Floral Elgance and blog candy...

I love flowers!! Love them!! Basically I just love nature...birds, flowers, clouds (as you probably noticed a couple of posts ago), sunsets, waterfalls...yep, nature. So when I saw this new Inkadinkado set Beauty Stems from Here, I had to have it! You can get it too from Michelle's store Stamper's Dream. She has oodles of new stamps from a variety of companies, along with papers, ribbon, and new fun embellishments too.

For this card, I stamped the image twice onto Neenah Solar White with Tuxedo Black (memento), and colored it with copics. I then cut out the flowers and leaves and popped them up with dimensional tape. I thought the Ivory Crocheted Ribbon along with the irridescent ribbon would make a good combination with a buckle slider, so I added that above the scalloped border created with a Martha Stewart punch.

The gorgeous sentiment is from the Wonderful Wishes set by Verve. They have the most fabulous sentiments in the most wonderful variety of fonts.

Supplies:
Stamps - Beauty Stems from Here (Inkadinkado), Wonderful Wishes (Verve)
Paper - French Flea Market (BellaBella - My Mind's Eye), Sage Medium and White (Prismatic), Neenah Solar White, Vellum (SU)
Ink - Tuxedo Black (Memento), Cloudy Blue (Adirondack Dye Ink)
Accessories - Labels I Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Copics, Crocheted Ribbon and Iridescent Ribbon (May Arts), Buckle (JoAnn Scrap essentials), Scalloped Border and Butterfly Punches (Martha Stewart), Corner Rounder punch, Rhinestone stickers (Kaisercraft), Fancy Decorative Corners (Simply Swank), Ultrafine Glitter, Quickie Glue Pen, Sewing Machine, Dimensional Tape

Oh.....you probably are wondering about the BLOG CANDY mentioned in the title...*grin*
Okay. Well, I recently hit 100,000 views and wanted to thank you all for stopping by. Especially those who have been so supportive and have left comments. So, I have some fun goodies that I'll give away Friday before noon. All you have to do is leave a comment about what your favorite flower is, and I'll use random.org to pick a winner. Simple as that.
Mine is the Sunflower. I love it's texture, size, and actually the different colors it can be!!

It is easy to see why you made it to 100,000! You are an inspiration to all! I love to see what you have done.
As for my favorite flower, it would have to be Lily of the Valley. Today would have been my Mom's 79th birthday. I recently framed a painting that she had done in the 60's that is of Lily of the Valley. It is small, only 4x8 but I am so glad I found it--and YOU!! thanks!

My son is graduating soon, from Boston College with his Master Degree in Theater, and I might use this layout for his card, maybe. My favorite flowers are Shasta Daisies and yellow roses. I love them when they are together in a bouquet with greens.

Now that I live in the south and peonies don't grow here, I guess I would have to say my favorite for the climate is hibiscus because of the varieties of blooms and colors available.

  175. Wow, what a milestone!!!! Congratulations, Tosh!!!For my favorite flower, well, that would be a tough one, since I like flowers in general, but while we were stationed in Okinawa,Japan I had a closer look at Orchids (they love the moist tropical climate there ;P)and they are like a piece of art. They may look alike but are so very different in their own way. So, I guess Orchids it is. Tosh, also, may GOD bless you for being such a great friend to Laurie!!!

  196. First of all, this is one beautiful card. The background looks like marble or ceramic. You really do a good job of coloring with the copics, Tosh. My very favorite flower is the Gerbera Daisy. I truly love all flowers, with the exception of Iris for some reason, but no other flower has such vibrant & strong colors and I love the perfectly flat flower heads. And I love the centers. Guess I'll have to stop myself because I'm going & going on.........!!

  198. Hi Tosh -

I love that card, the flowers are so pretty and delicate. My favorite flowers are Johnny-Jump-ups (tiny pansies). I just love their little faces. My other favorites are lilacs and lavender (guess you can tell I have a thing for anything in the shade of purple)! But I do adore the scent you get from Lilacs and lavender, clean and slightly old-fashioned.
I wanted to also say that I think you are very special. To take the time away from your busy schedule and your family, to spend time with a friend in need (like you did for Laurie), makes you a hero in my book! Everybody should have a friend like you.
