I'm kind of hooked on the Tulips digital set. I was just visiting my cousin in Iowa (our moms were sisters), and she shared a story about what white tulips mean to her. Her mother (my Aunt), passed away a few years ago, right between her two daughter's weddings. It was a confusing time for her because of her joy for the weddings, but at the same time, dealing with the loss of her mother and their Grandmother. I hope I'm remembering the timing right for this next part...not sure if it was after the funeral, or her passing, but the morning after one of those days, there was one white tulip amidst a rainbow of others in her garden. She believes it was a sign from her mother. So, to this day, white tulips are very special to her. Therefore, I made this card for her birthday which which is in a couple of weeks.
I colored the Tulips with the C0, C1 and C7 Copics for the blooms, and G12, G21 and YG11 for the leaves. I added a bit of sparkle with a Quickie Glue Pen and Rock Candy Transparent Glitter, and a sweet little bow with some twine (Olive Manna), and a Rhinestone.
Here's a close-up so you can see the sparkle a bit better. Now for some more inspiration!! If you haven't taken a gander at the blogs of the gals listed below, you should head right on over there right now!! They are brilliant with their colors and design!!

ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous. Love the white tulips and the pretty die cut frame.
ReplyDeleteHave mercy! So beautiful, and what a lovely story. I like how you kept the green soft so as not to overpower the white. This card will be treasured!
ReplyDeleteWOW, such a beauty! Stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning card and such a lovely story to go along with it. It's strange how sometimes those sad times are so near a celebration of joy. Almost as if it's done to ease our pain and remind us of that passage, To Everything There is A Season, Ecclesiastes 3:4. Your card does that as well, the subtlety says it all!!
