I have the honor of starting this week's hop, and I'm excited to share what I've come up with.
I chose to use the Serve the Lord set for today's challenge. I love the poppies (being from California... ;) So I started by stamping them, with Tuxedo Black (Memento), onto Cryogen White cardstock. I then colored them with copics, cut them out and pieced them onto a kraft piece that I stamped with Onyx Black Versafine. I layered the lacy circle onto a kraft piece that I die cut using two Marianne design Creatables dies: Anja Corner and Anja Edge. (I placed some white cardstock behind the die cut panel to make it pop. The embossed portions were brushed with some Fresh Snow Papertrey Ink.
Lastly I added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the petals and leaves, along with some ribbon and Natural Burlap String. That about sums it all up.
Thanks for visiting!!
Happy Stamping!!

Agree, stunningly beautiful. Wonderful combination of poppies and dies with perfect colors to show it all off.
ReplyDeleteBoth my Grandfathers and my Dad faught in the WW1 or WW2. Somehow my maternal Garandad got called Poppy. Daddy always marched in the Remembrance Day parade and played the bagpipes and we wore Poppies.
ReplyDeleteIn school we learned "In Flanders Fields" and back in the olden days the information hi-way was a little slower.
I though Poppy was named after the poppies.
I love when they burst out of their pods and look like crushed silk.
All that to say anything with a Poppy touches my heart.
That card, simply put, is "splendiforous".
What a beauty, such contrasts, detail and the layout. WOW!
I nearly wrote a novel in the first post of the Blog Hop.
God Bless, Carole
