragement. Each week she hosts a "Teapot Tuesday" challenge, in which she has a unique teapot as an inspiration, as well as a destination for the project made. This week, crafters are challenged to make a circle card. Here's the challenge in her words:

Bring round cards (Dodge Balls, silly!) And embellish them designer style! No worries about embellishment lawsuits, we will be long gone to our next teaparty before the papers are served! Whoot!

Sandy Vadas is a nurse and works in the Cath Lab. She was married in April of 1991 and in Dec.1991 her husband was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s. They were told they would be unable to have children but Sandy had 2 boys . Between 1992 and 2007, Sandy’s husband had been in and out of remission a number of times, became blind, had a stem cell transplant, had 2 heart attacks and 10 stents. In 2007 he passed away leaving Sandy and the 2 boys.

Sandy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, had a bilateral mastectomy and went into remission 06/09 until now. The cancer returned this year in February and she is now receiving Chemo every week. She continues to work full time and loves helping people no matter what the issue! Every year since her husband’s death she has had a fundraiser called Dodge for the Cure. This is a Dodge Ball tournament to help raise money for the Oncology floor at the hospital because she wants to give back to the community.

Here's the card I made for Sandy:

I stamped Waltzingmouse images, from the Dainty Doilies Large and Say it Loud sets, with Versamark, and embossed them with white. I added a matching button based on the teapot Cindy used as an inspiration, added some silver cording, some Viva Decor Transparent Gloss gel and glitter. I also vertically scored the white panel, although it's very hard to see in the photo.

Please check out Cindy's Blog: This is my story, for more details, and the fabulously creative story she wrote to coincide with the inspirational teapot.

Thanks so much for dropping by. Be sure to stop in tomorrow too. I have a card that I'm really excited to share with ya'll!!

Happy stamping my friends!!
Tosh
