Tulips In Hobnail Pitcher ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.com/products/tulips-in-hobnail-pitcher/
It's Friday!!  Woo-Hoo!!  I am so looking forward to this weekend!!  And......I am so excited to share the card I made using Power Poppy's newest digital image called Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher.  Isn't it gorgeous?  The tulips are so beautifully detailed (typical Marcy style... ;), and that pitcher!!  I tell ya, the minute I had access to this beautiful image, I got right to coloring it.

Can I make a confession?  Okay...here goes....Before designing for Power Poppy, I was totally intimidated by digital images!!  Overwhelmed even.  But now... I LOVE them.  I can make them absolutely ANY...SIZE...I...WANT!!!  How cool is that.  This time around, I knew I wanted to frame them with a circle, so I chose my dies first and printed the image out in the size that fit perfectly inside my circles!!  So cool!!!

I colored the tulips, with Copics, in a variety of colors, because lets face it...more color = greater Spring feeling!!  Am I right?

Copics ~ TulipsPink ~ RV17, RV14, RV13, RV10 Orange ~ YR09, YR04, YR01 Peach ~ YR02, YR01, YR000 Yellow ~ Y17, Y13, Y11 Vase ~ BG49, BG57, BG13, BG11 Leaves ~ YG67, YG17, YG13, YG11, FYG1 Shadow ~ N4, N3, N1, N0

That sums up my project for today.  Be sure to check out the following Bloom Brigade Blogs for some more weekend inspiration!!

But wait...Speaking of Spring, we took our Rhino (off-road vehicle) up to the foothills yesterday to check on our heifers (which are brought up there to graze for the winter).

Below is what we see when we first drive up.  After years of drought, it's nice to see all the green!

I just love this rustic barn with the lush green hills in the background.  This is where we unloaded our vehicle.

Just one of the many incredible views!!  I love the lonely barn in the middle of the valley!

Okay...I don't know why, but I just LOVE thistles.  My husband thinks I'm a bit "off-my-rocker" because they are a horrible weed.  But their color is so brilliant, and I love all the spikes around the bloom and their leaves are super cool!

Yellow flowers can be seen growing in the crevices of the rocks scattered throughout the hills.  I have no idea what they are, but I love them!!

The gang after our trip...minus me of course.  Someone has to be "behind" the camera.  It was a nice day trip with my husband's brother, his wife and three of their 4 boys.

I hope you enjoy a fantastic weekend.

    Happy Stamping!

Blessings!

Hello my friends!  It's Friday, and I usually have a Power Poppy card to share with you, but I wanted to share something different today.  I'm not normally a "put-it-all-out-there" kind of person.  I don't know why.  I just tend to be more private.  Plus my blog is titled "STAMP TALK with Tosh".  So I have pretty much kept my posts all about my projects.  Well, today's project has a story behind it, and I just felt inspired to share.  I hope you don't mind.

I am an introvert/extrovert and don't do well with change, so when my husband and I changed churches a couple of years ago, stepping out and getting involved was quite the challenge.  I was very involved in the church we'd been members for since we got married;  I'd even say to the point of being too involved.  But after we left that church due to situations that we felt we couldn't support, it was hard to step out again.

But, God being God...he pushed me out of my comfortable little box and I felt nudged encouraged to join a women's Bible Study that met Wed. mornings at our church.  And what a blessing that has been.  Many women from that Bible Study are blessed with gifts of encouragement, and for the past two years they have been sharing that with me, allowing me to gradually get involved and blessing me greatly in the process.  I thought it was time to let them know what a blessing they have been to me, so I decided to invite them to my home for coffee/tea.

Now, being a paper crafter, of course I had to make some invitations.  Which brings me to another issue.  A sad one.  I have been on the Waltzingmouse Stamps Design Team since April of 2011, and it's been an absolute delight.  Claire (the owner and designer) is a gem!  She has a heart of gold and a style of design like no one else.  Unfortunately, she is closing Waltzingmouse Stamps.  My heart is beyond sad.  I adore her vintage style and her eye for detail!  She and her designs will be greatly missed in this stamping community!!

She has designed the most beautiful coffee/tea sets, and I wanted to use one of them for my coffee/tea invitations.  So I combined a couple of them:  Afternoon Tea (out of stock) and Coffee Set Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the invitations which included images from the Coffee Set (Which still happens to be in stock).

Here are a few of the invitations.  They all have the same layout, just different decorative papers.

Here's a close up of one of the invites so you can see the details.

You might be wondering where my title from this post came from.  Well, the whole point of the invitations, was to thank these wonderful Godly women for blessing me so abundantly.  And also, I wanted to thank Claire for allowing me to be on her Design Team for almost 5 years.  That too has been such a blessing!!

I also wanted to give a shout out to the companies I used for my little get-together.  I can't arrange flowers, and baking...well, this was too important to me to risk messing it up.  So I hired a local baking artist (she really is quite the artist) who bakes the most delicious and beautiful cookies around, to make cookies in the shapes of birds, bird cages, and nests!!  And they are beautiful and delicious! She only advertises via Instagram, and believe me, this girl is in high demand.  You can find her on instagram here: thebakersboxcafe

For my flowers, I called my favorite local florist:  Shelley DeJonge~ owner of Sweet Memories in Visalia, CA.

I told her I would like a vintage style arrangement, and this is what she came up with!!  It couldn't have been any more perfect!  You can find her on Facebook here too:  Sweet Memories

These were not the only flowers I received either.  One of the dear ladies made a beautiful and charming arrangement of flowers she picked from her garden.  And Gerberas happen to be one of my all-time favorites!

And another brought me this summery fresh smelling candle!
How totally sweet!!

And, not only was I blessed with the delightful company of my dear Bible Study friends, I was even blessed with a first time phone call from a dear stamping friend that I've never had the pleasure of meeting irl, but have shared emails for the past couple of years, as well as being a fellow Design Team member for Power Poppy:  Katie Sims...and let me tell you...she is one of my stamping idols, and has one of the sweetest "Georgia Peach" accents you have ever heard!!  What a delight!!!

And to end the day, I got to talk with my dear daughter who lives 2000 miles away.  So, as you can see, I had a full day of Blessings!!  GOD IS GOOD!!  To Him be the glory!!

If you've made it this far into my post, thanks for sticking with me and allowing me to share a treasured day with you!  I had a glorious time planning my little Coffee/Tea party, and getting to know the ladies from my group even better.  And I'm going to miss designing for Waltzingmouse Stamps, but I wish Claire and her family all the best for their future!!

I also wish you a wonderful weekend filled with blessings of your own!!

Happy Stamping my dear, dear friends!!

So Bloomin' Wonderful ~ Power Poppy

It's Friiiiiiiiiday!!!  Woo-Hoo!! And being that it's Friday, I have a Power Poppy card to share with you!  Today I used one of the most recent digital images called Wish You Luck.  Now this is a bouquet of clovers, but shoot, I thought they looked like hearts, so why not color them with pinks and reds with a hint of yellow and orange?  So, that's what I did.  The sentiment is from the clear set called Bloomin' Wonderful.

I also added a bit of sparkle along with a few embellishments.  Everything was colored with Copics, and distressed with some Antique Linen Distress Ink by Ranger.

Here's a list of the Bloom Brigaders who also have something to share today:
CopicsClovers:  R29, R24, R22, RV29, RV25, RV23, Y13 Bitty Blossoms: YR18, YR16, YR00, Y13 Ribbon:  E44, E42, E41, W5, W3, W1 Leaves:  YG97, YG17, YG13

That's it for me today everyone!!  I hope you enjoy your weekend!!

Do things that matter to your heart ~ Power Poppy

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/
It's Friday!!!!!! And y'all know what that means....I have a Power Poppy card to share!  And, since it's the beginning of the month, we have a new Power and Spark Challenge.  Stacy has designed a "Peek-a-boo" sketch for you to try and it's super fun.

I decided to make my cutouts shakers and used the Power Poppy Folk Heart set for my inserts.  I colored all the images with Copics, embossed the main panel, and added some felt flowers and leaves that I made using a variety of Spellbinders dies.  I also framed the circles with some diecuts as well as some cream pearls that I added with a Perlen-Pen (Viva Decor).  Lastly I splashed a few sequins around.  Below you'll find some close-ups of each circle cutout.

I also added some white dots, around the heart and along the fingers of the glove, using a White Signo Gel Pen.

I was inspired by the way Leslie colored her leaves found HERE.

That's it for my post today everyone.  Be sure to check out the following Bloom Brigade Blogs for some more inspiration.  And check the Power Poppy Blog tomorrow for a brand new Digi Release.  It's a real beauty!!
