Power Poppy October Release Preview ~ Day 4

Okay, I just have to say that I am having so much fun with this Power Poppy release.  Each set is just full of yummy gorgeousness!!  Seriously!!  Today, we're showcasing this gorgeous Poinsettia set.  Marcella always includes the most perfect and lovely details.  Her images really shine all by themselves.  And then we get to add a little extra sumpin' sumpin'.  I just stamped the image with Smokey Gray Versafine, heat set it, colored it with Pewter PanPastel, and added a bit of sparkle with my Quickie Glue Pen and glitter.  I was really happy with the sofness the PanPastel gave it.

Here you can see the sparkle a bit better.  If you click on the image, it's even more visible.

Lastly, I added a little tag with the sentiment.

That's it for me today folks.  Release day is tomorrow!!  You won't want miss our Hop!!  This Bloom Brigade is pretty amazing!!

Here's a list of the Bloom Brigade members participating today:
Thanks for dropping by!

Power Poppy October Release Preview ~ Day 3

Do you like gingerbread?  Have you ever made a gingerbread house?  I honestly never have.  Is that sad?  But I can now say I've colored one.

Today I have a Power Poppy card to share with you.  This darling gingerbread house is from the new set, appropriately called, Frosted Gingerbread.  I colored the house with Copics and added the little white dots, to the candied roof, with a white Sharpie pen.  For the snow, I covered the areas with Puffy White paint by Tulip and added glitter to it before letting it dry for 4 hours.  Then I took my heat tool to it and watched it puff up.  It looks and feels like frosting!  Super fun!

I took the sentiment "Hope, Peace, Cookies" cut it up, and added it to the circle's edge.  I also added some acrylic paint splatters and embossed background.  If you click on the image below, you can get an even closer look at the "frosting".

That sums up my project for today.  Here's a list of the Bloom Brigade participants:

Copics:  R: 39, 37, 35
              E: 59, 39, 37, 35, 33, 31

Waltzingmouse Stamps September Release

It's here!!  It's finally here!!  It's Waltzingmouse Stamps Release Day!!  If you've arrived here from Karin's blog, you are on the right track.  We've been sharing designs using the new stamp sets, but today I wanted to share a project I made to focus on the new Folk Art Snowflake die.

I diecut it with White cardstock, coated it with Versamark and embossed it with Shabby White Embossing Enamel by Stampendous.  I love the distressed, vintage look it gave it.  The sentiment is from the set Compliments of the Season Two.

That's it for me today.  Next on the hop is the super talented Becca.

We're having a fun competition too, so rather than confuse anyone, I'm going to just send you to Claire's Blog for all the details.

I hope you've enjoyed all the release previews.  Now it's time to shop.  ;)

    Happy Stamping!

Power Poppy October Release Preview ~ Day 2

Howdy!!  It's Day Two of Power Poppy's Release week and we're featuring a super fun sentiment set called Joyful Arrangements.  I had a ball making this card.  It's not too detailed, but I tried something new...Metallic Pitt Artist Pens.  When I saw the fun fonted senitments in this set, this "Jolly Good Holiday" just said "chalkboard" to me.  Then I started playing with the Metallic Pitt pens on black cardstock.  LOVE it!!  I just stamped the sentiment with Whisper White ink (SU!), heat set it, and colored it in with the pens.  Super easy!

Now, check out with the rest of the Bloom Brigade has to share today.

That's all folks!  Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a peak at another charming set.

    Happy Stamping!

Waltzingmouse Stamps September Release Previews ~ Day 3

For my Power Poppy post, click HERE.

Hello my creative friends!!  Welcome to Day 3 of Waltzingmouse's September Release Previews!  I hope you've been enjoying our Christmas inspirations!  Today I'm excited to share another charming set called Warm Fuzzies!!  Just the name alone makes ya all cozy inside, and this set oozes warmth and charm.  I paper-pieced the larger bird and and cut out the heart so I could insert a puffy felt heart.

Here's a closer view so you can see the dimension of the heart better, along with the piecing and sparkly flakes that are also included in this set.

The flakes just happen to match a couple of the new WMS diecut snowflakes too.  Snowflake #1 and Snowflake #2.  I diecut the #2 Snowflake out of felt and added an enamel dot to the center.

I wanted to use the #1 Snowflake and the little bird on a felt mitten, so I diecut two mittens (Spellbinders), sewed them together, and added the snowflake and little tag that I diecut using the smallest WMS Stitched Tag die.  The little guy was colored with Copics.

That sums up my project for today.  Here's a list of all the WMS design team members so you don't miss a thing!!

Thank you for dropping by, and for your encouraging comments.  Tomorrow is the release and the DT will be putting on a hop to inspire you a bit more.

    Happy Stamping!

Power Poppy October Release Preview ~ Day 1

For my Waltzingmouse post, click HERE.

October is just around the corner, and that means another Power Poppy release.  Today we are featuring a set called Bottlebrush Holiday.  I chose to use the "Ho" image and make an elegant "Ho-Ho-Ho".  I know...a little odd for this sentiment, but this is where it ended up.  I inked up the "H" with Love Letter Memento and the wreath with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  I then colored the wreaths with Copics and added some Dark Carmine Red Gloss gel to the berries, along with a bit of glitter.  I also added some Shabby White Embossing Enamel to the frames, snowflakes, banner, and circles for a sparkly distressed feel.

Here's a close up so you can see the distressed embossing, and the wreaths.  Oh, I added a fine black line to give a bit of shadow to the "H's" too, along with some glitter.

Lastly, I added the sentiment to the top after diecutting it with a banner die.

That's it for me today.  Be sure to check out what the Bloom Brigade has to share.  These gals are never short on inspiration...that's for sure!!

Waltzingmouse Stamps September Release Preview ~ Day 2

Hello again my crafty friends!!  Welcome to Day 2 of Waltzingmouse's September Release Preview!  Today we are previewing a set called Frosty in the Pines.  This card was super fun to make because I stepped out of my "paper-crafting box" and splattered acrylic paint, on a card, for the very first time.  And...... I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!!  I also went with a more graphic look even though...tempting as it was...there is the most ADORABLE snowman in this set and I collect snowmen.  But when I saw these GORGEOUS (I know...I'm using caps a lot...I'm just so excited about this set...sorry) trees...I knew I wanted to stamp them in gold.  And I LOVE how they look.  I silver embossed the word "believe", along with the snowflakes in the background, and added some washi tape strips.....and......that gorgeous new WMS Snowflake #2!!!  It's the sweetest little thing, and a perfect addition to any winter card.  LOVE that little baby!! As you've probably noticed on some other design team blogs, there are new snowflake dies too.  I can't wait to show you what I did with two more of them, over the next couple of days.

Anyway...you probably want to check out what the rest of the team has to share, so here are the links:

Thanks for dropping by!  Don't forget to stop again tomorrow for a super little gift giving idea.

      Happy Stamping!

Waltzingmouse Stamps September Release Previews ~ Day 1

Hello!!  I'm so excited to show you projects I made using Waltzingmouse's new images for it's September Release on the 28th!!  They're Christmas themed and we have 3 different sets to share, along with the most beautiful Snowflake dies!!  I'm not exaggerating either.  They are unique and absolutely gorgeous!

For today, we're featuring Little Deer.  I started by stamping the trees (I wanted them to be birch) with white pigment ink and embossing them with white embossing powder.  I then took some copy paper and cut some "hills" that I used to mask off the bottom and sponged Tumbled Glass Ranger Distress ink over the background.  It's really soft here, but actually darker in real life.  I stamped the deer and Cardinal with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Cryogen White cardstock, colored them with Copics, and adhered them to the frame and background.  To make the deer spots, chest and tail a bit brighter white, I colored them with a white Sharpie.

That's it for today's project.  Please stop by tomorrow for the next preview.  Like all of Claire's sets, it has limitless possibilities!!

If you haven't already, check out the rest of the WMS Design Team's Blogs.  There is a lot of inspiration with this talented bunch!

Waltzingmouse September Pajama Party

It's Pajama Party time with Waltzingmouse Stamps, and there are some fun challenges to participate in.  If you should decide to participate, you could win credit for some fabulous Waltzingmouse product!!  For all the rules, head on over to the Waltzingmouse Blog

I have two projects to share with you that I created for two separate challenges.

For my first card, I went CAS and created a card for the Old Pajamas challenge using two different WMS sets:  Seasonal Flourish and Vintage Christmas Backgrounder

I just took a 3/4" strip of copy paper, taped it to 3 1/4" piece of cardstock, and laid the masked piece of cardstock, face down, on top of the inked  Vintage Christmas Backgrounder image (Love Letter Memento Dye Ink).  I then laid another piece of copy paper over top of that and rubbed over the entire piece of cardstock, making sure I rubbed a bit more over the masked area so the stamped edges would be crisp.  I then took a sponge dauber and inked over the edges of the masked area to give a bit more definition to the border, and stamped the sentiment (Seasonal Flourish) with Onyx Black Versafine Ink.  I love how the flourishes in the sentiment go into the background.

For my second project, I was inspired by the PJ Bedtime Story Sketch.  I combined a few of the newest released Halloween sets as well as a couple of WMS dies for this one:  Boo and Friends, Great Big Owl, and Peek a Boo Sentiments, Dies:  Boo and Friends - Vamp Die Set and Folding Tag Die Set

I colored the Vampire Boo with Copics, and added a couple of the circle images (from the Great Big Owl set) to the base of the tag.

The sentiment on the inside is from the Great Big Owl set too.  I wish I would have alternated colors in the sentiment with some orange and mayber green or purple, but, another idea for another project.

That's it for my projects.  I hope you've been inspired to join in on the challenges.
     Happy Stamping!!
