A Western Winter

Howdy!! It's time for another CCEE challenge that I do each Monday with a small group of friends. Cindy Haffner came up with our challenges for this month. Today we were to make a blue card with brads. (She was very easy on us since this is such a busy month. Thanks Cindy...you're a dear)

I made this card for a special young man who just turned 10 on Friday (okay...so I'm a bit late...but what boy doesn't like a birthday drawn out? *grin*)

Anyway, this is quite the mish-mash of stamps and inks. The bg was created by leaving the Kraft cardstock in the Labels I diecut and sponging the inside with Craft White (SU) and Petal Point blues. I then stamped the trees (Lovely as a Tree - SU) with Tuxedo Black (Memento), the left Wanted (SU) horse with Sepia (Versafine), and the right one again with Tuxedo Black after masking the first one. Now I realize the horses shouldn't be lined up the way they are. It's not aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The brown one was supposed to be higher, but I rushed it and didn't use my positioner. Arghh!! Since this was my 4th attempt at a bg, I'm just leaving it as is. I know...the horror. After stamping all the images, I heat set the pigment inks with my heat tool, and added some snow with my Inkssentials White Opaque Pen.

The blue bg panel was dry embossed with the Forest Panel (Cuttlebug). I then blanket stitched along the edges with my sewing machine.

I created the sentiment with my JustRite Harmony Rectangular Stamper set, and the 25 pt Brayton Font letters and symbols.

The circle star is from the charming Papertrey set called Background Basics Stars.

A Whiff of Joy after Thanksgiving

I hope all my American friends had a Happy Thanksgiving yesterday. I know I did!! I'd have to say it was one of the best ever. My son was home from college and it was such a fun relaxing day.

Well, my husband has been building a new shop, and he and my son decided it needed a basketball hoop inside. So there was a quick trip to Walmart and then the assembly. That gave me some time to make a card while father and son had some bonding time...no complaints from me...*grin*

The minute I saw this sweet Whiff of Joy Snowman called Herb with Teacup, I was in love!! I adore snowmen, and I loved the sweet swirls and his charming outfit!! Of course I had to have him. I stamped him onto Champagne Metallic (Prism) with Tuxedo Black (Memento) and colored him with my copics. I originally had planned to have the sentiment medallion on the outside, but my daughter told me it was too much. So, since I've long admired Denise's (The Paper Landscaper) style of decorating the inside of her cards too, I thought now was the time to give that a try. The sentiment is from the set: Winter Love

The circle and rectangle were cut with my Nestabilities diecuts, and I added a Stampin' Up snowflake, ribbon, dew drops, and stickles. The bottom border was punched with a Martha Stewart border punch.

Supplies:
Stamps - Whiff of Joy
Paper - Festive Frost (My Mind's Eye) Mystic Medium and Suede Brown Dark, Champagne Metallic (Prism)
Ink - Tuxedo Black (Memento), Walnut Stain (Ranger)
Accessories - Ribbon, Snowflake (SU), Dew Drops, Martha Stewart Punch, Corner Tag Punch, Double Circle punch (SU), Frosted Lace, Gunmetal, Christmas Red (Stickles), Copics, Nestabilities, dimensional tape

Thank You!!

I have so many Thank You's to make, I thought I'd get started right away. It helped that I just received some new JustRite images in the mail a couple of days ago...*grin* They're perfect for thank you notes, among many other things too of course. (Can ya tell I love them?)

And, guess what?!?! Stamper's Dream is having a 50% off sale on select images. Click HERE to check them out.

Not only that, SD is offering all it's Holiday stamps at 15% off. Click HERE for this great deal. All you have to do to get this special deal is to enter the coupon code HOLIDAYS when checking out.

I always try to do SCS's Sketch Challenge, and thought I wouldn't be able to this week because my son came home from college last night. For some reason he wanted to sleep in? Hmmmm...could it be because he doesn't have to go to the 5:00 am morning swim practices while home? LOL

Anyway, all I did was stamp this *Thanks* medallion (Harmony Classic Circle Stamper II Stamp Ensemble) twice...once in Old Olive and once in True Thyme (SU), and cut out the *thanks* and mounted it with dimensional tape on top of the True Thyme.

I LOVE this Poolside and Greenhouse paper by Making Memories. The ribbon is also from the Greenhouse collection (MM). The rhinestone crystals are K&Company.

That's it! I hope all my American friends have a happy Thanksgiving. And the rest of you, I hope you are having a blessed week and have much to be thankful for!!

Happy Stamping!!

A Masculine Christmas Tent Topper

Before I get to how this card came about, I wanted to let you know about a fantastic sale!!! Stamper's Dream has many JustRite Images priced at 50% off!! Click HERE to see what you can get for this fantastic price. I'm a huge JustRite fan. They are so very versatile, so be sure to check it out.

Not only that, SD is offering all the Holiday stamps at 15% off. Click HERE for this great deal. All you have to do to get this special deal is to enter the coupon code HOLIDAYS when checking out.

And......Michelle is carrying Sarah Kay images now too!! They are soooooo darling!! And they're a blast to color.

Now for the details about my card. First I chose my DP. I love Basicgrey's Archaic line and thought it would be fun to use it as a Christmas card. So, I chose my colors based on this charming plaid.

I used my Stampin' Up markers to color my Christmas Stamp Ensemble sentiment from JustRite Stampers, and cut it out along with a few mats, with my Circle Nestabilities. To get the ridged edge, I just took the Scalloped Circle diecut and a slightly smaller circle and ran it through the cuttlebug. To be sure you have the right size circle to cut off only a portion of the scallops, you shouldn't be able to see any of the scallop sticking out the outside of the circle.

To finish it off, I added SU's Cranberry Crisp Stitched Ribbon, and punched the horizontal strip with a Martha Stewart Punch. Oh, I almost forgot, I also punche the top edges of my card with Su's corner tag punch.

ETA: I always forget to let people know the sizes of my cards, and they're rarely A2...*grin*
I was kindly asked to let you know in my blog entries. If I forget in the future, please remind me via my email. Today's base is 4" x 4". The circle scallop is the second to largest...I don't know the exact size, but you can make it as large as you want.

I hope you're having a fabulous day!!
Thanks for stopping by!!
Happy Stamping!!

Snowman Mug Pop-Up Gift Card Holder

I loved today's technique challenge so much on SCS, that I had to make another. Click HERE for instructions.

I thought this darling Snowman Mug (Impression Obsession) would be perfect to hold a coffee gift card...you can get hot chocolate too...*grin*

I colored him with my copics, added liquid applique to the marshmallows, and glitter to the cap and scarf. The border was punched with a Martha Stewart border punch and all the edges were ink distressed with Tea Dye and Walnut Stain (Ranger Distress).

That about covers it!! Hope your week is off to a great start!!

Happy Stamping!!
Tosh

Supplies:

Stamps - Impression Obsession
Paper - Melissa Frances, Prismatics, Neenah Natural White Ink - Tuxedo Black (Memento) Accessories - Corner Tag Punch (SU), Martha Stewart border punch, Copics, Liquid Applique, Glitter, Scor-Pal

What was I thinking?

Christmas in orange? Don't go there. I was trying to match the jamba juice gift card. And in person, it's really not that bad...I kind of liked it. Well, until I photographed it and began editing. The bird looks like a crow, and the stickles don't show up as much as irl...so it looks more Halloweenish. Sorry. I loved the idea though, and I won't have time to do this later as I have a ton of errands to do. But I wanted to show you this awesome idea that was used for the SCS Technique Challenge found HERE.

For the front of my gift card holder, I used my new Labels I Nestabilities Diecut!! I LOVE this shape...I'm sure you will see me use it often.

I stamped Nature's Dance (Penny Black) with Tuxedo Black (Memento), onto Frosted Orange (Prismatics) I then sponged Dried Marigold (Ranger Distress) all over the panel, embossed it with the Leaf folder, and rubbed Tea Dye (Ranger) over the leaves. I then added Copper Stickles to the berries. The sentiment is from the Clear Design set Thinking of You Messages. I thought the brackets fit perfectly with the Labels I shape. *grin* The sentiment on the inside is Script Merry Christmas (Northwoods)

Be sure to check out the tutorial on SCS...It's so easy and has so many possibilities!!

Also, Stamper's Dream is have a 15% off sale on all their Christmas stamps. Just type the coupon code HOLIDAYS when checking out!!

Supplies:
Stamps - Penny Black, Hero Arts
Paper - Orange, Black (Prismatics)
Ink - Tuxedo Black (Memento), Dried Marigold and Tea Dye (Ranger Distress)

CCEE Christmas Candles

Happy Monday!! For my weekly challenge with my CCEE friends, we were sent supplies from Charlene (LilLuvsStampin). Here were our instructions:
- We must use red starburst translucent paper - check
- We must use poinsettia green leaves and at least one of three poinsettia flowers - check
- We must use either gold stretch cord or gold ribbon - check
- optional - snowflakes and ornament: didn't include.

I was given this darling Northwoods image by Denise (Peanutbee) - The Paper Landscaper, in an image swap. Thank you sweet Denise!! I colored it with copics. I then diecut and embossed it with my Nestabilites and sponged the edges before removing it from the diecut. I used all Ranger Distress Inks. I covered the top half with Scattered Straw, and the bottom with Tea Dye. I then sponged Tea Dye over 2/3 of the top. To finish it off, I sponged the edges with Walnut Stain. Finally, I added a bit of glitter to the berries and made candle flames.

Thank you so much for stopping by. To see what the other girls have come up with, click HERE.

Remember...Michelle, owner of Stamper's Dream, is having a 15% off sale on all holiday stamps. Just use the coupon code HOLIDAY when checking out.

Stamps - Northwoods
Paper - Brushed Gold, Black, dp

Punched Medallion and a sale!!

Okay...I have something way cool to share with you!! At least I think it is. Taylor (taylored expressions) has the coolest tutorial on her blog to create this medallion in the center of my card. I used a Martha Stewart punch while she used a Stampin' Up one, but the result was the same...a framed medallion. And it's so ultra easy. I tried it with all my horizontal punches. Some require smaller squares than others, but they all have unique shapes and are so fun. Go check out her site by clicking on her blog name mentioned above!!

The center of the medallion is from the 10 Design Centers and borders (JustRite) set. I stamped the circle onto the same dp as the rest of the card with Frayed Burlap, punched out the circl and coated it with crystal lacquer. I then mounted it onto a small scalloped Nestabities Circle. Both layers are popped up with dimensionals.

The rest of my card is VERY simple. I just made two square matted layers of Melissa Frances dp, sewed around the edges and ran it through my cuttlebug with the Snowflake embossing folder. The edges are all ink distressed with Frayed Burlap (Ranger Distress Ink), and the Ice Green Pearls are (Kaisercraft).

HOLIDAY SALE
AT STAMPER'S DREAM!!!!

Please, if you are familiar with the Schmidlins (Lauraly on Splitcoast, just give me stamps - blog), please keep them in your prayers. Ali is back in Seattle while they try to figure out what to do about her brain tumor. She's having severe headaches. Thank you!!

Winter Inspired

I don't always get the opportunity to do the inspiration challenge on SCS, but today was a good day to give it a try. I loved the blue and green dots on the dress found HERE. And the headboard shape fit perfectly with my new nestabilities. I also liked the color of the bedspread...it's soft gold tone reminded me of kraft...and I love using kraft with my pastels.

So, onto the card details. I stamped the Santa Snowman, Oh, Holy Night trees, and the Wearing White sentiment, (Whipper Snapper) all onto kraft with Smokey Gray Versafine. I then colored them with pastels. I cut the tree and snowman out edged them with Frayed Burlap, and mounted them onto my Nestability Frame (that is also popped up with dimensionals). I faux stitched the edges with my Always Artichoke marker,(Stampin' Up) and added a couple of buttons. The flakes are Snow Flurries (Stampin' Up), inked with Broken China (Ranger Distress Ink), and stamped off once. I added a touch of sparkle to the hat with my Quickie Glue Pen and Ultrafine Transparent Glitter.

Supplies:
Stamps - Whipper Snapper
Paper - Kraft, Island Mist Light, Herbal Garden Medium (Prismatics), Melissa Frances
Ink - Smokey Gray (Versafine), Broken China, Frayed Burlap (Ranger Distress Ink)
Accessories - Buttons, Twine, Patels, Nestabilities, cuttlebug, Quickie Glue, Ultrafine Transparent Glitter

Thanksgiving Spotlight

Today, the Dirty Dozen Alumni on SCS were challenged to make a Fall themed project with a heart on it.

Here are the requirements:
Challenge Focus: Create a thankful card or gift, Thanksgiving table place card or treat holder, or Thanksgiving home decor item.

Required Element: At least one heart on your project.

Restricted Element: Nothing

Keyword: DCTH1108 (for SCS uploading)

I realize this is an odd looking card. There is a reason for the *uncolored* portion of this image. I decided to spotlight the fruit and vegetables in the center of this Cornucopia (Northwoods) in order to represent all of my blessings.

There are so many out there who have very little food, no shelter, estranged family members, poor health...the list could go on and on. Thus the spotlight. I thought the heart was a great idea that Sharon required. Mine is full of thankfulness, yet hurts for those who are suffering right now. I added the flower in the top corner to represent hope. To me flowers represent life and remind me that we are to bloom where we are planted. Sorry for all the symbolism, but that's how this card came about.

The heart and flower are a cuttlebug diecut.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are having a blessed week!!

Supplies : Stamps - Donna's Cornucopia, Happy Thanksgiving (Northwoods), Sanded bg (Stampin' Up) Paper - Sunflowers Dark, Suede Brown Dark, Black (Prismatics), Neenah Natural White Ink - Tuxedo Black (Memento), Walnut Stain (Ranger) Accessories - Copics, Nestabilities, piercing tool, brads, cuttlebug, dimensional tape

Fall with a view frame...

It's time for the Stamper's Dream Dream Team's second Dreamy Challenge. This month the theme is *Fall With A View*. We were all to create a card with a Fall theme, and it had to contain some type of window. It could be a punched window, a literal window, or any type of window.

We'd love to have you participate too.
All you have to do is make a card with a Fall theme and a window, and upload the link of your card in Michelle's Dreamy Challenge comments section. If you upload your card on splitcoaststampers, please use the key words SDDC2. For each card you upload you'll be entered into a drawing that Michelle will have on Wednesday of next week, to win the blog candy you can see below!!

Now for the details about my card....I decided to create a framed stained glass window. My frame was cut with the Nestabilities Labels II diecuts, and was matted with dimensional tape to give it depth.

I stamped this Northwoods Gourd and Pumpkin image with Black Onyx Versafine onto vellum cardstock and embossed it with Detail Black ep. I then colored the back of it with copics.

The corner treatments are cuttlebug diecuts, and the bg is embossed with the Forest Branches embossing folder (Cuttlebug). The Pewter Pearls are by Kaisercraft.

I ink distressed all the edges with Walnut Stain (Ranger Distress Ink), and the main panel is popped up with dimensionals also. I tried to get a side photo so you could see the depth of the image, but I failed miserably and gave up...so try and use your imagination...*grin*

Cat in the Hat

Howdy!! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week. I made this card today for SCS's Sketch challenge found HERE. I don't know what I was thinking by adding all the hardware, but what's done is done!!

This adorable *cat in the hat* image Cat Nap by Artful Stamper, was colored with copics, and the hat is flocked.

The little snowman in the picture is from the set Little Somethings (SU - 1998 - retired). For the corners, I cut out a section of the SnowDots embossing folder with a nestability square and ink distressed it with Walnut Stain (Ranger Distress Ink).

The flakes are Felt (SU) and were coated with Dazzling Diamonds (SU) after dipping them in my Glue Essentials pad. The bottom panel is pierced with an ornare template, and the subtle blue flakes on the white panels are Tinsel Town (Pink Paislee). The Merry Christmas sentiment is by Northwoods.

Finally, I added some brads and some Icons Rhinestone stickers.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome week!
Happy Stamping!
Tosh

Eggs for Eggette!!

Is it Monday already? My did the weekend flow by!! Well, that means it's time once again for a CCEE challenge that I do with a super group of friends.

This week, Charlene (LilLuvsStampin) chose Eggette as our Creative Name Featured Stamper on SCS. The requirements? Of course...there are always requirements...the card had to have an egg on it, green, and ribbon.

To see what the other girls have come up with, click HERE. We'd also love to have you play along! Follow the instructions on the CCEE blog so we can see where your creative mind took you!!

Now, my CS really has a deep green tone to it, and I used Frayed Burlap (Ranger Distress Ink), which also has a green tone, but it's hard to see in the photo. But the ribbon...definitely looks green. Albeit not bright. You know I don't work well with brights.. *grin*.

I stamped this Inkadinkado image with Frayed Burlap onto Neenah Natural white cs, and matted it with Birchtone Medium (Prismatics). I then added some Frosted Lace Stickles. For embellishments: organdy ribbon (heated slightly with heat tool to crinkle it a bit), Word Window punch (SU) and brads for the tabs, Corner treatment with two Martha Stewart flower punches and brad, Dew Drops, and finally sewing, a corner rounder punch, dimensional tape, and some ink distressing with more of the Frayed Burlap.

I love doing the CNFS!! It's one of my favorite challenges, because now I get to mail this to her!! Woo-Hoo!! I hope she enjoys this card as much as I did creating it.

Thanks so very much for stopping by!!! Have a FABULOUS week and don't get too harried getting ready for Thanksgiving! *grin*

Supplies:
Stamps - Inkadinkado, sentiment - Elzybells
Paper - Imaginesce, Birchtone Medium (Prismatics), Neenah Natural White
Ink - Frayed Burlap Distress Ink
Accessories - Dew drops, Organdy Ribbon, Frosted Lace Stickles, Word Window punch, Martha Stewart flower punches, Corner Rounder punch, brads, sewing machine

Richly Blessed

Isn't this Minty Coffee mug just adorable? I saw it at Stamping Bella and just had to have it. I stamped it with Tuxedo Black (Memento) onto Prism Irridescent cryogen white, and colored it with copics and added Christmas Red Stickles to the berries.

The Irridescent paper has a beautiful subtle sparkle to it, and the copics work wonderfully on it. It's perfect for a hint of bling. LOVE it!!

Now, of course I had to use my new Label II Nestabilities too. It's such a fun shape. To add a bit of depth, I sponged Brushed Corduroy (Ranger Distress Ink) around the edges a bit while the diecut was still in the template.

The leaves and punched border are Martha Stewart Punches, the sentiment is by Verve (They have the most awesome sentiments, and use the most gorgeous fonts!!)

The ribbon is SU and was a gift from my dear friend Laurie. And finally, the berry in the leaves is an icon rhinestone, and the black pearls are Kaisercraft.

I really appreciate your stopping by today! I hope you are enjoying your weekend!
Happy Stamping!
Tosh
