Flourishes Free for all Friday

Happy first Friday in 2014!! We want to extend our best wishes to each of you for the New Year! Since this is the Friday before Flourishes new release, you are probably wondering where our Pre-Release Challenge is? Well, we decided to let the Friends of Flourishes gals run this month's challenge! Be sure to tune in next Tuesday and play along with the Release Week Timeless Tuesday Challenge! We'll have three winners that week for the FULL release! Play along as many times as you want for multiple chances to win!

Now for some fun today, the Flourishes Senior Design Team has a bit of beautiful variety to show off. Some of the team got to play with Becky Fleck’s new round of January Sketches at PageMaps (which she will reveal on Sat.) and others on the team are going to surprise you with some of their own creativity. Join these lovely ladies for some fabulous inspiration to kick-off your New Year!

Free for All Friday with BorderI made two cards using one of Becky's PageMaps sketches.  For the first one, I used Friendship and Flowers.  I stamped the Flower with Versafine onto Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder in order to use the Emboss Resist technique.  I then inked over the image with Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey Ranger Distress Inks while still in the Romantique rectangles die.  Lastly I added an embossed die cut heart, the white embossed resisted butterfly (with Tumbled Glass Ranger Distress Ink rubbed over it.), the sentiment and a smattering of rhinestones.

Since it was the beginning of the year, I decided to use the Flourishes set Moments in time for my second card.  I stamped the clock face with Smokey Gray Versafine, and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder while still in the Tile Works die (Spellbinders).  I then added some color inside the frame (after masking off the edges with removable tape) using Tumbled Glass and Brushed Corduroy Ranger Distress Inks.  The sentiment was stamped using Gray Flannel Memento ink.  I then framed it all with Dark Olive card stock from Flourishes' Evergreen Collection and Loyal dp by Authentique.  The base is Flourishes Classic Ivory and is embossed using a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.

Here's the lovely sketch I got to work with:

That's it for today's cards from me.  Be sure to check out what the rest of these talented gals have to share!!

Thanks so much for dropping by!!
Happy stamping!
