Power Poppy June Release Previews ~ Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of Power Poppy's Release Previews.  I have to make this post quick.  I finished this card just in time to take it with us for our niece's wedding.  You've seen this image before...in digital format.  Now, you can have the peonies and tulips in a stamp set with some absolutely exquisite sentiments!  It's called Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips... LOVE it!!  I stamped the Peony image onto Linen Vellum (PTI) with Versamark, and embossed it with white ep.  I then framed it with the Heirloom Legacy Heritage die (Spellbinders) after adding some Gesso to the edges.  I handmade the paper Peony using the Grand Peony die (Spellbinders), and Spun Sugar Ranger Distress Ink.  The leaves were die-cut also using Foliage 2 dies (Spellbinders)

Here's a close up of the embossed Vellum background.  The Peonies are so beautifully detailed!

For the banner flags, I stamped one of the sentiments included in the Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips set, and used a scrap piece of the white embossed vellum I made earlier.

That's it today folks.  You can see what the rest of the Bloom Brigade has to share by following the links below.

Power Poppy June Release Preview ~ Day 3

For my Waltzingmouse post, click HERE

Welcome to Day 3 of Power Poppy's June Release Preview!  Is this month's release just out of this world or what!!  I tell ya, I am never disappointed with Marcella's creativity and attention to detail.  And this Sassy Succulents set is so "Spot On" and trendy!!!  I adore the sentiments as well as the beautiful variety of succulents.

I decided to use the "no line" coloring technique for my card today, because I wanted the one image to "Stand Out", just as the sentiment suggests:  "Why fit in when you were born to Stand Out?" Dr. Seuss.  What a beautiful quote!!   I stamped the image and sentiment with Pistachio Memento ink and colored it with Copics.  The sentiment flag sentiment was stamped with Smokey Gray Versafine Ink.  The rest is pretty self-explanatory.

That's it for my project today.  If you haven't visited the Bloom Brigade listed below, be sure you do.  Those girls have some serious skills.  Just sayin'....

Here's a list of the Copics I used:  YG95, YG93, YG91, V06, V12, E35, E33, E31, T2, T1, T0, 0

That about sums up today's project.  There's more to share tomorrow, so I hope you'll stop by for a visit!!

Power Poppy June Release Previews ~ Day 2

http://powerpoppy.com/products/play-ball/Hello friends!!  I'm back with a preview of a super fantastic,  Power Poppy baseball themed set.  And let me tell you, Marcella hit a home run with this one!!  It's called Play Ball, and it's full of beautifully fun uplifting fonts, and the images....*sigh*...LOVE the collage of baseball images!!  It's my favorite, although I didn't use it for today's card...I got carried away creating my own background with all the fun sentiments!  I was going to keep it all black/white, but my daughter said I should color the #1...well...as you can see, that wasn't all I colored.  I went to town.  So, this card is a bit out of my style, but I thought it turned out kind of fun.  I stamped all the sentiments with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored them with Copics.  I stamped the pennant and "grand slam" sentiment, onto black card stock, with Versafine and embossed them with white ep.  The red baseball stitching was stamped with Love Letter Memento ink.  I then added the sentiment label along the side and adhered it all to some decorative paper, along with some sequins and enamel dots.

Now it's time to visit the rest of the Bloom Brigade's blogs if you haven't already.  They have some fun inspirational projects to share with you.

Here's a list of the Copics I used on today's card:
B97, B95, B91, R29, R27, R20, T5, T3, T1

That's it for me today.  Tomorrow we have some succulent projects that you just have to check out!!
      Happy Stamping!

Power Poppy June Release Previews ~ Day 1

It's hard to believe that June is right around the corner.  Do you feel like this year is just flying by?  Even though I'd like to slow things down a bit at times, right now, I'm excited to be able to share some projects that I made using this month's Power Poppy release sets.  Today we're featuring the beautiful Lavender set.  This set has charming images as well as warm sentiments.  I chose to make a gift set that I felt fit perfectly with this set.

Awhile back, I made a Christmas version of this bag.  You can find the tutorial HERE.  Another version of the bag can be found HERE.  I stamped the Lavender image onto canvas using Stazon ink, and colored it with Copics.  There are itty-bitty sentiments in this set that fit perfectly in the little tag on the muslin bag.  I decided to add the "Take it Easy" sentiment since I wanted this gift set to be a "revitalizing" gift.  After fraying the edges a bit, I sewed it to one panel and proceeded to make the bag.  Lastly I added a little canvas tag with the sentiment "Sending you a peaceful, easy Feeling" stamped onto it with Stazon ink once again.  I added an eyelet to the punched hole at the top of the tag because canvas is notorious about fraying.

For my card, I took another piece of canvas and glued it (spray adhesive) to a kraft piece of card stock that was 1/4" smaller all the way around.  I then inked up an embossing folder, added the canvas and dry embossed the piece.  You can see the subtle lines in the canvas.  I wanted to add a bit more texture.  Once again, I frayed the edges and layered the panels.  I added a ribbon flower I made quite awhile back, as well as some die-cut leaves to the top of my die-cut piece.  The sentiment "Healing Thoughts", as well as the small image of lavender are also a part of this Lavender set.

Lastly, I included some Lavender Bath salts inside the gift bag to complete the gift.
That's it for today's project.  If you haven't visited the rest of the Bloom Brigade Blogs, head there now.  There's oodles of inspiration to be had!!

Thank you so much for stopping by!!  Be sure to drop by tomorrow for a preview of another set.  Marcella knocked this one out of the park!!

         Happy Stamping!!

Get Sketchy with Power Poppy

It's time to get sketchy with Power Poppy, and we're excited to share our takes on this week's sketch using digital images released this month.  You have a chance to win a set of your choice too.  All you have to do, is make a card using this sketch and either link it to the Power Poppy Blog, or use the key words PPSKETCH1 over on Splitcoaststampers.  The deadline for entries is 3pm Eastern on May 30 and the winners will be announced on June 2.

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/I'm kind of hooked on the Tulips digital set.  I was just visiting my cousin in Iowa (our moms were sisters), and she shared a story about what white tulips mean to her.  Her mother (my Aunt), passed away a few years ago, right between her two daughter's weddings.  It was a confusing time for her because of her joy for the weddings, but at the same time, dealing with the loss of her mother and their Grandmother.  I hope I'm remembering the timing right for this next part...not sure if it was after the funeral, or her passing, but the morning after one of those days, there was one white tulip amidst a rainbow of others in her garden.  She believes it was a sign from her mother.  So, to this day, white tulips are very special to her.  Therefore, I made this card for her birthday which which is in a couple of weeks.

I colored the Tulips with the C0, C1 and C7 Copics for the blooms, and G12, G21 and YG11 for the leaves.  I added a bit of sparkle with a Quickie Glue Pen and Rock Candy Transparent Glitter, and a sweet little bow with some twine (Olive Manna), and a Rhinestone.

Here's a close-up so you can see the sparkle a bit better.  Now for some more inspiration!!  If you haven't taken a gander at the blogs of the gals listed below, you should head right on over there right now!!  They are brilliant with their colors and design!!

That's it for me today.  I hope you've been inspired to create using this week's sketch.
Thank you so much for stopping by!!
Have a fantastic weekend, and
Happy Stamping!

Power Poppy: Pop Goes the World Challenge

http://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2014/05/pop-goes-world.html
Hello Stamping friends!  Power Poppy will be hosting some fun challenges this month!  Each Friday, we'll have a challenge for you to help get the creativity flowing, and this week we're having a color challenge.  All you need to do, is use three of the four colors in your creation and you'll have a chance to win a stamp set of your choice.  Entries will be accepted until 3PM EST on May 30th, and a winner will be announced on June 2nd, after the June Release.   When uploading to Splitcoaststampers, use the Keyword: PPWORLD1

Check out the Power Poppy Blog for all the rules on how you can participate.

I chose to use Orange, Yellow and green for my card.  And, before I go any further, I need to give credit to Lydia Fiedler (understandblue: Splitcoastampers).  She inspired me to try coloring on Pastel paper with Faber-Castell Ploychromos Colour Pencils.  It was super fun, and gave this beautiful digital Tulips image (Power Poppy) a whole new look.  The digital image printed beautifully on the Pastel paper.

For the inside, I just printed the sentiment, from the Gladioli (Power Poppy) set, directly onto the Pastel paper, tore it and added some white pigment ink to the edges.

That's it for my project today.  If you haven't seen what the rest of the Bloom Brigade has to share, check out their blogs listed below:

Hello Waltzingmouse Fans! It's Saturday, and that means we've finally arrived to Release Day!! And...you have a chance to win some awesome Waltzingmouse goodies too!! All you have to do is leave comments on each post along the hop, and you will be eligible to win a gift certificate that is equal to the amount of a large Waltzingmouse Stamp set.   You have until midnight on Monday to do so.  Claire will announce the winner on Tues., May 6.   So, don't forget to spread the love!!

If you've arrived here from Teresa's blog, you are on the right track. If not, you might want to visit the Waltzingmouse Makes Blog so you don't miss a stop.

I have a niece getting married this month, and I thought it would be a perfect time to make a card for her using one of the tags from the Folding Tag die set.  I diecut the tag and then embossed the "Mr. and Mrs." sentiment, from the My Heart set, onto it.  After that, I dry embossed each end of the tag using a horizontal embossing folder, and scored above and beneath the sentiment.  I attached it to my card along with some feathers that I die cut using the WMS Fine Feathers die set.  I had stamped the Fine Feathers with Versamark onto Vellum before die cutting.  Lastly, I added an intricate die cut to the background, some Shabby Chic Flowers I made using ribbon and felt, some sheer flowers, rhinestones, and a beaded pick.

Here's a close-up of the tag so you can see the embossing detail.

I absolutely LOVE the feathers from the Fine Feathers set.  They are so intricately detailed, and emboss beautifully!  I also love how close the die cutting is.  It really helps make the feathers stand out.

That's it for me today.  Next up on the hop, is the super sweet and uber talented Kelly!!

     Happy Stamping my friends!!

Waltzingmouse Stamps May Release Preview ~ Day 3

It's day 3 of the Waltzingmouse Release Previews and I have a little 4th of July Favor to share with you.  I thought it would be fun to make a box to put sparklers in and include a "book" of matches on a charming little tag that I made using Waltzingmouse's newest dies called the Folding Tag.

Here's a close-up of the tag closed with the "book" on top of it.  I made the book just by wrapping a mini box of matches with Live by the Sea dp by Maja Designs.  The sentiment on the book cover is from the WMS set USA 1776 set, as well as the Happy 4th of July sentiment I stamped on the top.

When you open up the tag, I included the "enjoy" sentiment from the new stamp set Tag Collection 1.

Here you can see the matches inside the book.

That's it for today's project.  The new release will be available tomorrow!!  Woo-Hoo!!  I'm looking forward to sharing tomorrow's project with you.  I included yet one more tag.  LOVE tags.  They're such a sweet addition to any project.

Here's a list of those hopping today:

Thank you so much for dropping by!
