Waltzingmouse July 2012 Release ~ Day 2

It's Day 2 of Waltzingmouse's July Release, and the Design Team is featuring a super cool Summer set called North Shore. I went all CAS (Clean and Simple) with this release because I was having so much fun with distress colors for my backgrounds.

For my first card, I just inked Vintage Cream (PTI) cs with Ranger Distress Colors in this order: Squeezed Lemonade, Rusty Hinge, and Festive Berries. I then stamped the image with Versamark and embossed with Black Embossing powder. So easy, and striking!! It's framed with the Postage Stamps die by Spellbinders.

For my second card, I used a paper mask and inked the background with the following Ranger Distress Colors: Frayed Burlap, Peacock Feathers, Broken China, Faded Jeans, Squeezed Lemonade and Walnut Stain. The sentiment "Find your Wave" is from the North Shore set, and the surf board is from the Free Spirit Waltzingmouse set.

That's it for today.
Here's a list of the WMS DT that's participating today, just in case you might have missed one.

  1. Both lovely cards - but the second one is just stunning! So clever how you have inked around the surf board so that it looks like it's really stuck in the sand!

  6. These are both brilliant creations. Your rich colors really pop that image off the page, and I'm dying to know the shading technique you did to make that surfboard look like you stuck it in the sand. That's incredible! Both are wonderfully creative.
