Welcome to the ODBD August New Release!
Today I'm sharing a couple of cards made with the new Pickles set. I wanted to show that they can be both elegant, and comical.
First, I colored the circular image with Copics and framed it with Spellbinders' Asian Motifs dies. The middle square panel was embossed using a Cuttlebug folder.
I included the larger pickle image on the inside, along with the verse John 15:1.
For my second card, I stamped the smaller pickle 3 times onto Eclipse tape and cut them out for a mask to create this background.
Two pretty simple, straight forward cards, but you get the idea of this set right? :)
Here's a look at the whole set:

ReplyDeleteThe elegance of the first card lends so much to the lowly pickle. I have to say I would be in a pickle if I did all the work you did to make that card. Pure genius on your part.

I love the lacy look of your first card, and you selected such a wonderful sentiment for inside! It is truly gorgeous. Your second card has a CAS look, but it must have been quite an endeavor to stamp all those pickles...very impressive!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! Never knew pickles could look so elegant! Love how you created the pickle background too!

ReplyDeleteTosha, Tosha, Tosha, I'm so pickled (scrap that and change to tickled!!:) about your unconventional pickle usage. First, the uber elegant " Pickles for Peace" card, and then the fabulous bg masking work that provided us with your "Pickles for Tickles" work of art. The next time I'm out in the garden picking the lowly cucumber, I will pause a moment, see it in a new light and let my imagination wander. Then, i'll take it inside and whip up a batch of relish cause I'm a practical farm wife after all:)
ReplyDeleteGood ideas.
ReplyDeleteVery unique cards. Love the fold. Great job.
